The title of the blog says it all and it describes precisely what Hope´s plea. Read, because his story is the stuff miracles are made of.

A speeding car took his legs, a soulless owner took his life and dumped him in a shelter in Turkey, paralysed and unable to understand why his body wasn´t working.

Hope is little over a year old and since the accident happened his life has been nothing but misery, pain and suffering.

Surrounded by feces and urine, it must have been in that shelter that he contracted HEARTWORM, a most horrible condition where thick worms invade the host hear until bloodflow stops, and the animal dies.

And that´s how we found him… A beautiful dog, broken, stuck in a cage and with his heart full of worms.

HOPE had no hope.

We HAD to step in. Our volunteers rescued him and we flew him to our clinic where we are doing our absolute best to improve his condition starting by getting him a wheelchair and starting Heartworm treatment immediately.

The treatment is going long and tedious but there is no other option. Hope will have to be confined and kept as calm as possible to avoid the worms dislodging and blocking his heart, killing him.

Right now Hope has no family, so he will have to be treated in the clinic for months, and that is going to send his hospitalisation costs through the roof.

Please watch this video… I guarantee you you will never forget his most beautiful face…

There are very few organisations in the world able or even willing to accept a case like Hope´s . We know we can do it because we have you behind us…

Without you Hope has no life. With your help, we can build a new future for a dog that has lost everything. We are his only chance.

Please donate today. Help us save Hope´s life

Please help us spread his plea by sharing this post on Facebook.

Hope is going to need an extraordinary family that commits to him for life. If you are such extraordinary people please write to me on viktor@myletsadopt.com

We will be updating on Hope´s condition through our FB Page: Let´s Adopt Global

Update Friday 21 February…

Today, the most extraordinary thing happened. Hope´s new wheelchair arrived, we put it together in front of his eyes…  He was as excited as we were.

It was set… come on Hope, try your new wheels!!!

It was magical… these are just three images that can´t fully describe the total joy Hope has felt today…

AMAZING!!!!!

This is just the beginning… a visual image of Hope´s future.

Now he must continue his treatment for Heartworm while making sure he is kept calm and his heart rate doesn´t go up too high…

It´s going to be a challenge… 🙂

Update 7 March

Words can barely describe …

Update 12 of July…

Words cannot express the incredibly happy dog Hope is… Just look at these pictures!!!

Hope will be with us for a while longer… Please Help us continue covering Hope´s expenses until is the time to go home..

Many thanks!

HOPE NEEDS an extraordinary family that commits to him for life. If you are such extraordinary people please write to me NOW to viktor@myletsadopt.com

    This is horrible! Poor dog!
What amazes me of animals is that they never let pain get to them! What a great name you chose for him, Hope!
Donating to help. Please get him a beautiful wheelchair and get rid of those nasty worms.

  2. how much is the wheel chair?
where is he located right now?

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Hope was rescue in Turkey but right now he is in Valencia, Spain where we flew him two days ago.
There were no facilities for him to be treated in Turkey.
His wheelchair is about 600 USD but that´s not the biggest issue at all. The biggest cost of this rescue is going to be Hope´s heart worm treatment and his weekly hospitalisation bill… and then, of course, the challenge of finding him a home.
      Many thanks for your help.

  3. Tammye Weisert McBurney says:

I donated…..hope this is really going to help this doggy.

  4. John Rowan says:

Let his ‘owner’ crawl around on his belly, pulling themselves by their arms alone…then they will see the results of their actions…how can anybody do what has been done to this beautiful dog…please do all you can to save him…he’s not like this on account of anything he did, but that what was done to him..GOD BLESS HOPE…YOU’RE IN MY PRAYERS!

  5. Deb Slaton says:

      Thank you Joanna..

  7. Just made a little contribution. It’s small but I sincerely hope this could be a little help for such a beautiful one Hope. Thanks for Viktor and everyone who are working hard on giving him a brand new life.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Dear Jennifer, whatever you donate will of course help.
It´s the small actions of many that make a difference here….

  8. Gamze Katı says:

I have never hated my own people that much before! I have donated a small amount, I hope he gets well soon.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Tessekurler Gamze … thank you.

  9. Victor please help Hope I know you will. What a beautiful dog. A wheelchair would be great for him. How could he possibly deal with all of the pain he must have been in and is in now. You are an angel and your staff also. I really believe this. I donated a little. I am really tight with money right now.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Thank you Sue.. honestly I don´t think he is in pain now.. he must have gone through a lot in the past but I´m pretty sure he doesn´t feel pain now. he has no sensitivity in his lower extremities. Heartworm is not painful, just discomfort…

  10. tears streaming down my face….if I was in your area I would definitely adopt him and give him the love and care he needs. He has a beautiful face and a bright spirit – I will donate to help is recovery and share again and again on social media. You do the work of God and help these souls go on to live great lives.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Por supuesto!!!! No tengo ni la mas minima duda Lee..

  15. OMG!!!!…My heart is crying out for this beautiful and precious sweetheart!! She looks to be a golden and all I have to say is WHY??? Why does it have to happen this way for? Why do they have to suffer and be treated like shit for? Why do these sick, senseless, heartless bastards that treat these beautiful animals with NO sense of pity and shame and toss them here and there like there a dirty old rag being tossed in a pile of rubble? I am so furious and sickened to see this happening around the world!! I blame 1 person for all these tortures and suffering to these poor animals that have to live like this………Fkkng senseless, heartless sick people that do this to these poor innocent animals should have a stake going right thru them!…I’m sorry but these precious dogs and cats that we read about their suffering are animals that make a special pet to us and becomes a ‘BIG PART’ of our family……..animals are too precious for them to be treated and tossed around like this! Wish something could be done before more animals have to suffer. I would love to adopt Hope someday but I know she has a long road to recovery right now. So I will continue to pray for Hope, that she recovers fully worm free and I especially will pray extra hard that she will gain her strength in her 2 back legs. So please Victor, please help save Hope and let her walk on all her 4-fury legs again, please!! Let her recovery be a successful recovery. She is a beautiful and precious Golden, who I know is in the BEST care of hands right now………XO for Hope!

  16. Theresa Maull says:

Just doanted. also sending many prayers for Hope.

  17. its me again just letting you know Victor that my donation for Hope is on its way!!! I pray to God that she gets her wheelchair and that her heartworm is treated. When she is ready to move on with her life then I will keep my eyes and ears on alert because Hope is the kind of dog I would really love to have in my home as part of my family with open arms. I have worked with dogs in w/c and I take care of people with spinal cord injuries and would love to work with Hope……She would fit right in…….XOXO!

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Deidra… as always… thank you!
I will email you tomorrow regarding his adoption… please if I haven´t done this by tomorrow evening drop me a line ok?

  18. Paula Standley says:

Hello Viktor, once again you are tugging at my heartstrings. This is so sad and he looks to be such a sweet, sweet boy. Thank God you and your team are helping him. I cannot afford much, but I am making a small donation. I lost one of my own doggies, my sweet baby girl Lucy, just over a week ago and I am still mourning her loss from cancer that had been undiagnosed and just completely ravaged her body. She was only 11 years old. Not a youngster, I know, but still young to me. I had hoped to have many more years with her. I will donate for Hope in her memory and hope that this beautiful boy will pull through and find a loving family when he is well enough. Thank you for all you do.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Dear Paula… I didn´t tugged at your heartstrings.. hope did, and glad he did so.
Many thanks from us, I´m terribly sorry about Lucy. Please reach out to me the moment you want to bring new life into your home ok?
      Love
      Viktor

  19. lori reinhard says:

surely someone will adopt him. for every evil person there is many good ones. hope is handsome and seems well-adjusted. animals amaze me. what they endure and they still smile and trust. they make lemonade out of lemons. i will try to donate. it is a good cause.

  20. Kevin Inkster says:

Donated to help this poor baby, please do all you can to help

  21. Elisabeth Simons says:

Why are you treating a one year old dog with the slow HW treatment? The American Heartworm Association recommends against this, except in rare instances. If Hope is only one year old, she is probably Stage I or Stage II. Why not use immecticide? If you do the slow treatment, the whole year you are treating, the worms are damaging the dog’s heart! Besides, there is some indication that heartworms can develop an immunity to ivermectin…and you must use this in conjunction with Doxycycline … and Doxycycline was become increasingly expensive, at least in the United States. PLEASE RECONSIDER….DO THE FAST TREATMENT! In the long run, it is cheaper (although I know it’s more expensive at the outset), and the dog has a much much better chance of full recovery without heart damage. This is something I know a great deal about. I work extensively with HW+ dogs here in Tennessee. I love your work and I have great respect for your doctors. I donate when I can although at the moment, all of my available funds are going toward HW treatment locally. It all makes me feel sick – especially because HW disease is so easily avoided.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Dear Elisabeth.. I will discuss this with our vets. I will be in touch with you tomorrow.
Filaria is not an endemic disease here in Spain, and Hope comes from Turkey. Our vet´s view is that the fast treatment may increase the risk of blockage or the worms as they dislodge.
I will discuss this with your team.
      Best

  22. Madelon Michel says:

He looks like a blond lab to me, so sweet! I donated a little as I live on retirement. I hope thaat is name will be an omen for his future!

  23. Deb McCaffrey says:

Donated – thank God for people like you

  24. Thank you Viktor god bless you

  25. Victor, I don’t know if you are familiar with the dog called Kabang that saved her owners children in a motorbike incident & litterally had her snout ripped off in the process. She was sent from the Phillipines to San Francisco University of California at Davis (UC Davis) Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) where they dealt with her facial issue but first had to treat her for heart worm infestation. They treated her with several injections of Immiticide – after the first 5-6 weeks of bed rest, then a second one – with some anti nausea & anti inflamatory drugs too, then the next one the following day, followed by a further six- eight weeks bed rest.
” These back-to-back second and third injections are standard protocol for treating heartworm. UC Davis veterinarians expect this to be the final treatment for her heartworm condition. ” She was successfully treated. Here is the link – you may wish to contact that Vets at that hospital. It seems to treat her – took a total period of a bit less than three months. http://www.vetmed.ucdavis.edu/vmth/small_animal/kabang/timeline.cfm

    Donated.

  26. Lisa Elrafei says:

Viktor you are an angel. You are a shining beacon in a very dark world. I cannot fathom from where you draw your strength…I was crying before the video even started. I have donated and I’m sharing now, and I wish sweet little Hope the very, very best. Thank you for what you do for the animals.

  27. Giselle Tonee says:

Just donated $100. Hope he pulls through and gets a wonderful home. bless all you tireless and loving workers.

  28. Does Hope recognize when he must urinate or defacate? Also, how are his legs being protected as he drags himself across grass, etc.?

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

He recognizes he must defecate, goes to a corner and does it. Urination happens unvuluntarily. We just got him, today he is getting a wheelchair, I have ordered leggings, nappies and a lot of equipment.

  29. Beverley Covert says:

I have donated to Hope. I know you will give him the best treatment. Lots of hugs and kissess for him, and a forever home with lots of love. xxxooo

  30. Zara Benton says:

    És lindoooooo.

  32. Dear Viktor & team, once again Thank you for giving life to Hope without you Hope would not of survived. People ask why spend all this time & money saving one dog when surely kinder to PTS, I say look at their faces, they want to live, they want to be loved & deserve this chance without you then Hope had no hope. When I can I will try & increase my monthly payments but at the moment on a pension & 4 dogs & 4 cats money is tight. I have shared Hopes story on facebook. Am so glad Deidra has offered Hope a home as she sounds perfect I so hope this will work out & if tears were gold then money would be no problem. Love to Hope deserves to find all the love in the world. THANK YOU ALL>

I will try to help as much as I can but I am single and my little one is all I have. Please keep helping these beautiful animals.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Hi Sue.. Coco is due to fly to Spain to be operated very soon. Unfortunately to get a dog out of Turkey requires a certain bureaucratic procedure and it has taken us far too long this time to organise it. She will be here soon.

  85. Viktor, thank you so much for all you do… until recently I’ve never been in a position to donate… I plan to start soon. Every day at work the stories you bring us restore a bit of my faith in humanity, and it makes me so happy that my dogs have a warm and loving home with 2 parents that care about them immensely, I have volunteered at many animal rescues in my life, and now that I don’t have the time to do so any more I feel there’s no other organization (except maybe dogtown in nevada) that deserves the help and support as much as yours. You guys are amazing, please never stop!

sorry it took too long to approve the comment… we do this daily usually but this time yours escaped us.

What an incredible organization you have. If my circumstances were better I would adopt that beautiful dog. God bless you all for what you do.

  88. Victor he is so happy! TY for all you do. I am sending more money to help take care of this beautiful boy.

  89. Thankyou for your work with this beautifull dog

  90. I spent four years in Turkey, with some of that time being spent helping at the local animal shelter. The misery, cruelty and horror that animals face in that country EVERY DAY is beyond appalling. Many people there believe they are the only creatures fit to walk the Earth. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the power to rid the Earth of ALL ABUSERS this night~! THANK YOU for all that you do! Your place at the Rainbow Bridge is secured.

So ecstatic he is rid of his heartworms and has his wheelchair. It just broke my heart seeing him in the first video paralyzed and could only get around with his two front legs. It made me cry so hard, but just so so so so happy for him that he has a loving fur-ever home now!! He probably would not be as happy as he is now if it wasn’t for you and your amazing staff who work miracles everyday on these precious animals!
