We will never know what exactly happened, maybe they did see something in the stars, may be they just run out of stones, but the Mayans, ancient inhabitants of the land known today as Mexico decided to make tomorrow’s date the last of their calendar, leaving us, inhabitants of the XXIst century with a terribly awkward feeling. What if the world really ended tomorrow? In which way we would spend our last day on earth?
Well.. I happen to know the answer, and it is far more unromantic that I would have loved it to be. I’m going to spend the last afternoon of the world in the operation room with Burton, a brown Spanish mutt.
Meet Burton, an incredible dog that is going to meet the end of the world on an surgery room having his leg operated and fixed.
Look at this fracture… and tell me… can you imagine the pain of being such a tiny dog and having to go around with a leg like this?????
Sometimes people ask us why we do what we do, day in and day out, taking all kind of risks and personal sacrifices.. well, this is why… because if we don’t do it, noone else will. If Burton is not operated today and we just passed the ball to someone else chances are he would end up in some shelter limping in pain for the rest of his life. Maybe, one day in a distant future he would be adopted, but by then his leg couldn’t be fixed. He would then be Burton the cute limping oldie.
Burton is a young buy xanax tijuana dog, the fracture is horrible but we can fix it. Let’s do this together. On the eve of the end of the world… Let’s Save Burton. If we all die and become cosmic powder so be it, but if the Mayans are wrong and we are here tomorrow, at least Burton will have a proper leg to go onto new and excellent adventures, without limping in pain.
On your last day on earth… before kissing your loved ones goodbye... could I ask you to do one more thing… could you help Burton with your spare change? Tomorrow we are not going to need the money anyway… 🙂
