Yesterday,  Let’s Adopt received one of those calls for help that couldn’t be ignored.

In recent days we have been swamped with cases that, most of the time, we are unable to help with. Reasons? We are a group run by a bunch of volonteers and we are totally overwhelmed. We need more volunteers, people committed to achieve extraordinary things not just empty words.

Yesterday we received a call for help that we just couldn’t pass on.

It was a female  puppy. Her name: Kara. The puppy had been abused and hit with extreme violence. Her lungs were crushed and her jaw was shattered. The pup was crying in pain. We could quickly see she was not going to make it.

The puppy was in Erzurum, in the Far East of the country.

When I heard Erzurum I inmediately thought of Jonah, the pup that last year was crushed to death in Van and that, because of the lack of coordination of “animal lovers” and the interference of internet slanderers ended up dying in some under equipped and badly managed veterinarian hospital at the hands of a group of vets who, simply put, knew more about cows and sheep that they knew about dogs.

We promised ourselves this case would be different.

We tried to have the people in Erzurum to fly the dog to us so that we could treat him at our hospital. This proved impossible. No matter how much we tried, how many can i buy xanax in mexico options we offered them, it just couldn’t be done. We knew we would have to go get the pup.

Problem is, Erzurum is far. Very far. Exactly 1.057 kilometers away.

We will not elaborate on what we did next and the way we organized to have Kara brought to Ankara, it is part of the Lets Adopt know-how and what makes us special, but just let me say this, NOBODY in the animal welfare community would go to the extent that Lets Adopt went to get this pup to safety.

Nobody.

We ended up rescuing two puppies from Erzurum yesterday night, Kara and Limon.

Kara went straight to one of Ankara best veterinary hospitals. Her condition was extremely critical. She had a massive lung infection and we tried to control her internal bleeding.

She died a few minutes ago, at 21.00. In the end this was a battle she couldn’t win.

Limon is a good state of health, he is in good shape. We knew he wouldn’t survive at the place where he was. He is an extremely clever boy, clever and lucky because no matter what happens he will be ok as he is under our care and protection.

Limon has been lucky, very very lucky.

Please contact us if you wish to adopt this very special dog. He is looking for the perfect family and we know this family is here amongst us.

Regards

Viktor Larkhill

Thank you for rescuing these two little ones and making every effort to save poor sweet Kara.Everyday my appreciation, admiration and respect for Lets Adopt and its people grows.
    Bless you.

  3. May you rest in peace Kara, free from pain & human-inflicted cruelty at the Rainbow Farm up there. My dearly departed companion animals of all species will show you the ropes I’m sure.
To Viktor & the rest of the volunteers, typed words do not seem to do justice to express properly how amazing it was what you all did for Kara. And Limon too. As always the only solace we can take is that at least Kara passed away in a place of care & love, even if that doesn’t erase what previously was done to her by other humans.
Sending you carob-coated thanks & blessings to you all, all the way from Melbourne. 🙂
(Carob is safer than chocolate for the animals ya see)

  7. I can not begin to have words for what my heart feels…thank you seems so inadequate. Bless you for doing all you do for these ‘Angel Beasts’. You make this human over-populated world more bearable.

These stories are heartbreaking. Thank God Limon is okay, but Kara’s story shatters my heart. I so badly want to go after people who abuse animals, and get sweet revenge, but that is not realistic. These types of people must be riddled with hate and violence, and total lack of any hope for their own lives or existence. Many of these types of people have gut level self-hate, which pervades everything they come in contact with. It’s so sick on their parts, and so horrible for those sweet, innocent and vulnerable animals who have so so much love to give. I hope those people who commits these crimes rot in hell for eternity.

  9. Janice Giampaoli says:

I agree with those who responded in being grateful to your organization for taking in and caring for these precious animals. Bless your hearts and the animals too!

  13. What fantastic work you do! What courage and devotion! Thank God (?) that people like you exist in this cruel world. You have all my admiration and moral support. I have for many years been a regular visitor to Turkey and love the country apart from the conditions of its animals, which are my main priority in life. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated” Mahatma Ghandi.

Thank you so much for all the hard work you do and the dedication and devotion to the animals of your country. I’m so sorry to learn that poor Kara did not make it although you managed to get to her to Ankara, poor little girl… may she rest in peace. As for the remaining dog, Limon, I wish him the best of luck in finding a new forever home and someone who loves him. He seems to be a fit and healthy puppy and is also very handsome! Thank you Viktor and all the volunteers for being guardian angels to all lost and abused animals in Turkey.
