Dear friends,

For the last two years a very small group of us has been running this community in the best way we could.
We have spent countless hours trying to understand the best way to run this community making sure that it doesn’t  just turn into a collection of useless and dormant members or into yet another good-for-nothing group of “animal lovers“.
No… we want more for this group. We want Let’s Adopt! to be filled with extraordinary people. People that think alike and act inunison, guided by a common ethos and a code of conduct. We want to create the world’s largest community of Animal Rescuers and we want that community to work as one.

So, this week we are going to conduct an experiment here. I want everyone to understand and share the responsibility of running the public face of a group like Let’s Adopt! Global. I want everyone to get a glimpse for how it is to run the best Page on Facebook.
Anyone who wants to be an administrator of this Page just leave a word here and you’ll get to be Top Dog for a week.

My only condition is that I have to know who you are, so when you leave your comment on the Page please include a few lines about you. That’s all. For a week you will be free to post whatever you wish for each and every member of the Page to see. You will also be get to play a part in the way rescues are coordinated around the world, in searching for foster homes as well as fund raising on behalf of the Simba Fund.

Would you like to take advantage of the unique opportunity to run Let’s Adopt! for a week?. Please drop us a word here:

With great power comes great responsibility… use it wisely.

Viktor

  3. Hi!
I work for a church and a daycare center, and walk my neighbor’s dog. I was a mail carrier for 10 years, but lost 7 important family members including my parents in a short span of time, and had to quit this good-paying job. I’m hanging in now, but since the economy’s also suffering, it has been very tough on me. I live with my son Bradley, a 10th grader at an early college high school, in a small mobile home near the coast. We are owned by 3 cats, a dog and a Beta fish named Blue. My other son is grown, has been married 12 years and is a grocery store manager. They live about 4 hours away from me. My friend on Facebook, Annie Taylor and I, are considering opening a small sanctuary for a few pets together. If things go right I’ll have money by next year and can act on this goal and buy land.

Hope there are ways I can help your group! I can sign petitions, write letters, and “share” information. I only make minimum wage on one job and $8.50 an hour at the other, $5.00 a day for exercising Izzy. But want to help in all ways I can. I also have an idea I want to discuss with you and many others about a way that could possibly make a positive change for shelter animals.

If I’m unable to assist or be supportive enough of your group, just let me know, I can drop off; I understand your desire for active participants. I wish you the best of success!

I’m married, I work full time (leave home at 7.30am and don’t get back until 6.30pm), have 2 Border Collies (one rescue who still takes a lot of work) (dogs are fed raw), 1 cat and 2 rats . I am currently doing a course on dog training/behaviour, do Karate 3 times a week and line dancing once a week. I also host for Dusk Till Dawn Events (ghost hunting in the UK) twice a month. As much as I would love to do this, I seriously doubt that I could do it justice at the moment. However, I wish you the best of luck with it and hope that sometime in the future you will do this again when I will be more than happy to take part.

  5. I am a happy single middle aged woman who loves animals.

I foster animals and do rescue. I just finished raising 2 wonderful motherless kittens.

I am a pet sitter. I love my work. It is the best job in the world. I am very fortunate to earn my living doing what I love.

I have 1 dog and 7 cats. All are much loved family members. Several have problems. 1 cat is deaf, 1 cat has asthma and my dog is a tripod. Shh, Don’t tell them. They don’t know they are different.

  7. I have flexible work hours– I have adopted 3 rescued dogs. I have fostered in the past.
My son and his girlfriend have just adopted 2 guinea pigs from shelter.
I am on facebook always working hard to help rescues, fosters, shelters and adopters save lives

Well İ thought İ was doing fine when we sent Madonna one of my fosters to Holland (have two more scheduled for Paws in Bulgaria. Pandora will be adopted in England and tag is raising the money for her stay for her and Scoobie Do the rickity mastif cross. Our group is funding his blood tests etc.) and İ was fine with 25 dogs but now İ am up to 33 puppies keep comming. Any suggestions? ;-)) İ am a sucker for a furry face!
