Look at this…
Just look at this..
We have named her Sophia, she must be four, maybe five years old… not an old dog by any standards.
but look at this… gone is the energy and vitality she must have once had. She looks 100 years old..  Instead the years spent in a cage at a breeding facility did this to her, they killed her inside, burning whatever happiness she carried with her and turning her into a sad old soul…

An old soul with two medical conditions, one of them life threatening, the other one impossible to live with: Mammary tumours and a hernia that is putting at risk vital organs.

A life spent giving birth to puppies that would then be sold in markets and fairs across the country, a life spent in the darkness and confinement of a cage, ignored by everyone except during that narrow gap, twice a year when it would be time to mount her… and start the cycle again. Pregnancy, birth, feeding, seeing some of her sons die of infection caused by the atrocious conditions. Life and death in a box..

Sophia has been rescued from a pound in Spain, and she is now with us… her life is about to take a radical turn for the best.

Gone are the atrocious generic ativan dosage dreadlocks, the million fleas and the ticks, now we must operate her to get rid of her mammary tumors that line her chest and the hernia struggling her insides.

Once we accomplish this we will see the Angel smile again..

Update March 25

Sophie has been operated this morning.. It has been a success. The inguinal hernia has been closed, all her organs re positioned and her mammary tumors removed.
She is doing great and has a great life ahead of her!
Here is a brief video that shows what the surgery we did today entails..

And here she is… Sophie has woken up!!!!

UPDATE March 28…

Guess who is going home today?

Please, if you can, help us cover Sophia’s operations, help us turning her life around. To all of us it really means very little.. to her, it means everything…

Many many thanks..

Please, even if you can’t help, please SHARE SOPHIA’s plea in your social networks…

Many thanks

Viktor

P.S. As usual there will be periodic updates about Sophia’s state on our Page, Let’s Adopt Global.

P.S. If you feel touched by Sophia’s story and would love to adopt her please reach out to me on viktor@myletsadopt. com telling me everything you can about you and your animals. Sophia is going to need an amazing home… could it be yours?

this is so wrong how people have no feelings for any animal and just abuse them and breed them for money people are so cruel i pray for her and hope she gets to love and to feel loved before her time is up these people should be treated the same way and see how it feels, treat others as you want to be treated.

  10. What an AMAZING difference, shows what a good haircut can do for a woman! I hope Sophia continues to recover XX

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Thanks Lee.. thanks 🙂

  14. I adopted a rescued little girl, she was a Papillon, who spent her first ten years as a puppy mill. When I was able to get her and have her spayed. She, unfortunately, had ovarian cancer. I only had her for three very short wonderful years. I sincerely hope that Sophie is much more fortunate. I’m so glad you have her. I wishthe very best for her. She more than deserves it.

  15. I donated what I could and shared. I know every bit of $$ helps, but also does giving a voice to these little angels that cannot speak for themselves. Everyone with a heart needs to speak up and put an end to the horrors of puppy and kitty mills. From a fellow rescue volunteer, bless you Viktor for all you do for animals. I will keep sweet Sophie in my prayers.

  16. My god thank god for pepole like you , i lost a dog from throat cancer he had mass cell and had 2 ops i loved him but the cancer was to advanced his name was brandy i still miss him everyday but can you please keep me updated on your brandy thank you

  17. Joëlle, from Brussels says:

At least one, saved from these horrible conditions… Thanks Viktor, let’s hope the operations will remove every bad tumor… and what else… and have little Sophia live at last, at kind-hearted humans! Given a small donation as usual… Do keep us posted! Fingers crossed for this darling little dog… <3

  19. She looks so much better now! I sincerely pray Sophie will fully recover and will have a wonderful new life ahead of her I imagine she was spayed while the surgeons were in the area, she does not need to have any more litters. I hope and pray that someday soon ALL puppy mills world wide will be closed for good!

  20. Dessie Botham says:

God Bless you Viktor for all the good that you do. I wish I had a Million dollars to share with you. Sophie looks wonderful and is so adorable..

  21. Shared, of course. I hope this girl will find a perfekt home. Poor baby, used for breeding. Thanks to you Viktor and to all of your team for helping those with no voice to talk.

  22. If she need a home I can take her. She looks like a cute sweet little doggie. Glad to hear she is doing better. Thanks for all you do for the creatures that can not help themselves. People are such monsters sometimes.

  23. Kimbee785 says:

I have 2 precious Yorkies, one large one very tiny, that were rescued from a puppy mill. Heartbreaking. The larger one, Skosh (Korean for little bit) must have been so traumatized. She too was a mess when I got her. But a bath and a haircut only begins the long road to gaining trust of people. I have had her for several months now and she is still crawling on her belly when I am around like she just knows I will beat her or something…so sad. And neither will come when called, go figure. The teensy weensy one, Tinkerbelle, is a little more animated but still very fearful. I have never had a harder time trying to potty train any dog, but these two are especially challenging because of their history. I love them so much and they will never have reason to fear me or any human again. They will never have to worry about being bred again, or caged or ignored or whatever abuse they have endured. The older one has had her vocal chords cut poor thing, she can’t even bark. When I ask myself why anyone would treat a defenseless little dog this way, I remind myself of the treatment of babies that get aborted, cut up in the womb and spinal chords cut even after they are born under the banner of ‘legalized abortion’… so if people will do this to their own, how NOT surprising that they will do it to an animal. May God bless the warriors who try to save them all!

  24. glad to see sophie is doing so well praying for a speedy recovery and a happy home

  29. Hope it is to a really good home she deserves to be loved after what she has been through

  30. Not one single thing is in vain, it makes a difference to that one that is saved and we can continue to make that difference…one life at a time. We cannot give up because it is the easy road, we must continue for the jhourney, for the animals journey.

  31. What a beautiful darling you are Sophie, you are gorgeous. I AM SURE someone is coming to take you to a wonderful new home very very soon. God Bless. x x
