Çılgınlık ve aptallık işgali…

Sadece dündü, Yıldız üniversitesi rektörünü yayınladığı bildiride kampüsteki kedilere bakan gönüllülerle ortak çalışılacağını belirttiğinde.
Aptal yerine konulduk.

Madness and foolishness prevails.

Just yesterday we informed that the Rector of Yildiz University had decided to cooperate with the volunteers caring for the cats of the campus.

We were fooled. Mr. Ismail YUKSEK lied to us.

We informed that our volonteers were able to stop the collection of the cats at Yildiz University campus. The following day, the Rector Ismail YUKSEK received a large number of complains from members of the public. He replied to some of them offering his cooperation and asking for us, the volunteers to assist them in the neutering of some of those cats…

Unfortunately, in the background, the Rector gave orders to his cleaning team of collecting as many animals as possible.

So this is the count of the missing cats. We have given them names, so that you can relate to them as individual lives, not just ” a cat”.

1. Mamie…a tabby mother feeding four kittens, Benek, Duman, Zeytin and Peynir.

2. Melek, a Black and white moter (her kittens were at the clinic for treatment)

3. Pamuk, a white mother

4. Pitircik, a tabby male

5. Cicek and Bocek, brother and sister.

In the meantime the Rector continue lying both verbally and by email correspondence. He went as far as saying that he has a cat a home and a dog in the garden.

We wonder what his cat thinks of him nowadays…

The employees of the Campus are witness to the catching, however, they dont want to speak out because of fear of being fired.

The Rectorate is now harrassing the university staff and students, volunteers feeding the cats. The academicians who don’t want the cats are now more and more virulent. It seems their many years of teaching experience has not taught them anything and, in a pathetic display of mob mentality are now ganging up against a bunch of cats.

The whole situation is pathetic.

Lets Adopt will do its utmost to bring out the attention of the media to this unfortunate situation currently taking place in one of Turkey’s institutions of higher learning…

Usually institutions/people get away with things because nobody notices their crimes. This wont be the case at Yildiz University.

Stay tuned.. we will be updating you as events develop.

Please drop a line to the rector or call him on:

-  We have confirmation from several sources inside the University that the cats living at the campus would have been caught and dumped somewhere else if volunteers hadn’t been there on the evening of the 14th of July. The Cat-Hunting job was not assigned to the University staff but to the cleaning company who is in charge of the cleaning and maintenance services. As a part of their duties that day the workers were order to stay over-time, and to use the heavy duty bags to collect as many kittens as possible. A van was provided and was waiting at the car park to carry the bags full of cats and dumped them at an unknown location.

- After the case was revealed there was a panic and contradictory messages started to circulate… Denie!!! Stop now!! do it later!!!

Last evening we received a ridiculous letter from the Rector himself stating that he is an animal lover and has a dog at his garden as well as a cat and a bird at home!! (we wonder what Mr. Yuksek cat thinks of the extermination instincts of his master. He must surely be quite dissapointed.

- We are monitoring closely the situation at the campus. We will update you. We are expecting anytime a letter of apology from the Rector himself stating that his actions were a mistake and that he will, from now on abide to the Animal Welfare Law 5199 that specifically prohibits the collection and dumping of animals away from their territory.

Until this statement is issued Mr. Yuksek’s name will be under constant scrutiny by Let’s Adopt.

Please drop a quick line or a call to Prof. Dr. Ismail YUKSEK, The Rector.

A lesson for the Rector of the Yildiz Technical University

Yildiz Technical University.

A respected center of higher learning, training ground for some of the brightest young minds in the country. So many people hold this institution in high regard.
Unfortunately, sometimes, even Universities can align themselves with the views and positions of the uneducated.
The story that follows would be bad enough on its own but it is truly scandalous and pathetic coming from such a respected institution.
I could tell the story with all kind of details but as I don’t want to bore you. I will be straight to the point.

- Rumours start circulating that the Office of the Rector of the Yildiz University will be catching the cats living in an out the campus and dumping them somewhere else. Apparently the rector, Prof. Dr. Ismail YUKSEK believes that there are too many cats and that they are dangerous animals filled with fleas.

-  We called the General Secretary and offered our assistance in neutering the cats and sterilize, vaccinate. They told us that under no circumstance they were planning to catch any cat and that they understood to drop the cats somewhere else would be dangerous to the cats. We would never do that! they say…

- Those who never tell the truth express themselves in the same way so we didn’t believe a word….

- In the evening we sent a group of volunteers to patrol the campus and make sure all cats were ok. And what did we found? To our surprise we bumped face to face with a couple of university workers busy catching cats and dropping them on a plastic bag to be closed with rope and thrown away.

- As usual people doing that kind of job are cowards.. they run away the moment they saw us, dropping the bags behind. Upon questioning they denied everything, first they denied having anything to do with the bags (and its content) then they acknowledged the situation but refused to tell us who they received orders from… then they ran away..

It was pathetic.

So, here is the truth. The Rector of the Yildiz Technical University, Ismail Yuksek, is responsible for this cowardly act. What were those two individuals going to do with the cats? were they going to drop them in the highway? Maybe in some garbage container?

Yildiz University is filled with students who are animal lovers. Many of them are our members. Mr. Yuksek, what a ridiculous way to taint the good name of your insitution.. Your actions and those of your team are wrong, illegal, criminal and cowardly. Furthermore they are useless.. No matter how many cats you catch and drop (or kill) there will always be new cats arriving. The only way to reduce the cat population is to neuter the existing cats and allow them to stay in their territory. Anything else is not only useless, its illegal, cowardly and ridiculous…

Please drop a quick line or a call to Prof. Dr. Ismail YUKSEK, The Rector.

Simply tell him that his actions are bringing disrepute to this respected institution and that he should use his brains for something productive instead of planning cat catching operations…

Unbelieveble….
