Kid is dead

Today is a sad day for us.
Alas, it couldn’t be.. Kid died today due to complications caused by a tick-born disease called Erlichiosis. The incubation period is 7 to 14 days and I regret to say, we failed to diagnose the disease at an early stage. Blood tests were made but somehow the disease escaped detection until it was too late.
Kid was euthanized this morning. He started having seizures and we knew there was nothing we could to at that stage. He died in the loving arms of Gorkem, one of our vets, a man so soft and kind that sometimes I wonder if he has chosen the right profession. In a sector where most professionals are hardened to the point of callousness, Gorkem is a shinning beacon of hope for the animals out there.
He will be buried next to Maximilian and Dr. Doom, and truly cannot think of a better place for him to rest for eternity. Right now, if I could choose a place to rest forever, that’s where I would love it to be. Rest in Peace Kid. You were loved.
