UPDATE September 15
It’s a new dawn for Punk.
The old broken dog that two weeks ago we called “The Saddest Dog in the World” is little by little finding a new zest for life.
And this is just the beginning… this is JUST the beginning…

There isn’t nothin’ like the sight of an amputated spirit. There is no prosthetic for that.

(Please Help us save Punk’s life by SHARING this post after your read it)…
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw his pictures. There I had, in front of me, not only a broken dog, but an amputated spirit.
After all these years of rescue I consider myself a hard man, hard with others and with myself. But seeing this face, and this body, I broke down.
Broke down because I can read between the lines. In Punk’s face I can see the years of solitary confinement in a box-like space, the cold winters, the scorching summers, the endless seasons of violence and abuse.
The neglect, the abandonment, the loneliness that breaks you, body and spirit, human and animal alike, until there is nothing left, just skin and bones. No guilt, no sorrow. No one ever felt pity or compassion for Punk.
Until today….
Punk has been rescued, at this precise moment he is sleeping in our best clinic where we are trying to put his body back together. Punk is old… he is covered in mange and blood spurts out of his breaking skin. He has erlichia, a disease that is fatal if untreated. Punk was a Hunter’s dog, he was not a friend, not a companion, just a tool. A tool that was abandoned long before he was discarded.
Help us turn Punk’s life around. Help us rebuild his body and his strength, maybe in the process we will be able to put together the pieces of his broken spirit.
Please, contribute to Punk’s Chipin today... I give you my word, you will be updated all throughout his recovery process and beyond. It wont’ be quick, it won’t be easy, but it will be the RIGHT thing to do.
We are all he has…

P.S. And just to show you how much Punk’s life will change with your help, let me show you the story of a old dog that was once given a second chance. Forever missed… Hunter.
