Princess… she lived her entire life inside a rabbit box…

When you read my blog you usually read my own words, telling you our rescue stories, as they happen. Not today.

Today I´m going to use the precise words I read on Facebook that morning, words that made me leave everything I was doing and hit the road to rescue…

“Shortly after being born someone found me and offered me as a present to their daughter. They wanted me to “teach the little girl responsibility”, she wanted to have a puppy, or a kitty. They chose me.
During the first few days everything was perfect, but shortly after I arrived to the home they put me inside a cage used for rabbits, and there, in the darkness, I have spent all my life.
What was happening? I couldn´t understand anything. What did I do wrong? They stopped taking me out and letting me move around the house. The cage became smaller and smaller, I could barely move. Then they took me down to the garage, a room without windows, and they left me there.
I have lived all my life in a closed cage inside a closed garage. In the darkness. I could only move around in circles inside the cage. I don´t wish that hell to anyone. I never lost my hope that one day, after school, that little girl would come to the garage to open the cage and let me walk is buspirone a generic tramadol online pharmacy overnight shipping xanax around… “

By the time I was finished reading Tears were flowing down my cheeks. I dropped everything I was doing, made a couple of calls, found out the exact location of the kitty and rushed to get her from where she was.

The family, after much begging and negotiating had agreed to give her up.

What you see here is precisely the moment when I arrived with her to our clinic. Words cannot fully describe the emotions we both went through during those moments…

I´ve named her Princess… for a reason. I want her life to be pampered for the rest of her life, to know no hunger, no fear, no stress, no darkness, only the most ideal life a cat like her can live.

Princess was just fed and watered during her long torture. She was deprived of any other contact, with humans and animals. We want all that for her now.

She has been checked for FIV and FELV.. she is negative. She is totally healthy. I neutered her a couple of days after I rescued her. She is a lovely little cat that just never experienced any of the pleasures of life.

Are you capable of provide the perfect life to Princess? Please write to me on viktor@myletsadopt.com

Help us continue rescuing animals in the same desperate situation Princess was in. Please, if you can, contribute to our rescue fund…

  1. God Bless you Viktor for saving her!! Can not imagine how she felt all that time in the box !! People are so cruel!?
Please give us more detail when you get a chance , like the location and other things!
Thank you again for saving her life!

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Shahla.. she is in Spain but that detail is irrelevant… we don´t chose homes based on their locations but on wether or not we feel they are the perfect home for that particular animal. And then.. and then we get the animal to them at our expense. So, location shouldn´t be a factor to consider when the animal is with Let´s Adopt Global…

  2. And what happened to the people who did this terrible thing to her????

  3. Corinne VISNIKAR says:

Poor Princess, no animal have to leave in such conditions, without love, why take an animal to do that ?????

  4. norma jones says:

I see of one that is not Hurt, and but needs someone she cab=n call her own..I know they will be found..I believe she is but maybe 1-2 years old, and she still has many years in her Life..I Love Cats, I had but about 13, but as time went forward, so did the lives of my kitties..I know God wanted them, so I let them go, but as of now, I still have 5, and that’s been it for awhile..I know my Family will be Huge, because there have been many Puppies there too at my side, and we will have a Party..with all the Love and Affection..Dr. Viktor is my friend, and I know as long as time will allow, he will give the Animals Life..I sit here and cry Good Tears, because there is Love here, that will never go away..From all the Animals that I have known, not one is treated any different, and God remembers this, he is Happy, and there are Good Vibes with which we all know and feel..I want to Thank You Dr. Viktor, for showing your feelings, in what you know and what you do, to make the lives of the Animals so complete..Never feel I don’t know that you give us the outcome of their condition, because I am here and I Love and want to know all about them..Keep on doing what you have, and making me Happy to know it still goes on..Love You and your Staff for caring so much..God will reward you for all of this..God Bless..xxxx, Your Friend in Christ—Carol

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many many thanks Carol… the best part of all of this? to be able to touch the lives of so many, animals and people alive.. Many thanks for being there…

  8. Horrible people and a very bad little girl…… They should pay the price

  9. Looked like the poor kitty didn’t even really know how to walk around. I’m so happy that you went the extra mile. That you always go the extra mile. This is what advocating for animals is all about. How rewarding. 🙂

  10. Thank you so much for getting her out of hell. I would love to give her a happy home but I’m already at the limit of cats my landlord will allow. Please keep us all posted as you find her a home full of love and sunshine.

  11. pissed off animal lover says:

Thank god they didn’t treat her like those other subhumans treated Tay. so glad this kitty was saved. I have a feeling that these people meant no real malice, given that they were crying and begging to keep her, but that doesn’t excuse it. if you’re ignorant of an animal’s needs, find out first. If you can’t cut it, don’t do it anyway.

  12. Catrina Anderson says:

She is so sweet and beautiful, I wish we could take her but we have 5 kitties already and are going to be having another one who is in a bad situation come stay with us for awhile maybe furrever. I hope someone can step up, she is going to make a beautiful loving kitty for someone or even some family. God Bless Princess and Viktor and I pray she finds a wonderful furrever home.

Again, I cannot say this enough Viktor and your whole network are Angels sent from Heaven to speak for these poor little souls thank you thank you thank you

  13. ewa oscarsdotter says:

You saved her from a life in darkness and fear….One can see in her eyes the great HAPPINESS she feels when she very slowly starts to understand and thinks – “THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING !! I AM FREE !!” …..Bless…………

  14. Oh LAG she is so lovely. Someone will be pleased to have her. So thankfull for people like you. Can’t donate yet. But soon I will be in position x

  15. Jacqueline Robinson says:

  16. jude mignacca says:

Thank you, once again Viktor…she will be born again because of you. God bless you always. I do not want to imagine what would happen to the Princesses of this world without people like you.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

  17. Princess is so gorgeous.. I will come back to make donation.. I just got back from Seminar .. need to recoup will donate to Princess to help every little bid can ad up to a big thing only everyone of us rally for the good cause.
You and your organization are God Send.. keep up the good work we pray for you and your animals too. God be with you.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Tongbai.. hope the seminar went well.. Thank you for your help, always..
      xx

  18. Once again, it never fails to amaze me how callous and cruel some people can be. Princess’s former owners should be ashamed of themselves. NOBODY who is decent, caring and compassionate would ever treat an animal in such a staggeringly cruel and indifferent way. I’m so glad that you managed to get Princess out of their clutches and to freedom. Watching the video of her was amazing – to see her almost try to box herself in against the cupboard because she was so not used to having any space to move around, but then at the end of the video clip to see her walking forward and then happily rolling on her back with her legs in the air was fantastic! Despite her ordeal she looks fairly healthy and I’m sure once she gets more exercise by just walking around, etc, each day her little legs will get stronger and stronger.

I can’t donate at the moment unfortunately, although I should be able to by the end of the week hopefully, but I’m sharing this on Facebook and hopefully others will be equally moved by Princess’s story and give a little to help her. She’s going to make such a lovely pet and will make someone very happy ! !

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Cat.. glad you liked it.. she is staying with me right now and it´s a joy seeing her doing out of her shell.. hope she finds the perfect home very soon..

  19. Victor,
When rescuing an abused animal from a home, do you try to educate the family/people about responsible animal care? How can you ensure that these people do not go out and get another unfortunate pet? Susan

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

We try but we can´t ensure anything. Noone can really.

  20. Kate Cassidy says:

Thank you Viktor for always being there for these cats. Princess is just adorable. Can’t imagine the loneliness she suffered for years. Hope she gets the best home ever. She certainly deserves it…thanks again xx

  21. Dear God, who would do this to a cat? Just lock it up in a box in a dark garage? Of course I cried, but at the end when she rolled on her back and seemed like a normal cat. I can see she is frightened, but not so much of people as of being out of that enclosed space. Thank you so much for rescuing her and finding her a new home where she can experience freedom, interaction, and love. I can see from the video it’s not too late for Princess.

  22. I haven’t commented until now on any of your rescue stories, & although this isn’t as horrific physically as some of them, this has touched me to my core. I have 4 cats, 2 I have hand-raised, 1 rescue, & 1 stray, & all are my life. While I read & watched them video have 3 lying on me & had tears streaming down my face, which my youngest Murphy licked off. I had an instant connection with Princess & wish I could bring her home & give her the freedom & love she so deserves, but I’m in Australia & it would cost more than I could ever afford to get her here. I know you’ll find her perfect home Viktor, thank you for setting her free. You’re free now sweetheart, you will only know the love of people who care now.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Dear Joy.. the problem is not the costs. Adoptants don’t pay anything on transport or anything at all… we pay for all that. The problem is that Australia has an stringent quarantine process and it would be unfair for her to spend six months in a kennel…
      Many thanks for being there..
      Love
      Viktor

  23. I have read about many of your rescues and I have cried through them all, But this one Is just beyond words. This poor baby doesn’t even know how to stand up right or walk and for her X-Owners I wish only what they gave her and nothing more, To live in a small cage with the darkness of only their thoughts. Princess You are free of your Torture now, Free to love and Play. Viktor Please keep up the great work you do So many babies out there need you so badly. God Bless you and those that help you to save all that you can.

  24. I follow your work Victor, and it is really comforting to know there are people like you and your group. Most of the times I hear of cruelty against animals. I’m so happy this beautiful kitty is free.

  25. All my pets are rescues and they make wonderful pets. Once you get past the trust issues they are extremely loyal and grateful.

I would never consider buying a pet from a pet store or breeder, always go to rescue organizations and have fostered a lot of dogs through them also.

Pets give so much and ask for so little. They make us better people.

    Lisa.

  26. Jim Corriere says:

Nothing really to say that would alleviate this cats’ miserable existence. Thanks so much for being the God send that you are!

  27. It looks like they somewhat took care of her but why?? Why did they leave her in a box???? Did they express this to you ?? Why she was neglected like that??
I hope they dont run out and get another cat.
    Sweet looking kitty.

  28. Viktor,
Were these people unaware of the wrong they were doing to Princess? I fear they’ll get another pet and do the same.
Thank you for saving her from a lifetime of torture. God Bless all of you who are doing so much to save ask God’s creatures.

  29. sarah pratley says:

Such a gorgeous cat. Thank you for releasing her from her hellish prison Viktor.

  30. Robyn McCracken says:

I would love her but I live in New Zealand unfortunately. She would have been the perfect mate for my rescue cat Molly whom is around the same age. Poor baby, she needs lots of love. I can’t believe that someone would be so cruel.

  31. Sally Rowe says:

and they thought this taught a child responsibility? what monsters . . .

  32. Ghislaine says:

Poor little cat, she is so frightened. She needs some lovely people with plenty of time to give her so that she can learn there is such thing as “love”.
As to those people they will pay the price: what goes round comes round and whoever hurts God’s creatures, no matter how humble they are, will get their come uppance 10 times over!

  33. Chrisanne says:

God bless you for saving her!
I would love to give her a loving home! But unfortunately I live in Germany at the moment and I dont want her to be in a crate for so many hours to fly over here after she had been in a tiny cage for so long :’(
I’ll keep her in my prayers to find a forever loving home!
Thank God she’s with you right now and gets the care and love she needs and deserves! Thank you for saving her!!

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Chrisanne.. most of our adoptions go to Germany.. and they don´t fly in crates, the usually fly on the lap on our flight volunteers…

  34. aww how heartbreaking! i hate it when i read these stories, always makes me cry…so much animal abuse in this world! as much of it i have seen n read, it still makes me wonder how anyone can do these horrible things! i thank you n god for saving her, bless you viktor,i wish i could have her,i have 8 rescues already,so i pray she gets the best loving safe 4ever home ever! where is she located? god bless her please with the most loving person ever! thank you lord.

  36. ROSALINDA GARCIA DRYDEN says:

She is gorgeous…..the name fits her perfectly! They wanted to teach responsibility to the daughter but I guess they themselves as a parent had not yet learned responsibility. What parent would allow for a pet to live in these conditions!?. Wishing thar Princess finds a loving family that will treat her as a princess…..she deserves it. Good luck Princess and Viktor thank you for saving her.♡

  37. Kim Worthington says:

Pissed off animal lover – here is another one. I agree. Find out what the needs of the animal are. There are no excuses. Thank GOD you could take her xxx

  38. Can she come to the US? If she has a health certificate I think there isn’t a quarantine any more.

  39. Laurie McRae says:

God bless you, Viktor, for rescuing this BEAUTIFUL, SWEET, PRECIOUS fur Princess from her life being locked in not even a castle tower, but a box! I will never understand the cruelty & unkindness of humans to animals, but thank god every day that there are compassionate, kind humans like yourself.

I made a small donation to Princess’ fund. I wish it could be 100X more!
