Someone came to our main clinic with a wonderful kitty. Her request… to have her euthanized.
India is an indoor cat. About six months ago she was offered as a present to the ten year old kid of the family…
That decision forever marked her life.
For the last year India has been routinely abused, mishandled, kicked, thrown around the house, and finally, the injury that sealed her fate, grabbed and pulled by the tail with such strength that this injured her spine and damage the nerves controlling her ability to pee and poo on her own. She needs manual assistance to pee and she can´t control her defecation.
And so… the owner, annoyed with having to clean pee and poo didn’t hesitate to take her to the vet to have her killed.

Sweet little baby – I want her , what do I do ?
I send India all my love without delay. I am able to care for her if no other home can be found. I have a very elderly gentleman called Steele who has cancer and has incontinence. I do not complain when I have to clean his mess. He is about 16 years old no teeth, and very skinny. But while he shows the will to live then my home and heart is there for him. I had to take him away from an abusive family member. So I have the heart to do what ever it takes to make sure that while in my care they are happy, spoilt but most of all loved. There are also 6 more cats all taken from neglect and uncaring homes. each one has it’s on problems from mental issues to medical each one is loved so much by both my husband and myself. We have more to give, but alas I am at this moment unable to help you with much needed funds but I offer my heart and my home if you need me. Thank you Victor you are just what our animals need the hand of hope.
My kitty Bangles was paralysed when I rescued her. They told me she was trapped until a garage door and that accident damaged her spine. I never believed them. She was with us for nearly 10 years, she passed in her sleep, peacefully, like every cat should.

Tell the owners if they do not pay for this kitty’s rehabilitation you will see that their little phyco ends up in a mental institution, has no friends and eveyone including the places the parents work at will find out what a sadistic child they have raised.

I will gladly take the baby, I know what it’s like to have no one want you because of 9f a disability. My own mother wanted me dead at one point and she used to beat me often.
They should be taken to court. Are there really no laws? They should be prosecuted and banned from having other animals. I wonder how this child grows up. Actually I don’t wonder: it’s already even too clear.

What a terrible thing to do to a poor sweet kitty! Is there any way she can be treated so that some ability to move and manage will return? I would take her but I have a rescue cat who simply will not tolerate other animals of any kind. I have tried repeatedly. The trauma of being on the streets has damaged her, I’m afraid. I will donate for India’s care. I hope someone can take her soon.

To be honest im so mad at the parents of this family, that allowed their kid to treat poor India, this way! They should be punished for letting their kid do this to an innocent cat! Such a horrible family! Sending all my love to India, and ill pray she will get better! At least now i know India is well taken care of by You wonderful People and she will nerver ever be hit again! Hi Karin… what has happen is that the nerve controlling the pudendum has been affected. At this stage is a neurological issue for which there is no easy solution other than the timing and scheduling of food and water intake in order to make life at home easier.
While that home is found she needs to stay at the clinic being expressed three times daily and watched closely… The moment she finds a home Ill be personally taking her there and making sure her cares continues until the day she leaves this world.
India is so pretty! She looks like she couldn’t decide whether to be a tabby or a calico, so she is a mixture of both! And what a sweet face! I hope karma gets that “family” that hurt her. What kind of monsters hurt a little baby and then decide to kill her? After what they did, frankly I’m surprised they took her to a vet to euthanize her, rather than just finishing her off by doing more of what they’d been doing. I’m sorry, my imagination is starting to run, and my blood is starting to boil. I’m glad LAG found her!! She is in the best of hands, and her lucky forever family is waiting for her!

I hope this kid will be punished accordingly. This is a serial killer in training, he/she deserves to have a lesson; this is a 10 year old kid, someone who should know better. I donated to India; my husband and I work all day so we would not be able to take care of her but if it weren’t for that fact we would adopt her. Donated. Poor, sweet little India did not deserve such horrid treatment. I sincerely hope that the “child” (monster!) involved will never be allowed to own an animal again. If it were up to me there would be much harsher punishment than that but hopefully at least the parents are smart enough to ensure that future innocents are protected. I can’t imagine what kind of person he/she is going to turn out to be and it sickens me.

On a different note, I really hope that kids family gets him (or her) some serious intervention before that violence moves on to the next animal or person. That type of personality disorder almost always has a set trajectory of getting worse.

Viktor where is this kitty located? Is it in the United States? The reason I ask is to know if anyone has reported this abuse to authorities. Even if it’s a ‘child’ that they claim did this to the cat, I would think the parents should be reported as they are responsible for their child’s actions.
Your comment that six months ago the kitty was given as a gift to a child doesn’t measure up to your next comment that for the past year the cat has been abused.

an idiot gave his precious son a kitty as a gift. no problem, we all know that kitties are toys, not living creatures with fellings an capable of lots and lots of love. the littl shit did what he did for 6 months, that idiotic father didn’t see, didn’t hear, didn’t notice anything.

What this family needs is to come up on charges for animal abuse, it doesn’t matter if its a child or an adult. If the child is being brought up this way, then I see we will have another person behind bars in the future.
I wish I could help in India’s care. I am a single mom living paycheck to paycheck but If I do find a few $ I would be willing to send it in. Have you thought about having a permanent catheter in to help so she can be drained more easily. And they do have cute little pull ups for kitties. Just a thought. I hope she finds a wonderful home with someone who will love and adore her.
India’s story has made its way to Canada! I live in the city of Montreal and just saw this story on my friend’s FB page. I thought it was here in our city and was ready to offer to foster this sweetie until a permanent home could be found. I am an animal activist and I volunteer at a shelter in my city. This story has made me LIVID in that the parents of this kid did nothing to protect the cat, they just turned a blind eye while their psychotic child abused the cat. He is 10 years old and thus is old enough to understand his actions. His intentions were to hurt the cat and if it was up to me, I’d teach him a hard lesson. This is what pain is kid! Sadly I do not think the parents see just how deranged their son is to have let this go on or they simply see nothing wrong with it which is a scarier thought, and I fear they will replace India with another cat.
I am heartbroken when I think of the pain India had to endure, but I am also extremely relieved as well in knowing that India is no longer in the hands of that monster who has abused her. In an ironic way, she has been saved.
Thank you for taking her under your care and I pray she finds the most loving home that will treat her like a princess, protect her and love her until her old age. I want to donate towards her care. Do you accept donations from abroad?

I truely hope this little monster of a kid gets what he deserves and what kind of parents allows this kind of torture. This sweet innocent baby does not deserve her life to be changed in this way. The vet knows what happened & who did this. Isn’t a vet bound by law to report abuse? I hope the owners are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The child needs to be removed from the home & institutionalized. All pets removed from home. How long are people going to look the other way & allow this to go on?

The kids needs his butt spanked! And the parents need jail time. We know the kid abused this poor kitty but sounds like the parents did too and they know better! Maybe if they had watched their brat and taught him/her compassion, kitty wouldn’t be in this condition!!!
