Yesterday I sent a note to all group regarding Kent, a golden retriever we have just rescued. All was normal until then.
What I could not imagine was what followed next…
Within a few hours I received over a hundred applications from people who had no dog experience but wanted to have a Golden Retriever. I also received emails from someone who has several goldens, 8 of them to be exact!, a Golden collector.
Let’s Adopt has three rules for dog adoption that have been put in place after two years of re homing “virtually”. Those three rules are the ones that enable us to minimize risk.

1. Must have a dog/cat currently
2. Dog/cat must live INSIDE the home.
3. Dog/cat must be fed an species appropriate diet, he must be fed RAW (www.rawfed.com)

Whenever have made exceptions to those rules it has ended badly and I had to intervene and collect the animals back.
This is why we cannot make exceptions. As much as I love the idea of your son/daughter getting a dog for Christmas I hate the idea of having to collect this dog shortly afterwards because is not what you were expecting.

If you fulfill the three conditions for adoption pls email me on v.larkhill@googlemail.com

Having said that, I want you to have a dog and give your children the opportunity to experience animal companionship.

We have a list of animals who are in desperate need of foster homes we have them in pensions all over the city, staying there for months.

Here is a list of the animals that need foster homes. If you want I’m willing to let you foster one of them and have you “on probation” if the fostering is successful after a family is found you will be able to adopt a dog from us. Please have a look at the list and understand my reasoning for it.. Based on your circumstances I would help you select the best dog for you, but based on your circumstances, not on the looks of the dog…

Pls consider fostering one of the animals in this list and please understand my only interest is the welfare of our animals.

Viktor
