It’s very rare for a dog to fall off a balcony (or maybe not, I don’t know), but that’s exactly what happened to little Cosette here. After finding herself on the floor unable to move she was picked up and taken to a vet in Murcia on the Mediterranean shores of Spain to be euthanized.
Cosette was a bundle of joy and she would hate to be paralyzed, so it was better to euthanize her, her owners said…
The vet tried to talk to the family and explain that an operation COULD solve the problem, that it was risky and there were no guarantees but that she deserved that chance.
“Ok, keep her and do whatever you want with her|”… they said.
Our friend Alicia called us… we had worked together in several occasions, she knew she could trust us with Cosette’s life.
We met half way along the coast, Alicia handed over Cosette with tears in her eyes and we drove back to Valencia.
We wanted to operate her right away but her state was very delicate, she had a terrible anaemia and some other complications that made things very difficult.
But finally, the day has arrived…. Cosette is going to be operated TODAY…
By the end of the day we will know if we are able to decompress the spinal cord enough so that Cosette is able, with time, to walk again.
As ever, there are no guarantees, this kind of operations are very risky, but they must be done. Death is the quickest option but in no way what Cosette deserves…

I am terribly sorry for the rush but Cosette’s operation is going to be this afternoon…  we dont really have much time to waste, please, if you can, help her walk again..

P.S. As usual we will update on Cosette’s condition through our page: Let’s Adopt! Global.

After the operation is done, Cosette will need to find a new family. I know her well, she’s a wonderful little dog that deserves so much more.. Write to me:

UPDATE March 25

Cosette has been adopted!!! here she is saying goodbye to Vicente, the kind gentleman that has taken care of her during this very difficult time…
She’s in love with him… a difficult parting but she can now go on and have a full life.

Cosette has been treated and rehabilitated thanks to the amazing support of our incredible community to the Simba Fund. Please, should you wish to support our work so that we can continue saving animals like Cosette, please contribute to our working Fund today…

Many thanks!…
Viktor
