He has arrived to us inside a plastic bag. Roads are very slippery with the rains, someone couldn´t stop his car and hit Mr. White head on.
The little white cat was no adversary for a tonne of moving steel.
The driver didn´t even stop no matter how much the witnesses screamed.
Someone went to get kitty out of the road before he got torn to pieces by the passing traffic and noticed a faint moan… he was still alive.
To keep him warm they wrapped him up in a plastic bag and rushed to look for a vet. They went to a nearby clinic who told them they couldn´t do anything for him but referred him to us.
Mr. White is with us now. We have spent the morning taking care him him, helping him get out of shock and stabilising him. He has a craneal fracture, his jaw is dislocated as several broken ribs, one of which has punctured a lung.
His condition is critical but I give you my word.. We are going to do EVERYTHING in our hands to save this kitty.

Update:
Mr. White has gone through an emergency procedure… We have fixed his jaw and had to extract many of his teeth, some were broken due to the accident, others had been destroyed by his life on the streets. In order to secure he receives enough nutrients we have installed a feeding tube directly to his stomach.
His tongue is also in a terrible state. This may partly explain his extremely poor condition.. IMAGINE THE PAIN he has been living now with the tongue in such condition. Think of the pain a little blister would cause you in your tongue, imagine this…

Update 18 March
Little by little Mr. White is gaining strength. The feeding tube remains but hopefully not for long. In the meantime he settles at the clinic and he cuddles with our vet..

Update 24 March..
We have taken out Mr. White´s feeding tube… nothing complicated, just pulled the tube out. He felt very relieved and started dreaming of all the nice food he´s going to be able to eat again!

Update 28 March…
Mr. White´s treatment is officially over. He remains at the clinic while a foster or permanent home is found but he is officially a new cat!.. ready to go on with life!!!!

About five years ago I was in the same position as that driver. I ran over a kitty. It was the middle of the night and I didn´t see him coming. That´s where the similarity ends. We stopped the car, picked up the kitty up, took him to the vet and did what we had to do. He has been with us ever since. His name is Shadow and in his name I´m donating to save Mr. White.

This made me sick. I stopped the traffic countless of times to save cats, dogs, blocking the road with my car, and risked my life for them. I really can’t understand these people. I will make my arrangements and donate for him. What you do for these poor animals is pure magic.

With Spring around the corner here in Ontario I know that I will soon be seeing many injured/killed animals at the road side (death by car). Unfortunately I have never been able to make it to one before they died. Most people here (in my area) have very little compassion & it makes me sad.

I see a lot of animals being run over and left to death. It really devastate me and makes me cry.
That is so sad! I had my childhood cat hit by a car the very first time he got out.We have never owed outdoor pets. Sad to say he was found and placed on our front lawn.His neck was broken,he passed right away.I buried him in one of my fav shirts.Please save this kitty.

I have a story about my cat Zakk (my childhood pet). He was hit by a car (in the head first) and was knocked down. Neighbours told me he got up to run and got hit by a second car and that time got hit in the rear leg (femur bone). I took him to the vet in the middle of the night..looked in despair, much like this baby. Thought he was full of internal injuries but he had a shattered upper and lower jaw (both sides) and shattered (in many places) femur bone. He underwent surgery (had both upper and lower jaws wired and we fed him for two months with a syringe after he came off IV. Also had a pin put in his leg (that was eventually removed). He was in a cage for 2-3 months (2 months at the vet and 1 month at home). He was age 2 when it happened and he lived another 10 years. He ran around the yard, hunting and climbing. His jaw was super strong…hit bit was hard. He lived a joyous life in the country…after a very horrific accident on the road. Hopefully this baby will pull through ok too!!

i wish i could donate but i am flat broke and trying to care myself for 9 dogs 6 cats and a rabbit. I am praying for Mr. white thank you victor for trying to save him. i pray he survives this ordeal and makes a full recovery.
Same thing happened to my dog. Someone hit him and left him to die and maybe if they had the kindness of heart to tell us we maybe could have saved him. He was in critical condition and we put him through surgery to try and save him and I regret that now, but we did what we could. Wish we could have done more; thanks drivers!

OMG…this is so terrible…I just cannot believe that the person that hit this beautiful white cat never stopped. Six mouths ago I found a dead mama cat that was hit by a car an her three kittens wore laying on her still warm body in the middle of main street no one would stop an help the little ones I took mum an the three kittens home with me layed mama kitty to rest in the back yard now I have three sweet all balck Moggies the two boy are twins an one girl the boy are named kitten an the girl is named Cato. =^..^=

Once I ran over a cat with my car.. I stopped and carried it away from the street, but it died in my hands 🙁 that was really sad, I am still feeling sad and guilty because of that.. I wish, people would build fences around streets so that animals can´t get run over any more… Somehow I don´t want to drive with my car anymore at all since that .. when I have to, I go really slow under the tempo limit, especially at night.. but I hate driving.. it is all so fucking sad :(((

Made a small donation to help. Thank you for all the work you do. So sad people are so cruel to hit an animal and not care. I have come across cats in the roadway that have been hit and I always pull over and take the body to the humane society out of respect for the poor thing. Even if it is dead it should not be left lying in the roadway or roadside.
I have almost have had several accidents trying to avoid animals in the road. I have never hit one, and I would never leave a cat or dog on the side of the road. I can’t imagine what awful people could just hit an animal, and leave it to die. There are way too many heartless humans out there.You make a difference Viktor! So thankful you saved another precious animal. I hope Mr. White finds a great home!
