Today, early morning we have received an urgent call from a volunteer pulling animals out of a local rural pound telling us that there is a dog there, Bully, that is going to be killed in a couple of days because he has a broken leg and he is considered unadoptable.
We asked for pictures and there he is, Bully clearly had a broken leg but what we didn’t know was what bone and exactly what type of fracture. We asked the volunteer to rush him to our clinic and do a radiological analysis. Here is the image that the Xrays have produced. The tibia is totally shattered. It won’t set on its own, it can’t be set with a cast. To save his life Bully must be operated and his leg fixed with plates.
We have BEGGED for some extra time at the pound for Bully and they have given us until Wednesday morning to come up with a solution.
This is an emergency, as you know we don’t currently have any safety net so we can’t give the go ahead and operate unless we gather the necessary funds. Sadly, this is serious, if we don’t manage to get the funds together Bully will die on Wednesday.
We have been given a quote of 1.400 Euros plus incidentals and hospitalisation. Please, if you can, help us save this poor dog, he’s incredibly sweet, a mini-wolf that just wants to lick you on the face and play. Unless we get together and do this he will never be able to lick anyone anymore….

The procedure was extremely complicated due to the type of fracture. We decided to go for a MIPO (Minimally Invasive Plate Osteosintesis) but we have some complications. Here you have a couple of videos that will give you an idea of how the procedure was..

Bully was operated last week and after a first couple of days he started feeling much better and showing us his goofy character. Here is a picture that we feel describe him perfectly… he just wants to play!

Bully is doing GREAT!!!! What an amazing dog! He’s all love, the king of fun, just wants to play!.. We are doing our best to try to keep him still but oh my god… what a dog!!!

UPDATE 7 March…
It´s been nearly a year since we saved Bully´s life. During all this time he has been having the most incredible time with us.. he healed, his personality developed.. he has become the most incredible dog..
And today… today he is leaving Spain and flying to Germany. That will be his country from now on…
We can´t wait to update you on his journey!!!!
There is no other rescue like Let´s Adopt Global! Please help us save other dogs in Bully´s condition. This is a neverending struggle and we can´t do it without you…

I can’t send you a donation at the moment, but what the hell is wrong with these shelters do they not know what the word shelter means??? You don’t take an animal in only to kill them because they broke their leg, why don’t they get a grip for god sake???? What pound. what city in Spain?
Why can’t the vets just operate on him, and in the mean time we can try to collect the amount of money for his operation? Why do they always need the funds right away? We’re talking about a dog that’s in desperate need of medical attention. Money should be the last thing on the clinic’s mind right now. First priority should be, save the dog. In what country is he right now btw? In my opinion, you don’t put a healthy dog down, because there is no money on hand at this very moment. Our vet would never do such a thing, not even with a shelter dog.

Viktor, I have donated 50USD just now. At this point, I do not know if this can help Billy in time. I have learned however not to give up no matter how impossible it may seem. I have been to Turkey in 2012 and was heartbroken to see the condition and treatment of such beautiful creatures. I have searched online for information on other animal rescue organizations that I can assist financially and be involved with. I don’t have a lot of money but every penny I can spare, I give because I know no matter how little, it makes a difference. Your courage, compassion, love and dedication to these creatures in need is inspiring. It gives me hope to know there are people out there that care deeply. how much time is left for him and how much more is needed? I have a dog (120lbs+) who broke her rear leg in two places, worse than this break, she limps now but is doing great so this is fixable.

Thanks to all of you for saving Bully. Can you also tell your detractors/haters to go get a life and stop discussing the fact that someone who is probably very busy and very tired working on saving his life (you) probably inadvertantly uploaded the wrong photograph at first. They seem to be such bored , lonely people that they have nothing better to do than examine a photo. Thanks you to YOU for actually SAVING animals and not just sitting at a computer .
thats what i thought,with the pound shelter,none dog or any other animal should be put down.unless the animals is so ill it want recover and needs to put out of his misery,to avoid more suffering for it.

Brilliant story. Brilliant dog. I agree with Magaret Margarita about the haters (WTF?) and doubters. Ever heard the story of Doubting Thomas????? Just stay and watch – as I did, at Viktor’s encouragement – don’t donate – or criticise – unless you can do a better job instead of sitting there making negative comments at your computer.
