I enter the overcrowded animal shelter and ask to be taken to the cat section.
I’m trying to understand the challenges they face in their cat operations and figure out a way to improve the shelter.
And then, on cage 19 I see her… She’s beautiful, she’s proud, she’s blind…
Her eyes are about twice the size of how they should be, the cornea is destroyed, so is the retina. Glaucoma switched off the lights for this beautiful cat.
Clara was a street cat, at some point she was neutered in a program of Trap-Neuter and Release, before the onset of glaucoma that got her in the state she is today.
Clara’s eyes are not her only problem. She is also battling a respiratory infection caused by a virus and is severely anemic. It it looks like we may need to perform a blood transfusion to get her out of danger. Right now, her blood levels are worryingly low.
Precisely one year ago, the 31st of December 2011 I spent my New Years Eve desperately trying to find a blood donor for Mr. Darcy. Darcy survived and went on to have a wonderful life. It looks like it’s now Clara’s turn.
Clara is our last rescue of 2012, or at least the last rescue featured in this blog. This has been an extraordinary year full or incredible events that on a daily basis restore my faith in human to buy xanax beings. The rescues of Vania, Shuuja, Tidus took place this year…. Amazing stories of courage and sacrifice and examples of what this is incredible community can achieve when it acts inunison.
Please, for the last time this year, let’s all rally together to save this one animal for whom all hope was lost and now finds herself in our hands, the best hands possible, the hands of Let’s Adopt! Global…

UPDATE February 8
Clara… today…
We told you we would save her, we told you we would end her pain, we told you we would bring light into her life again.
And so we did… ย Here is Clara (the cat of the cage 19)… living the life she was born to live. Going to bed with a full belly, sleeping in a beautiful bed as part of a pack. Clara has zero worries.. zero. None. And that’s what we do…
CLARA was treated and rehabilitated thanks to the amazing support of our incredible community to the Simba Fund. Please, should you wish to support our work so that we can continue saving animals like her, please contribute to our working Fund today…
Many thanks!…
Viktor
P.S. Clara is looking for an amazing home… are you the one? Write to me telling me everything I need to know about you and your family and including your FB profile link… viktor@myletsadopt.com
I can adopt her, I am in Tulsa OK. Cathy
Oh Viktor – what a wonderful cat … I can almost feel her elegance despite her poor, poor eyes. I know you will help Clara … my small donation is only a drop in the ocean but I hope others will chip in quickly to give this little girl a chance for a pain-free though always dark future. I’ll be looking out for updates and will think of her a lot. L x
POOR GIRL!!! She is beautiful indeed. Will you be operating on her eyes ? It is so sad that they left her like this instead of treating her eyes. You are wonderful people to take these cases on and the challenges you and your staff face. I am happy to be part of the journey with you and keeping us posted. Prayers and love go out to you precious Clara and you are in the best of care and love <3 AMAZING ANGELS YOU ALL ARE !!! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR STAFF FOR THE LOVE, CARE AND COMPASSION YOU SHOW AND GIVE TO THEM !!!

I’m so glad to see how well Clara is doing. I had wanted to assist but because of the way my company does payroll I was unable to meet the deadline for donations. I only became aware of her situation just a few days before NewYear. Please let me know via e-mail or f.b. if I can still make a donation to defray the cost of her surgery. I’ve had sick animals of my own and it just breaks me inside to see such suffering. What you and others like you do restores my faith in humanity.
Hi Todd, many thanks for your note, just saw it now.. you ARE GOING TO LOVE THE UPDATE ON THE BLOG…. check it out ๐

I have always wanted to help animals for as long as i can remember. I know that is my true calling. But how does someone who barely makes the bills make a difference. All i have is my home and heart along with loyalty
Thank you for keeping Clara safe and well.
Did they take out her eyes or did the swelling just go down and now they are just smaller but she is still blind ? hope you have a update for us shabbat shalom
Clara looks so beautiful. Thank you.
Clara is gorgeous and reminds me of my cat that I rescued from the streets of Athens, Greece. He is blind, had to remove his eyes when he was a kitten (they hadn’t fully developed). Mojo is amazing – you wouldn’t know he was blind. He lives with my two amazing dogs and has mapped out more than several different homes. The only condition is that I do not let him out of the apartment – on the balcony, ever…he is an intrepid adventurer and I have to keep him out of harm way – so indoors he stays, and quite happily so. He will turn 15 this year!
So sad that her eyesight is lost. She wil find a caring, loving home!! Thank you for all which you do for the unfortunate animals..
