Hunted

Hunted

-  We have confirmation from several sources inside the University that the cats living at the campus would have been caught and dumped somewhere else if volunteers hadn’t been there on the evening of the 14th of July. The Cat-Hunting job was not assigned to the University staff but to the cleaning company who is in charge of the cleaning and maintenance services. As a part of their duties that day the workers were order to stay over-time, and to use the heavy duty bags to collect as many kittens as possible. A van was provided and was waiting at the car park to carry the bags full of cats and dumped them at an unknown location.

- After the case was revealed there was a panic and contradictory messages started to circulate… Denie!!! Stop now!! do it later!!!

Last evening we received a ridiculous letter from the Rector himself stating that he is an animal lover and has a dog at his garden as well as a cat and a bird at home!! (we wonder what Mr. Yuksek cat thinks of the extermination instincts of his master. He must surely be quite dissapointed.

- We are monitoring closely the situation at the campus. We will update you. We are expecting anytime a letter of apology from the Rector himself stating that his actions were a mistake and that he will, from now on abide to the Animal Welfare Law 5199 that specifically prohibits the collection and dumping of animals away from their territory.

Until this statement is issued Mr. Yuksek’s name will be under constant scrutiny by Let’s Adopt.

Please drop a quick line or a call to Prof. Dr. Ismail YUKSEK, The Rector.

  • HOPE THE RECTOR FOLLOWS THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE AMERICAN BIOLOGIST. THE ONLY WAY IS CASTRATE TO REDUCE CATS COLONIES. THAT’ S WHAT I DO IN THE SEASIDE VILLAGE OF L’ ESCALA COSTA BRAVA SPAIN

  • Dear honorable Rector Ismail Yuksek,

I have read about your weird actions against cats…

and now I ask myself why a head of an university is degrading himself as stray animal control?
Isn’t the first and honorable duty of an university to teach young people and to research?

Is your university teaching how to kill cats? How to catch them and how to stick living creature into plastic bags like trash so that they will suffer or die from lack of oxygen?

Is this the purpose of an higher education to treat animals as trash and so to train young people to kill their companion animals?

I recommend to stop such weird and brutal actions, because the Yildiz Technical University will receive a bad reputation by such actions very soon.

    Best regards

    Barbara Kowollik M.A.
