Sahip Çıkalım! : Aidiyet
Her gün, dünyanın dört bir yanındaki Sahip Çıkalım! üyelerinden onlarca mektup alıyorum. Daha önce hiç konuşmadığım insanlar bana yazarak, en içten duygularıyla tavsiyelerimi almak istiyor, benden onlara yol göstermemi, yardım etmemi rica ediyorlar; lafın kısası, kendilerini mektuplarında birer hayvansever olarak tanıtmakla başlayan bu insanlar, Sahip Çıkalım! ailesinin ferdi olmaktan ne kadar büyük mutluluk ve gurur duyduklarını, grubumuza katıldıktan sonra hayatlarının ne denli değiştiğini anlatıyorlar.
Tüm bu mektupları okuyorum, her birini, tek tek, gülümseyerek. Sadece bir kaç mektuba cevap verebiliyorum ama hepsini okumaya çalışıyorum.
Sonra düşündüm ki…çok fazla insan bizi okuyor, takip ediyor, bize güveniyor, ve bu insanları tanıyabilmek için bu mektupları okumaktan başka bir seçeneğimiz yok.
Bu durumu değiştirmemiz gerekiyordu…Üyelerimizin kimler olduğunu bilmem gerekiyordu; dahası topluluğumuzun birer parçası olan her bir üyenin, geri kalanları tanıması, kendileri ve hayvanları için bir yardım söz konusu olursa/olduğunda kendilerine kimlerin destek olacağını bilmeleri gerekiyordu.
Böylelikle, bu ruhla, kendi profil fotoğrafıma logomuzu dahil ettim.
Bundan sonra olaylar tamamen beklenmedik bir şekilde gerçekleşti…Düşünce bir virus gibi yayıldı. İnsanlar, hiç bir açıklama beklemeksizin, dünyaya, Facebook’a ve üç yüz milyon kullanıcısına bu çok özel topluluğa mensup olduklarını göstermeye başladılar. Üyelerimizin hepsi zaten halihazırda hayvanseverlerdi, fakat davalarını yeni bir boyuta taşımış oldular. Logomuzu profillerine dahil etmekle, yeni ve çok önemli bir adım attılar; onlar bu grubun elçileri, sözcüleri ve savunucuları oldular. Hepsi şu an, diğer insanlara grubumuza (buraya tıklayın) nasıl dahil olacaklarını, tamamen yeni olan bu aşamaya nasıl katılacaklarını açıklamakla meşguller.

Topluluğumuz içersinde gerçekten iyi bir etkileşim var ve bu durum çoklukla benim vasıtamla gerçekleşiyor. Bunu, grup üyelerinin kendi aralarında birbirleriyle konuşmaları ve kendiliklerinden ilişkiler kurmalarını sağlayarak yeni bir seviyeye taşımak istiyorum; çünkü Sahip Çıkalım!’ın altında yatan gerçek güç burada, birbirimizle kurdugumuz ilişkilerde.

Let’s Adopt: Belong
Every day I receive tens of letters from Let’s Adopt! members from all over the world. People I have not spoken to before write to me in a
completely candid way to ask for advice, guidance, a favour, or simply, to introduce themselves as animal lovers and to tell me how
happy and proud they are of being part of the Let’s Adopt! family and the way the involvement in our group has changed their lives.
I read all those letters, each and every one, with a smile on my face. I only get to reply a few but try to acknowledge them all.
And then I thought… so many people read us, follow us, trust us, and there is no way for us to know who they are?
We needed to change this…. I needed to know who our members were, furthermore, I wanted all our members to know who else out there is part of our community, the people who will stand up for them and their animals if/when this is needed.
So in this spirit I incorporated our logo onto my profile picture….
What followed next was totally unexpected… the idea spread virally, without the need to explain anything people decided to get involved and to tell the world, Facebook and its 300 million users, that they belonged to this very special community. Our members were already animal lovers, but they have taken this advocacy to a new level. By incorporating our logo they have taken a very important step, they have become the group’s ambassadors, spokespeople and advocates. They are now busy explaining people how to join our group (click here), how to participate at a completely new level.
This experience proves to me once again that having an honest and direct approach, not playing political games and standing up for what it right builds trust, and in the online world Trust, not Cash, is the currency that matters.
There is a fair amount of interaction in our community but most of it happens through me. I wanted to take this to the next level by enable people to start talking to each other, building their own relationships through our group members, because this is where the true power of Let’s Adopt! lies, in the relationships we facilitate.

I need all of you to take fresh breath in every morning in this country…we need to refresh the spidery minds in our lands. We should ACT. For ourselves, for our animals, for our children…For earth itself…
When you decide to open your eyes, its depressing and painfull. When you figure out that YOU can make a change, you struggle. When you feel that you’re not alone, you feel stronger. Stronger you get more success you have, and more happiness as well.

I only started to get involved in Let's Adopt! for about a month ago and what I'm realizing more and more is that this is a community like no other… I've never been a part of anything like this before. This is like an adventure for me, the begginning of a new journey. I'm a shy girl, but do not hesitate to add me as a friend on facebook, I know you are good people.
