When you face a crisis, you know who your true friends are.
Magic Johnson
The current economic crisis affecting most of the world is wreaking havoc in families that previously felt secure, safe, that had plans and dreams for the future. Many of those dreams have been put on hold, or scrapped altogether. And at times, those families resolve has been put to the test in ways they never expected.
I met them this morning. A beautiful young family, living in Spain for the last five years. They arrived from Ecuador looking for a better life in one of the brightest economies in Europe and by the time they landed they found themselves literally trapped in paradise. The husband, Luis, used to flip burgers and ribs in a fast food establishment before the restaurant closed down, Rosa cleans homes, their beautiful and kind daughter goes to school and dreams of being a nurse, sometimes she accompanies her mother to the homes she cleans and gives her a hand.
Five years ago, when they arrived, someone took them to the local shelter and they adopted Chacha, a pug that had been dumped by the owners because of an unspecified health issue. For five years beautiful Chacha, a little firecracker of a pug has had a great life with this loving family. She’s been loved and spoiled to no end. Just have a look at the two videos here, and you will understand.
For the last few months Chacha has been very ill… the family took her to the vet and they couldn’t figure out what it was, until they finally took an Xray and they saw it, there, crystal clear.
Chacha has developed TWO BLADDER STONES, Two and half centimeters each that, to put it simply, are hurting her like hell. As a result she whimpers in pain most of the time, her character has changed. Anyone that has had stones, either in the bladder of the kidneys can tell you.. it’s hell.. it’s fire down there.
The family is willing to do whatever it takes to save her life but due to their circumstances, they just can’t afford the operation Chacha so desperately needs.
So there I was… Chacha was crying, the family was crying… I resisted, gulped a few times and ended up crying too!.
I, on behalf of Let’s Adopt! have promised this family that we are going to take care of their baby, that we are going to operate CHACHA, restore her health and allow their family to remain together.
When you face a crisis you know who your friends are, this poor family faced a crisis and they discovered they had no friends. And then, by an incredible stroke of luck, they met Let’s Adopt! Global, they met YOU.
Let’s rally together, once again, and let’s do something inspiring and far reaching. Sometimes as important as saving a little pug that is going through hell…

Poor Chacha. I’m so glad her family found you. I pray that she will be Ok.
I’m on limited income but I hope my little gift will help.

My miniature Yorkshire terrier had stones in the bladder and so tiny for an op. It is a terrible feeling not to be able to help them. I would have sold anything to have his operation. So pleased to donate to help another family save their pet. Read your page and donate when I can which isn’t always as often as I would like. Great compassion you all have.
MAny thanks Joan… I’m really thankful and glad you understand what we do.
Thank you..
Viktor
Will share we have 2x Pugs & could not bear to see them suffer, will donate when pension goes in.
Have a bit left over this month have donated will do again when can.
I am on a limited income but donate every month for whatever cause needs it. It isn’t much as I have my own rescue dogs to care for but do not like to see or hear of others suffering. Hope Chacha gets the op as soon as possible. Did Alex and Pinkie get their forever homes? Keep up the good work xx
I don’t know if my donation went thru. Do you send a confirmation e-mail?
You say pugs don’t create feelings of compassion, well this is the second time I’ve donated towards Chacha’s operation. I hope you are able to perform her operation soon.
Many thanks Helena… yes, unfortunately that’s the impression we got..
Her operation will happen tomorrow, many thanks for your help… news coming soon..
I hope my little donation can help. Poor little thing, to be in such pain!! I hope she will get better soon. Wonderful work you do, Victor/Ivan!
I’m so happy she will recover ! xxxxxxxx
WHAT is the 2nd thing she had ?? I’ve never heard of it and it sounds terrible
I think many animal lovers may have lots of “cute animal” pics coming to their newsfeed, so they may not realize that Chaca was hurt. She looks happy in the picture. I didn’t notice right away myself. I can’t understand how people could not feel love and compassion for this lovely dog. I donated too, so glad that you exist. God bless!
What huge stones they are – almost the size of avocado seeds! Even a bigger creature would have been in agony … and then you found another problem – this surgery came just in time! I’m so glad to read that Chacha will be going home to a family who love her – they must be feeling such joy and relief now. You are amazing I’ve said before and I’ll say again, that I’m so very proud to be just a small part in your rescues. L x
As a pug owner, I understand the feeling of the family who would want to save Chacha. I would have done the same thing too. My heart goes to the loving family and Chacha. Hope she will recover soon. With this I would like to donate some to help Chacha recover but Paypal doesn’t seem to have my country listed on their system. I’m from Indonesia. So, how can I donate for Chacha?
