Ankara, 8 months ago… A baby dog is abandoned on a construction
site. The workers find him, they don’t know what do do with him so
they chain him to a cement wall and keep him alive by feeding him
bread and whatever is left from their daily lunch (mainly more bread).
This went on for 6 months, until the family owning the construction
site found us and asked us to find a good home for the dog. It was
clear that the animal was in desperate need of help so we quickly
organized his transfer to Istanbul.
This is Aspen, an Alaskan Malamute. A dog so beautiful that I have
people fighting for him all over Turkey already. People that want to
chain him on top of their roofs, or their gardens, or give him as gift
to their girlfriend. You can imagine the answer those people are
receiving…
Aspen has the curse of beauty. He is incredibly beautiful, so he
attracted the wrong people, people that see in him an status symbol.
Our condition for adoption would be that the family would have to have at least one other dog and that the dog would have to be an adopted stray dog.
We were lucky…
We found him the perfect family…
