Please help Charlie, he has torn his leg apart trying to break free
Sunday morning, first of September. I’m still in bed when receive an urgent call for help.
There is a dog chained to a truck wheel whose leg seems to have been peeled off with a knife!, tendon and muscle mass are exposed. The injuries seem recent but there really is no way of knowing but judging by the putrid smell he has been in this condition for quite some time.
Rushed out of bed and head to the location where the dog has been found, an empty area used as a garbage dump, where a despicable human being abandoned Charlie to die of hunger and thirst.
We have run a blood test, and his hematrocrit levels are not just very low, they are extremely low, which in all likelihood indicates a tick borne disease like Erlichia or worst, Leishmania, the same disease that nearly killed Axel.
We know times are tough and many are struggling right now, if you are not in a position to contribute please, at least help us save Charlie by SHARING this blog on Facebook, Twitter, you name it… anywhere you can… . Please help Charlie today, because at a time when the world seems to have lost all direction and measure, we must continue showing that every life is worthy and needs protection, specially those that find themselves in a situation as desperate as Charlie.
Please, if you can, HELP US SAVE CHARLIE TODAY…
Many many thanks… as usual we will provide personal updates to our donors through this blog as well as through our Facebook Page, Let’s Adopt! Global
Update September 9
Hello!! I’m CHARLIE!!!
Charlie’s surgery is done, and it’s been a success…now we must find a way to speed up the regeneration of the lost skin… we are working hard to make it happen!
Update September 13
Charlie’s evolution is very satisfactory, his leg is once again fully functional and even if he doesn’t like the slightest bit to have his cures done he’s being a real trooper.
Tomorrow we will show you a new video of this condition of his skin. We are working on the regeneration but we are considering doing a skin implant…
UPDATE 19 September
What it once seemed a distant dream it’s now a present reality. Charlie remains under treatment for his Erlichiosis and general weakness but he is pretty much a new dog. Now the challenge remains to try to accelerate the recovery of the skin. For this we are going to have to proceed to an extensive skin graft that will at the same time alleviate lines of tension along the skin of his leg.
November 15: THE FLIGHT HOME!!!

Charlie has been adopted in the USA, in Oregon, and he is about to fly home. To all of you that helped in one way or another saving his life… THANK YOU!!!
The best is yet to come for Charlie…
Charlie is about to start a new life thanks to your contributions to our rescue Fund. Please, if you can, help us continue saving more dogs like Charlie. Your help is what really makes things happen…
