“Suerte” is Spanish for luck, and that’s the name that was given to her by the people that found her, about to die on a village hill.
She could barely move, extremely lethargic she had the look of a dog that even if only a few months old had seen the indescribable and, after untold suffering, had given up.

And then, with a mighty struck, mother Luck brought Suerte to us…
“Suerte” is an Ibizan Hound, one of the world’s most ancient breeds, direct descendant of the Egyptian Hunting dogs, that settled in this Mediterranean island in Phoenician times. She’s the perfect representation of her breed, intelligent, active and EXTREMELY FUNNY. Some call Ibizan Hounds the Clowns of the dog world… and that, she is.

Over the last two months, Suerte has received the best treatment modern medicine can afford. She has also been staying in a great foster home, where she has recovered not only her health and looks but her capacity to trust, and love. She’s a completely different dog than the one that came here when she was about to die…

UPDATE May 28

Last weekend I had the pleasure to fly to Germany to bring three very special dogs to their final homes. One of them was SUERTE…

We were greeted like heroes at Munich airport, from there she went home..

I have no words to describe the happiness it gives us all to see her get home and finally find peace with Kamille…

Just look at this…

Just received the most incredible set of pictures of Suerte and her new family…  This is what Let’s Adopt! is all about.. Be the judge..

Suerte was treated, rehabilitated and flew home thanks to the amazing support of our incredible community to the Simba Fund. Please, should you wish to support our work so that we can continue saving animals like Suerte, please contribute to our medical/working Fund today…

Many thanks!…
Viktor

  20. Suerte è stato molto fortunato che ha trovato voi e grazie lo avete salvato incredibile che bel cane, speriamo trovi presto una famiglia che gli darà tutto l’ affetto che merita.

  21. Linda Singleton Roth says:

You can see the pride she has now. She is beautiful!!! I wish I could adopt her, but I have no job, and Social Security does not provide much. I have a rescue who is part of my family and lives inside. I don’t believe dogs or cats should live outside. They are family and should live inside as family!!!!! You do a great job Viktor!!!!!! Keep up the great job!!!!!

  22. What a well-chosen name for this sweetie – Suerte had indeed loads of it finding you on her way out of misery and illness… Wish I could adopt a dog as well, but my two cats might not like the newcomer 🙁 ! Mucha suerte para tu futura vida, querida Suerte!

  23. Gloria Kersey says:
