You are about to read the story of a very special kitty. A kitty named Bambi. Bambi needs urgent surgery. Please, after reading, don´t forget to SHARE her plea on Facebook and Twitter…

This is the first picture I ever saw of Bambi. It arrived to me in the middle of the night as an urgent plea through Whassap. Her owners had allowed an eye infection to get out of control and she was taken to the dog pound to be killed.

They never tried to treat her condition, had they done that she could have saved the eye, but it was too late for that. And so, instead of treating her eye those people opted for the easiest and most brutal solution of all.. to KILL HER.

All I could do was to imagine her fear being locked up with all those dogs… such a scary place for a kitty… her pain, the built up pressure of that swollen eye popping out of her socket… her sadness for having watched her family dump her on a wire cage and walk away.

I drove to the pound first thing in the morning and there she was, all curled up in a corner hiding behind some crumpled newspapers. She was totally covered in fleas and too afraid to even Meow, but judging by the way she relaxed the moment I held her in my hands, she knew she had just been saved.

As I drove the little Sweet orphan to our clinic I gave her a name, BAMBI. Bambi… she is THAT special…

Please watch her video:

Bambi suffers from anemia and she is currently being stabilised. Her left eye is terribly infected, her cornea had been badly damaged and so is the iris and the optic nerve. There is no solution other than to amputate the eye, we must do that before the damage becomes much greater and infection spreads through the brain.

Update 31st October…

Bambi has been operated… The surgery went well…
Her eye had burst and there was no way she could wait any longer. She is so tiny, we feared a systemic infection could take her life.

It was an extremely delicate operation but it was successful and Bambi is not recuperating and much much more comfortable!

Bambi is doing well and recovering from the surgery nicely. Now we are going to focus in finding her the perfect home!!!
Bambi is incredibly sweet and she has a frailty that makes you want to hold her and never let her go. And that´s exactly what you should do. Please open your home to Bambi. Please write to me an email on viktor@myletsadopt.com telling me everything about you and your family including your animals.

And so, Bambi found the perfect home and yesterday she flew there, leaving behind all bad memories and looking forward to the most beautiful life…

She is absolutely beautiful. She reminds me of Grumpy Cat! but the cutest not-so-grumpy version.
I have been following your work for the last year and I really believe in the power of this community.
I´m donating $40 towards her surgery! Please everybody, do whatever you can!

  2. Susan Thornton says:

What a precious girl….. I hate a lot of humans. xxx

  3. Susan Greenberg says:

How can people be so heartless and cruel tothat precious baby and dump it at a high kill pound? When you adopt an animal, it’s for life.. I wonder what they do to their children! Please do everything you can to help sweet, precious Bambi. I am trying too cold in the flood of tears welling up in my eyes.

  4. She is really beautiful. I will try to donate shortly. Hold on Bambi. You are safe now and you will have a new family very soon!

  5. How much do you need? I donated 50$.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Sylvie… at this stage we don’t know for sure, we never really know how much is going to end the final bill of any of our rescues… In any case the operation and post op won´t be less than 2.000… then we hope there won´t be any complications.. fingers crossed…
Many thanks for your help … really means the world..

  6. Dimi Tzounakos says:

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Hi Aline.. yes.. it seems to be due to the herpes virus affecting her..

  8. sarah pratley says:

Such a beautiful little kitten. How could anyone not see she needed treatment sooner? And then to take the easy route of dumping her at the dog pound. The way some people treat animals appalls and sickens me. Thank goodness she came to your attention Viktor. I know you’ll make sure everything possible is done for her. Will donate.

  9. Charlee Talor says:

Donated $15. Wish I could do more. I hope this sweet kitty will be okay.

  12. My heart just breaks seeing this little baby in such terrible condition…I cannot afford the bills for the surgery etc. or I would take her right now! I did make a donation however. How do we keep up with her progress??

  13. Charlotte Keulen says:

That poor, poor baby… She looks so sweet. Brings tears to my eyes to know how people are able to do such horrible things to such a sweet little creature. I donated an amount! Please save her!

    Greetings from the Netherlands

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Many thanks Isabel!

  16. There should be a date. I’m never sure when these cases surfaced & if there should be an update. She’s a beautiful kitten.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Suzanne… all our blogs are updated to the date. If you ever see a plea that doesn´t have an update it means it´s current and the animal is about to go through surgery…
In this case the case is totally up to date… Bambi is going to have surgery today..

  17. Jacqueline Robinson says:

Please help save this sweet baby and give her the life she deserves. I am donating to her fund today. Thanks for all you do to help these sweet babies!!

What a beautiful girl… I just donated if that helps 🙁 I would love to take her with me but I can’t sadly. I have reached the max ammount of pets. I have 20 pets. I would love her and nurture her. What a precious girl.. With all care and respect! #saveBambi

  21. Where is this kitty located is she still indeed of rescue or has she been rescue?
    Has medical been provided?
I noticed on her notes that she needs an enucleation (not an eye amputation like you put on the notes, there is no such a think as an amputation of the eye)
Out organization is National please let me know if she still needs help and city and St. where she is at also direct contact for her will be great too.
    Thank you .

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Hi.. many thanks for your offer of help. If you check the blog you will see that she has been operated. Please check out her latest pictures..
You are correct.. the correct term is enucleation, amputation was used so that people understand what does the procedure consist on…
Bambi is at our clinic in Valencia, Spain.. the direct contact for her is viktor@myletsadopt.com if I gave you the email of the vet it would be extremely difficult for you to communicate due to a language barrier.
Many thanks for your offer of help..

  22. Chipped in for sweet Bambi, with love & prayers. Thanks for all you do, LAG!

  23. Sent $200. Let get her well.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

  24. Finally able to donate a little, thank you for all you do.

  25. Finally able to donate a little. Thank you for all you do.

  26. Shelley Ball says:

My comment from yesterday says it’s still ‘awaiting moderation.’ Hope I haven’t said something out of turn? xx

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

No Shelley.. excuse me, I was out on a rescue mission.. approving now.

  27. I will donate when I return home next week. I am concerned the internet service I am using while away may not be secure. Until next Wednesday I will pray daily for this baby

  28. Christina Gonzales says:

How is Bambi doing? I donated a few days ago and was wondering if you reached the amount you needed for the surgery? Please put pictures up of her recovery. Thanks!

  29. Viktor how can someone do this to this precious little baby? So sad that people cannot take the responsibility to even get eye drops to help her. I sure hope they know who did this so they cannot get another animal and hurt that one also. They are like children you want them then take the responsibility to keep them well. So sad. I wish her well. I will share on FB as I still am not working. TY Viktor and your team for all you do.

  30. Thank you Viktor for rescuing her … she’s adorable !! I’m sure once she has recovered from her surgery she will be rehomed quickly to a loving home because she’d make such a wonderful pet for the person, or people, who will adopt her. I wish I could donate something to her care but at the moment I’m not able to – I will share this on Facebook though and hope you get more donations !

  31. Marilyn Caliendo says:

Where is she? Who is doing the operation? Please let me know!

  32. Hope Bambi will be better soon <3 Donated and shared.

  33. Ingrid Stranden says:

Just sent $100 for you Bambi. I see you are operated and getting well. Hope you will get a lovely good familiy that loves you. I’d take you myself if I could, but I have two rescued dogs from Spain and they are not so very fond of Cats.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks for your assistance Ingrid… Glad to have you with us.. xxxxx Viktor

  34. Debbie Sanguedolce says:

You truly have the Grace of God within you Viktor …… it’s so evident as I read your words and know these precious children of God feel your love. If only there were more people on this Earth like you, it would be a much better place. God Bless LAG!!!
