This is an emergency call to all animal lovers.
What you are about to read is a current rescue operation, the most complicated we have ever undertaken and we need your help.
Please continue reading until the end, and if you can, help. If you can’t please, at least press the SHARE / LIKE / RETWEEN button and help us spread this post on Facebook and Twitter.

Shuuja means “The BRAVE” in Arabic, read and you will soon understand why..

Shuuja’s rescue was one of the most complicated cases we have ever taken.
Shuuja was found in jordan, in a ditch, with a bullet lodged in his spine. He was paralyzed and incontinent. The severed nerves in his spine made impossible for him to pee. We believe he was in that condition for about a week.

His discovery by Fatten was a miracle but vets in Jordan unanimously agreed he should be euthanized. There was no way to help him in Jordan, noone to foster him, he was going to end up going from kennel to kennel and would shortly die of infection.

At that point we were contacted and took over the logistics and all financial responsibilty for the rescue.
Shuuja had to be driven twice from Jordan to Israel. The first time an overzealous soldier barred him from entering the country. It took a second ride and a lot of diplomacy for him to finally be allowed into Israel but he finally did.

Immediately upon arrival Shuuja was treated for a variety of issues including severe dehydration and pneumonia. He was in a critical condition for about a week, until he was finally able to move to a great foster home where he started his rehabilitation. During this period he has thrived.

I believe Shuuja’s evolution as shown by these pictures has been nothing but remarkable.

But Shuuja’s journey is not over yet.

There was a second bullet…

A second bullet, lodged on Shuuja’s leg stops him from using his front leg normally, he is in a lot of pain and cannot use his chair. His rehabilitation has not been able to move forward. This fact, combined with the fact that his foster mother needs to have an emergency operation and that no final home has been found in Israel has made us take the decision of flying him to the United Sates.

We need to get Shuuja out of the country as soon as possible. Everything is ready to receive him in the United States. Upon arrival to New York he will be taken to our clinic and the second bullet will be taken out of his leg. It will take him weeks of therapy and loving care in his new american foster home but we believe Shuuja will soon be riding his chair at full speed.

We have paid close to 5.000 USD for Shuuja’s rescue right until now and we are very likely to need quite a whole lot more to cover the second part of his journey and his rehabilitation.

There are some that believe that this is too much money for just a dog and that Shuuja SHOULD BE KILLED NOW. But we believe that each and every life is priceless, and that any animal deserves as much help as he possibly needs as long as he wishes to fight. And as you can see in these pictures, Shuuja has fought hard and long and he is right at the gates of a wonderful new life.

I hope you believe, as I do, that Shuuja deserves a second chance in life.

We need your help to make it possible. We can’t do this without you.

Please, if you believe Shuuja’s life is worth as much as the life of your own dog or cat, please contribute to Shuuja’s Chipin today.

P.S. After his operation and full rehabilitation Shuuja will need a forever home. Please, if you feel you are that person, write to me: viktor@myletsadopt.com
