Animals communicate with us. As long as you pay attention, you can understand them. Have you ever seen an animal with their human companion and you just knew the animal wasn’t happy? You felt it. You are paying attention. That’s how this being came into our world.
One day a lady brought a skinny cat to the animal hospital in Jakarta. This kitty looked nervous, terrified, and didn’t seem to be comforted by the woman. The hospital staff were paying attention and they felt something wasn’t right. When the woman got up to talk to the receptionist, the kitty made a daring escape from her cage and out the front door. The lady waited for a bit for her cat to come back, but she didn’t. Shockingly, this woman then just left making her own “escape”, leaving a sick cat alone in the streets near the clinic. She didn’t even leave her contact number, or address, and the hospital never heard from her again.
Soon after this woman left the kitty came back around. Cautiously staying around the hospital . The hospital is a haven for strays. They are fed healthy food and given shelter and some basic medical care. The vets and staff grew fond of the kitty.
Some time passed with still no news from this woman, which the hospital was actually relieved about, but they became worried for this little cat’s health. She was getting worse. They were doing what they could, but this little cat needed help and she needed it now. They declared this little kitty abandoned and needed someone to take responsibility for her. They called us.
We were that someone with your help. We took over and named her Jinx.
Jinx immediately got the full battery of exams, blood-work, and tests. The checkup revealed that Jinx was CRITICAL. She had quite a SEVERE PARASITE INFECTION. She also had bad case of WORMS, which seemed to be living inside her for a quite a long time. FLEAS infested her entire body causing terrible rashes. She was also MALNOURISHED and completely emaciated, despite being fed well by the hospital. But the worst of all was a life threatening case of ANEMIA. Further blood tests revealed that Jinx had Haemobartonellosis. This blood parasite can eventually kill a cat. It takes time to get as sick as Jinx was. That’s when we knew that poor Jinx was already NEGLECTED way before her lucky escape. Her escape was a last attempt at saving own life, taking her chances in a place she didn’t know, but somehow knew she would be taken care of.
Jinx survived her illnesses!
We cared for Jinx throughout her long battle of several months, and Jinx is now healthy, happy, and loving every bit of her life away from that woman. She doesn’t even try to escape from people now and adores being doted over.
THE SECOND ESCAPE!
So now that Jinx is healthy, we need her to do her SECOND GREAT ESCAPE! She needs to get out of Jakarta and on to a flight to the U.S. at the end of summer. We have a flight volunteer flying soon and it may be her only chance. But she needs a home before that can happen. If there’s a perfect home in another country, we can arrange that, too, much later.
Jinx let us all know that she never wants to go back to the sad life she had. We are paying attention and we know our community pays attention, too! Help us find her a home in the U.S or adopt her. Help us in her GREAT ESCAPE OUT OUT OF JAKARTA!

Why a flight to the U.S.? Why not a flight to the U.K.? Or anywhere else for that matter?
There is a volunteer flying out from Indonesia to the U.S. in August, but if you are serious in adopting her in the U.K. we can arrange that, too.
