Until yesterday the grounds of the Fatih Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, represented the best and the worst of humanity of what this country has to offer.
On one hand hundreds of kind people and volunteers fed and cared for this grand mosque’s cats and kittens as best as they could. They provided food and water, did their best (although it was never enough) to provide them with basic medical care, spayed and neuter urgent cases when they could afford can u buy xanax generic ambien brands over the counter in canada it.

Yesterday night, in the beginning days of the Holy Month of Ramadan, in the holy grounds of one of the worlds largest mosques, one carrying the name of the Sultan who first conquered Istanbul then the hearts with his love, a most hideous crime was carried out.
In the middle of the night, under the cover of the shadows, a team of workers, strong men, with their bellies still filled with their iftar dinner, went around the grounds of the mosque selecting the easiest prey, the kittens. Tens, possibly hundreds of small kittens, some of them barely days old, eyes still closed, still feeding from their mother cats, were brutally collected, dumped in plastic bags and thrown in far away locations.
Our guess is that those brutal workers did not drive too far. The usual practice shown by a multitude of evidence, is to throw the animals alive on garbage trucks.
Municipalities’ treatment of stray animals is legendary in its brutality. The cries of dogs being crushed alive by garbage trucks resonates in the minds of any Turkish animal lover. It is always there, reminding us of the “Sights and Sounds” of our country.
The crime commited yesterday night, on holy grounds, is unspeakable.
On the 25 of August, the Mayor of Fatih, Mustafa Demir, proudly announced that Sultanahmet Square will be the city’s most colorful center of traditional Ramadan entertainment. Events at the square will run under the theme “Hello to Ramadan in Sultanahmet.”
The Night of the 26 of August, Fatih provided hundred of cats and millions of people around the world with the kind of entertainment it will be difficult to forget.
A brutal spectacle, the cowardly killing of innocent kittens.
Denounce it. Scream. YOU have the power to force the reversal of such brutal policies.

Müslümanlıkta kediler kutsal hayvanlardır, buna rağmen katledilmelerini aklım almıyor. Hangi gelenek göreneğimizde hayvanlara eziyet vardır bunu da bilmiyorum.

Turkey has a very awkward way of being ‘known’. For example, belly dancing is not Turkish, but its known as Turkish. Fes is not Turkish but it is known as Turkish. Yogurt is Turkish, but it is not known as Turkish… The list goes on!
Unfortunately, our legacy is real with respect to animals because in Turkey animals are not liked and respected in general. But their attitude towards people shows quite an opposite trend with respect to life.
I only hope that if West is to accuse us for something, it should blame us for our cruelty towards animals, and force us to change it. Not accuse us for the ethnic divisions, which has been artificially created between it’s people over decades.

7. Dinimiz herhangi bir canlıya eziyeti nasıl değerlendiriyor?
8. Kedilerin-köpeklerin-kuşların vs. yok edilmesi için emir vermek, izin vermek, seyirci kalmak, teşvik etmek Allah katında nasıl karşılanır? Bu işi yapan mı yoksa yaptıran mı daha günahkardır? “Kedi-köpek-kuş” kelimeleri yerine “insan” kelimesini koyduğumuzda, durumda bir değişiklik olur mu?
9. Peygamber efendimizin, oturduğu yerden kalkarken cübbesinin üzerinde uyuyan kediyi rahatsız etmemek için, cübbesinin eteğini kestiği söylenir, sizce bu doğru mudur? Yoksa aslında bu kediyi görevlilere öldürtmüş müdür ki sizin işçileriniz de bu yolu izlemektedir?

Eğer Yüce Allah’ın yarattığı bir kısım canlıya bu hareketi reva görüyorsak, bazı aileler bakamayacakları sayıda çocuk doğurduklarında, bu çocukların da anneleriyle birlikte toplatılıp çöp arabalarında ezilmesi gibi bir duruma göz yumulabilir mi? Böyle bir şey yapanlara ne denir?

Let’s not make any generalizations. One can not blame the whole nation as “barbaric” just because of its bad administration/government and of some of its people who abuse animals. Every nation has good and evil. To label a whole nation as ” “sick, evil, barbaric” because of the acts of its goverment or of some of its people is very discriminating . It is like calling all the Germans racist. So stop this nonsense prejudices.

Not to loose the main point, the malicious action which abuses animal rights and general right of living, is caused by a governor not by all nation. When we argue we must focus on right points, yes this is really holocaust. It is very painful and awful!!!
We must show our feelings and try find a solution to prevent these kind of actions by means of reason not by cursing the actors. What we can do is the right question, make a news about that, write about that, oppose by official applications.
To generalize is not the right action in addition discrimination by labelling is the easist way. There are also evil governors all over world, by the way there are good governors in Turkey also. If we choose to label “the others” and feel as if we are all angels, this will not be true. What we had done untill now for those babies is the right question, what we could do?
At least now what can we do to stop these kind of actions and to damp repeat of them. For that reason I want to appreciate the writer of the letter with questions which highlights main points very well, we can add other questions to them. If there will be a way of announcing those actors to people it will we be a way of ashame for guilty actors.

farkli türdeki hayvan ve bitkileri, insanligin hizmetine sunmustur. Nitekim Yüce Allah
bu hususta söyle buyurmaktadir : “Sizin için yeryüzünde çesitli renk ve biçimlerle
yarattigi seyleri de sizin hizmetinize verdi. Ögüt alan bir toplum için bunda ibret
vardir.”(1) O halde insanin hizmetine sunularak kendisine emanet edilen bu
varliklara merhamet nazariyla bakilmalidir.

Merhamet duygusu, insani insan yapan erdemlerden biri ve Islam inancinin
geregidir. Kur’an-i Kerim’de, “Muhammed Allah’in elçisidir. O’na tabi olanlar da
birbirlerine karsi çok merhametlidirler…”(2) buyurularak buna dikkat çekilmistir.
Merhamet, sadece insanlara yönelik olmayip, çevremizdeki bütün canlilari
kusatmalidir. Zira Yüce Allah, basta insan olmak üzere bütün canlilara karsi
merhametli davranilmasini emretmis; insana yapilan zulüm ve haksizliga razi
olmadigi gibi, hayvanlara da zulüm edilmesine razi olmamistir. Hayvanlara yapilan

köpege su vererek onu ölmekten kurtaran kisinin günahlarinin bagislandigini
haber vermektedir.(3)
Hayvanlara iyilikle muamelede sevap olup olmadigi konusundaki bir soru üzerine
Sevgili Peygamberimiz, “…hayat sahibi her canliya yapilan iyilikten dolayi sevap
vardir.” (4) buyurmustur. Ayrica Hz. Peygamber (a.s.), hayvanlarin dövülmesi,
aç- susuz birakilmasi, zevk için avlanmasi, yavrularinin telef edilmesi,
dövüstürülmesi, hedef haline getirilmesi ve güçlerini asan ölçüde yük vurulmasi
gibi kötü muameleleri hiçbir zaman tasvip etmemistir. Bu tür davranislarda bulunanlari
ise; “Bu dilsiz hayvanlar hakkinda Allah’tan korkun”(5) diyerek uyarmistir.

Bütün canlilara karsi merhamet edilmesi konusunda Sevgili Peygamberimiz (a.s.):
“Allah, merhametli olanlara rahmetle muamele eder. Öyleyse, sizler
yeryüzündekilere karsi merhametli olun ki, semâda bulunanlar da size rahmet
etsinler…” (6) buyurmustur. Bu itibarla, hayvanlarin haklarina saygili olalim, onlara
eziyet etmeyelim, onlara merhametli olalim. Can tasiyan her mahlukata karsi
yapilan iyiliklerde sevap oldugunu unutmayalim.

We are all aware that there are good, caring people in Turkey as there are in all countries. but also there are evil and uncaring people too ,, and that is what this message is about .. it was ” people ” who have taken the cats/ kitttens .. not a country . And those responsible deserve no sympathy from anyone, they could just as easily have set an example of kindness and helped the few that care for these cats.. but no again they took the evil way out .. this makes me so mad .. just who do they think they are that they can decide life of death ?
There is still a chance for them to redeem themselves … show where the kittens are allow them to be saved. and give respect for the remaining cats at the Mosque.
In China they eat dogs and feed them to sale them for eating…are Turkish the same ? ..looking for pleasure the horrible death of a life …hope they do not have a gun..otherwise better to run ,..they will shot on everything moving …as normal hunter…Pity to see that, looks like what i have seen few days ago around Marmaris with this guy having a dead animal attached to his back of his bike…NO COMMENTS

First of all, i am in america right now.There is no animal on streets or anywhere.It’s so interesting for a Türk.I have checked about that.What happend to all animals araound? what do you think?
it’s not about animals or countries.It’s about fool persons.Not just governor’s.I saw some people who wants all street animals killed.Because of that a lot of people calling goverment centers(to kill street animals).And they return to normal life, when they see someone talking about this, they are talking like us.
On the other hand, Western was always barbaric.They thinks other people like them.its insisct of humanity.You take all slaves from africa.You made crushades against world.You killed innocent childs.All nations which was lived under control of Turkish empire,(bulgaria, greece, ermenia, united arab emirates, syria, ıraq, serbia, crotia, moldovia, ukraine, georgia, romania, slovenia, israil, hungary, bosna hersek, cyprus, east russia, poland, part of italy, belarus, albania, Lebanese, jordan, palestane, arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Yemen, Qatar, west iran, Egypt, Libya, Tunis, Algeria, Sudan, Eritre, Djibouti, somali, Kenya, Tanzania, nigeria, Mozambik ,Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Senegal, Etiyopya ) can talk their own language, they can live their religion and culture. This news gave me nightmares last night. If people knew they were doing this to beings who are in reality angels on Earth, would they continue?
I am waiting for the Imam of the mosque to speak out against this cruelty which is against the teachings of Islam. The Prophet once cut off his sleeve so as not to disturb his cat, who had fallen asleep on it during his prayers. Holy writings speak of Allah condemning a woman to hell for locking up a cat and starving it. Murdering all those helpless kittens is a huge sin and should be condemned by religious leaders. It is especially heinous because it was done at a mosque. Islam is a religion of peace and compassion; it is the evil doings of man that perverts its teachings.
