UPDATE AUGUST 4

Precisely two months have passed. Atlas, the dog that was once called “Cujo” by everyone and that, for years, lived afraid of people surviving on gargage and being stoned, has a completely new life now.

Atlas has been adopted by a wonderful family spending some time in the Bahamas, they fostered him through his long treatment and of course, as it couldn’t be otherwise fell in love with him completely.

Atlas is enjoying the wonderful Bahamian beaches for the first time in his life… and in a few days he will be flying home, to Connecticut!!!

Amazing Atlas… amazing story right?

This is the work of Let’s Adopt Global… Please don’t forget to drop by our Page and Connect with us. We need you in the team…  Join us!

——

Nassau (Bahamas), for millions of people around the world the name evokes images of white sandy beaches, sailing boats carried by the wind, cruise tourism and in general a jolly good time…

From today, whomever reads this blog will also associate this Caribbean paradise to a dog we have just named ATLAS!

For years Atlas has been trying to survive in the backstreets of Nassau, foraging for garbage, hiding from the locals that disgusted by his aspect refused to give him any food or water, in the hope that this would killed him once and for all. But Atlas didn’t die… he somehow found precious little to get going, managed to get some water out of the occasional compassionate tourist, and found a way to survive, barely.

Everyone knew about him, people alerted the Bahamas Humane Society, that chose to give the most inhumane of answers and offered to Kill the Dog… humanely of course.

There he was, Atlas, the Ultimate Underdog vs. the Bahamas Humane Society and the People… it seemed to us an unfair confrontation of which he stood no chance to come out alive, so we decided to step in and get him out of the way of that sweaty mass of hypocritical ineptitude.

It took our team three days and endless hours to finally manage to rescue him. He was terrified of people and I don’t blame him. For years, the mere sight of humans must have sent him running down the street, hands raised, stones thrown, Atlas running for cover.

Atlas is now at our clinic in Nassau with us and his condition is critical. He has a triple, and if untreated, lethal, combination of conditions: Anemia, Mange and the feared and deadly Ehrlichiosis At this stage many would kill him… we are going to heal him.

Atlas is a Chow-Chow, he is only five years old. Right now, he looks like a hundred year old rotting corpse. It’s up to us to change that.  He is right now under the watchful eye of a loving team of vets that, with your help will be working to restore this beautiful broken survivor to his former glory.

Please, if you can, help Atlas get a new lease of life away from this nightmare. Help him by contributing to his Chipin Today:

We will provide periodic updates of Atlas condition. Of course, if you would like to adopt him just reach out to me by email on viktor@myletsadopt.com
