‘I’m the only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; I will not refuse to do the something I can do!’
Helen Keller
Heroes are everywhere. They are next to you while you pay for groceries, they serve you coffee, they teach your children, they are homeless, they are rich, they are old, they are young — they are everywhere. Some don’t even know they are heroes.
Then something happens.
They see wrong being done and without any regard for themselves they act. They do. They change the course of fate and forever change a life.
Let’s Adopt is about those everyday heroes.
Our hero, a young woman in Indonesia, was driving through a bad part of the city when she saw a dog in a terrible state. She wasn’t able to get him but the next day she went searching. She found him chained guarding a parking lot, with one eye bulging out. He was standing there stoic, as if to be any other way would mean he’d be useless and killed.
She approached Max and a mob of suspicious people began to gather. She was terrified, but she knew she wasn’t leaving without Max. Focused and calm, she managed to convinced the men to let her help him. A minute later she and Max, heavy chain still attached, were driving away through the mob.
Max’s condition is worse than we thought. The eye is destroyed, he’s malnourished, and has a dislocated hip. The injuries are over a week old. He was hurt, he was in pain, but instead of having him treated at the vet, they kept him chained up doing his job guarding the slum parking lot…
Max is now with Let’s Adopt and no, he is not returning to the parking lot. We are making sure Max gets everything he needs, while he is being prepared for surgery. Let’s Adopt is now guarding Max!
Let’s Adopt is about everyday heroes. It’s about making the lives of animals like Max valued and cherished.
Max will need several surgeries, the first one is scheduled for today.
Please be Max’s hero and donate so we can cover his medical bills:
UPDATE April 24, 2015
Max’s first surgeries went well! The socket was badly infected so he looks like a prizefighter right now but he’s safe and recovering. He had the destroyed eye removed and was neutered. The more complicated surgery to repair his hip must be done at a specialist. Poor Max. What a life of hell he had. It’s only up from here, Max!! Only up!
UPDATE May 22, 2015
Max is doing really well. Look at him smiling in the sun during a nice walk. He still has a long way to go. In August he is being flown to the United States to undergo hip surgery. The capabilities in Indonesia for the type of surgery he needs are very limited and not worth the risk to Max.
For now, Max needs a foster as soon as possible in Indonesia while he waits for his flight. Please share and, if you can, foster him. He’ll also need a foster in the U.S. while he undergoes treatment here.
One of the best drugs for relieving panic attacks is https://www.therapyheals.ca/xanax-1mg/. The doctor promised a cumulative effect: after completing a three-month course, you will get rid of anxiety and panic attacks for a year.
Please be Max’s hero and donate so we can cover his medical bills:

Hello and thank you for your kind offer! We have contacted you on the email address you have provided, please check your mail.
I’m confused. The dates for updates are in 2015 and yet I received an email just recently about his hip surgery. Has he waited over 1 year to get the surgery?
Hi, thank you for following up on Max! Since you first heard of him he has been to a few consultations with specialists, which were needed to evaluate his situation. When this particular damage happens to a joint sometimes surgery is, and sometimes it isn’t the right approach. Depending on what email you have received it could have had to do with an Xray he needed done for one of the consultations.
