An urgent call… three dogs are found together in an abandoned location. Two small Papillon girls protected by a puppy… a giant puppy to whom they stuck together like glue.

ROXANNE.

You read their story last week in this blog. The two Papillon found loving homes and they are now sleeping with their families but ROXANNE had to stay behind at our boarding facility. From the moment we saw her we realized that she would have to go through a surgery before going home.

Look at this video.. Pay attention to her elbows…

The condition is called BURSITIS- Bursitis is the infection of the bursar, small sacs that contain fluids and are found at joints. The condition is extremely painful and it´s causing problems in her ability to move.

We have been administering nosubhealth.com pharmacy antibiotics and anti-inflammatories but nothing has worked. She needs to go through surgery. Look at her… she´s just a baby….

Please, if you can, help us operate ROXANNE so that she doesn´t have to live in pain anymore… after the surgery she should find the perfect home. One that never betrays her.

Update 31 March…

Roxanne´s operation will take place tomorrow morning. I took her to our clinic tonight, she´ll spend the night there and will be operated first thing in the morning…

At first she resisted to come in and I don´t blame her, the car is tiny! 🙂

Roxanne met our vet, Juan, and she become instant friends with him. I guess the treats proved irresistible…

The operation went ok.. it was a tricky one.. the condition of her elbows was absolutely terrible…  have a look.. .

UPDATE 7th May…

The operation went well but one of Roxanne´s elbows was accumulating fluid again so we have to perform a small procedure to fix it…  She´s ok now.. we are keeping a close eye on it.

She´s feeling GREAT, life is GOOD!!!! Have a look!!!

Update 14 May…

That right elbow is giving us problems. Stitches came out due to internal pressure and we must operate again. We hope this will be the final one… We won´t give up on her.

Update 20 May .. ROXANNE´S RECOVERY CONTINUES!!!!

Roxanne´s second operation went well but we are leaving nothing to chance and she remains hospitalised.  Here is a video of Roxanne playing in the garden yesterday afternoon..

  1. Wow, poor baby, Roxanne. We all need to help with her surgery! I know her pain~~~ I have Bursitis in my shoulders and knees and I am 50 years old and on strong pain meds. and anti inflammatory yet, the pain and my ability to walk is severely impaired. Walking some days is soooooooo painful I have to lay down. For Roxanne who is just a baby pup, having such large sacs on her elbows is HORRIBLE, she deserves a chance to live life and enjoy it! Sharing and praying for her, and hoping I can soon donate to you, when I donate I will just let you choose where the $$ goes as I trust you 100%.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Lynne… don´t worry, I promise you we are going to fix this..

  2. Rita Lamey says:

Of course you need help and I give what I can to help you. You are such a beautiful and magnificent animal Roxanne. God bless you.

Viktor, is Roxanne an Anatolian Karabash? I had the priviledge of owning an Anatolian until just a couple of years ago, my Elsa. She was an incredibly wonderful dog and a joy to share my life with.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Karabash means Black Head in Turkish and yes, she looks like one..
She´s kind and mellow but I´m sure she will be protective of her family… she´s totally wonderful, a giant teddy bear..

  3. Linda Boyce says:

Where is she located. We currently have a 2 yr old golden retriever who would love a playmate

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

I know you and your team will take great care of her and she will surely find her forever home – hope she will find a new doggy friend too . Love and luck go with you lovely girl xxx

  5. Good to see Roxanne enjoying the beach, though she wasn’t sure about in the sea lol. Those elbows must really bother her. Hope the operations go OK x

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

It´s the first time she sees the sea … I can see a natural swimmer there somewhere 🙂

  6. Is she found a place she will go after the surgery?

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

No.. not yet.. after the surgery she will go back to the boarding facility where she is now..

Hi Victor do you know how much the surgery will cost?
Its a sham she can’t live with the 2 girls she saved, but that’s life and I know she will find a great loving home.

  11. Jim Corriere says:

    Thanks for helping.

  12. Viktor eres tan hermoso dios te bendiga siempre

  13. Donated:)

  14. Sabine Surhoff says:

I think she is a turkish Kangal, that is a sheperd dog, taking care of their people, facility or herdle.

  15. Kim Worthington says:

Pretty dog. Fab result. Well done LAG xxx

  16. Beryl E. Sanders says:

Roxanne is such a beautiful dog…..and one can see that she is a young dog. It is so sad that she is still searching for her companions and I am sure they miss her too! Thank you and the rest of your Angels for saving this beautiful dogs from a life of misery. I hope you find the most perfect and loving family for this wonderful dog…I hope she recovers well and once again will be pain free and able to run and play like a normal puppy. God Bless you all at LAg!

  17. I hate stories like this, when the animals get separated. Cases like this, they should be adopted together. They are family.

  18. Hello Kerry, please do not hate stories like this~ This story is beautiful, filled with hope and love.~ Roxanne was found with two smaller pooches who all hung out together to survive together on the streets. LAG or nobody knows how long they had been together, could have been days, or weeks, the important thing is they were all SAVED!!!! I doubt you wish them to have stayed on the abandoned lot just to stay together. Life on the streets for animals is very dangerous and causes a multitude of health & behavioral issues for some dogs. Both smaller dogs were adopted out, separately, both happy and enjoying their new lives with their fur-ever families. I hope you can understand it is very difficult to find a home for one dog, never-mind three dogs together. Lets Adopt Global, not only rescues these beautiful precious dogs and kitties, they give them all the medical their former owners denied them. Roxanne as you probably saw, had huge *very* ‘Painful Bursitis’ on both her elbows, she needed surgery which received~ (please be respectful and thank Viktor and his awesome team for providing for her.) Do you think it would have been *Fair* to the two healthy smaller dogs to have been denied families who were excitedly awaiting them, because you wanted them adopted together? Many rescues intentionally DO NOT have multiple animals; found as strays, adopted together, because, each animal needs to be independent and when strays are found, they may have depended on one and another for survival, now they can have loving families to depend on ….. I was just kindly trying to have you understand why they were not adopted together. Again, please be positive always *smiles*…..

  19. Stephanie says:

She is a beautiful dog! I would love to give her a home but I hope she can find one closer to Spain.

  20. Kim Worthington says:

Stephanie – they will bring her to you. You need only apply to Viktor. Tell him about you and your animals. I have Chappie from LAG. They brought him to my door in England! Free of charge.

  21. Roxanne is such a beauty….Yes, you can tell by looking into her face that she is stil a puppy. She was very protective of two little dogs but I was wondering if she would be just as kind and protective with cats. I am so happy that she is in the protective arms of you and your team and you are doing the best for her. She must have been in excruciating pain for a long time and hopefully soon, she will be pain free and be able to frolic like the happy puppy she should be. Please keep us posted of her continued surgery and recovery. God Bless you sweet young Roxanne…My prayers and thoughts are withyou sweetheart.

  22. I believe she is a Turkish Kangal, like our Leviathan who we call “L’Vie”. He appeared to be her twin at this age, except he is a red Karabash. (same same) He too had elbow issues at this age. Failed surgery led to completely non weight bearing, inflammation, etc etc. Our last hope came in a story I read about a dog having Level IV laser therapy and it saving his life. We went thru many vets, multiple surgeries, stitch ripping etc., before we found a vet who offered this relatively inexpensive (compared to surgery) option. Just over 200.00 US for 6 sessions. It has been over a year now, and he’s running full out, no more medicine, shots or surgery. The procedure was a miracle and applies to so many other health issues. He went from crying, off his food and refusing to stand on it, to this. Please look into this for Roxanne. Completely non invasive, has to be a Level IV though, due to joint density. Contact me if you have any questions at all. Blessings to you for what you do.. L’Vie was a rescue as well.

  23. marion crist says:

Bless her she is an beautiful Dog so glad you have made her better Viktor and she is ready to find her forever family x

  24. Stacy faraoni says:

Hi. Love Roxanne. Where are you located? Would live to make her part of our family

  25. szissy vonundzu says:

is that Mandy, who Roxanne is playing with on the last fotos placed here?

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Yes, that´s Mandy..
