King Arthur
King Arthur

Yes there really is a King Arthur in Istanbul. This one, a golden retriever mix, was dumped one night near a river surrounded by a shanty town.

Somehow, by crawling through barbed wire and scrabbling over a two meter wall, he managed to find his own version of a Camelot, the dump site of a compound, a place where residents left bathtubs (which Arthur slept in); armchairs (where he held court); abandoned cars, where he… well you get the idea!

Arthur ‘lived’ here during the summer, during the first months of his life. His overtures toward humans were met by stones and at one time, a knife attack from a pedestrian, all for being too friendly, and too large. Despite his size, he was also hit by a car.

Arthur is currently living in a home with 5 other male and female dogs, all adult rescues. He gets along with humans and canines alike.

He is timid and quiet, but protective of his family. Despite his size, he is not an active dog and generally enjoys the couch potato existence the other 5 enjoy. He is neutered, with all his shots, leash trained, nearly house trained, and very responsive to a sensitive owner.

He’s looking for a Guinevere.

Do something for yourself this New Year, forget everyone else and think selfishly. Bring Arthur, this kind hearted king home and change your lives forever, yours and his.

You know you can do it.

Usual conditions apply.

  1. I hope there are plenty of offers for a loving home for this brave soul.

What a gorgeous dog–Golden and GSD? I hope he finds his forever home. I just agreed to take in my first "foster" dog. I haven't told my other three dogs yet.
