Bu köpeği bu akşam sokaktan kurtardık. Kaybolmuş görünüyordu, amaçsızca dolaşıyordu. Neredeyse bir otobüs tarafından ezilecekti.
Bir bakın ona…
Yaşlı.
Tamamen ihmal edilmiş.
Kör.
Bazıları için Ray’in çöpeten farkı yok.
Yarın onu doktora götürüp gözlerindeki enfenksiyonu tedavi ettireceğiz. Bakalım gözlerini kurtarabilecek miyiz.
Ardından kuaföre gidecek hayatında ilk defa. Kıtık kıtık olmuş saçları kesilecek, yıkanacak, yaraları iyileştirilecek.
Onun için özel bir aileye ihtiyacımız olacak… Çok tatlı, kedilere bayılıyor ve köpeklerle çok iyi geçiniyor.

Ray hakkında son gelişmeler!
Ray, daha bilgisini verdiğimiz gece sahiplenildi.
ABD’deki bir üyemiz Ray’in hikayesinden o kadar etkilendi ki ona ömrünün sonuna kadar mutlu olabileceği bir yuva vermek istedi.
Dün klinikte, gününü check-up ve kuaför salonunda geçirdi, Ray. Gerçek yaşının tahmin ettiğimiz gibi 10 değil sadece 3 olduğunu öğrendik. Kötü durumu yıllar süren ilgisizlikmiş belli ki.
Ray, kataraktı nedeniyle kör, ancak ameliyat edilebilir durumda. Yeni ailesinin yapacağı ilk iş Seattle’a gelir gelmez Ray’i bir göz cerrahına götürüp ameliyat ettirmek olacak.
Yani bir gece içınde Ray’in hayatı 180 derece değişti. Şu anda İstanbul’da harika bir geçici evde kalıyor. Bir hafta kadar sonra ise yeni ailesine, bir köpeğin de duyguları olduğunu anlayan insanların yanına gidecek. Onlardan öyle az var ki…

We have rescued this dog from the street this afternoon. He was looking lost.. wandering aimlessly.
We was about to be hit by a bus.
Look at him.
He is old.
He is completely neglected.
He is blind.
To some Ray is garbage.
Tomorrow we will take him to the vet and have his eyes cured. The infection will be treated. We will try to save them if that is possible.
He will then go to the Pet Salon for the first time in his life. He will be shaved, and washed, his injuries will be healed.
We will need a very special family for him.. he is lovely, gets along with dogs and cats.
He is an old blind soul…

UPDATE ON RAY!!!
Ray was adopted the very same night we publicized his case.
One of our members in the USA was very taken by Ray’s plea and offered a forever home.
We couldn’t have been happier.
Yesterday Ray spent the day at the vet, first he had a full check up. His real age was determined, he is not over 10 years old as originally suspected, he is no more than three years old. His poor condition was due to extreme neglect.
Ray is blind due to cataracts, but of the operable kind. The first thing his new family will do when he lands in Seattle will be to take him to the eye surgeon and have his sight restored.
So… overnight Ray’s life has taken 180 degree turn. He is now staying at great foster home in Istanbul and will be flying to his new country within a week, leaving behind years of abuse and neglect and starting a new happy life with a loving family which understands that a dog has feelings, something very, very few people seem to understand…
Harikasiniz, insanlik adina tesekkuru bir borc bilirim size. Umarim sagligina kavusur, ve tabii ki onu seven insanlarin olacagi bir yuvaya!

5 yıl önce Ray’e çok benzeyen, Tarçın’ım çalınmıştı istanbuldan. Fotoğrafını görünce hm Tarçın’ı hatırlayıp üzüldüm, hem de onu sokaktan kurtardığınız için mutlu oldum. Umarım benim çalınan kızımı da o zaman birileri bulmuş ve ona sahip çıkmıştır. çok teşekkürler
After a couple of weeks of not plugging in the cyber world, I come back to see this story. While I’m again angry that someone has dumped him to fend for himself, I’m also very pleased for Ray that he was saved by you guys! Such highs and lows…

Bu iş insan vicdanına bırakılmayacak bir konu olmalı,tüm evcil hayvanlar için bağlı bulunulan belediyeye kayıt yaptırılır , tüm doğum ve ölümler kayıt altında tutulur ,mutlaka mikroçip uygulanır , hayvanını sokağa atan tespit edilir ve çok acı bir ceza öder.eğer bakamayacaksa masraflarını karşılamak üzere bakımevine bırakır.
Medeni olmak için 5199 mutlaka birçok açıdan değiştirilmelidir.
Yoksa ağlamanın , kızmanın , vicdansızların terkettiği hayvanlara derman olabilmek için çırpınmanın bir adım önüne geçemeyiz.
We need to get the message out to people to make sure their dogs all have a contact number on the collar in some sort of permanent material. İ cant tell you how many owned dogs İ have seen where the dog does not even have a collar on.
I have a field next to my house and someone dropped off a blind, old maltese poodle. I saw a car driving slowly around the block, and the a woman came walking around the corner, I stopped her and asked her about the dog, it was there dog and they were going to dump it, but I happened to appear. I took down the car number and called the police. They were made to take the dog to Animal Welfare. What would of happened if I never saw this, My inside comes up in my throat when I think about it, the world is a very sick place indeed.

Wonderful! This story just made my day. I am involved in animal rescue in the U.S. and didn’t realize how much we could also help abroad beyond signing petitions, donations, etc. Adoptions are possible too.
