Miyu and Piyu started life in the same way, but in their short existence their path has taken a completely different road.

Miyu:

The first kitty, Miyu, was rescued by me. She was stuck under heavy machinery, we got her out and took her home, to be fostered together with our 18 cats.

That was the right thing to do.

In our home Miyu is having a great time, eating raw meat and chicken and playing with the others whilst waiting for me to find her a home.

Piyu:

Piyu was also rescued by an “animal lover”, but instead of taking him home that person took him to one of the most infamous municipal shelters in Turkey, the torture chambers of HASDAL.

That was the wrong thing to do. That “animal lover” should have left the cat on the streets.

At the shelter Piyu was left in a closed box where he remained, bathing in his own urine and excrement for weeks. The result? massive general infection and the loss of both his eyes. Today Piyu is fighting for his life. If he survives he will be blind for life.

Miyu has been here with us for over a week now. I know her well and have developed a bond. I want the best possible home for her. Piyu is fighting for his life right now, and she is going to need an exceptional home too. I want both kitties to go to be rehomed together in the best home in the world. A home where their very different paths will join and become one.

Later I got addicted to it and still can’t find the way to get off it. Read more information about the drug on https://www.doondoc.com/doc/ambien-online/.

  1. Where is Piyu now? How can one contribute to help her medical expenses?

  2. quelle horreur et quelle tristesse, ce pauvre chaton !! puisse-t-il s’en sortir, j’ai eu un chat handicapé, un vrai bonheur même si j’avais mal pour lui……

  3. You are CRUEL!!!

    I AM DISGUSTED!!!

This cat should have been humanely put to sleep.

What kind of animal abuser are you “That was the wrong thing to do. That “animal lover” should have left the cat on the streets.”

No animal should be left on the street to suffer.

    OMG

      Nathan…

      1. When Piyu was picked up he was a healthy feral kitten, with mother and siblings. She was very capable of living where she was. She was then taken to a shelter where she ended up infected and sick.
      2. To put to sleep a healthy cat? why? to put to sleep a cat just because he has an eye infection? why? You obviously are not a vet, have no idea about animal welfare and are just the kind of misguided animal lover who goes around recommending killing animals just because of your own incapability to deal with a medical bill.
I suggest you have a look at this list… if this group followed your advice practically none of our animals would now be alive!

People like you have much to learn… don’t worry, we are here to teach.

    2. Viktor Larkhill says:

Basically, I’m the kind of animal lover that takes a cat to the vet and pays for its treatment.

That’s the kind of cruel disgusting person we are here Nathan… So bad…

  4. So you wanted to leave it out there and keep breeding more and more kittens to live a life of suffering on the street. Are you serious?

So you support leaving cats out there just to breed and keep breeding and living a life of hell.

    Your deluded.

The only mistake the person who picked this kitten up made was not to get all the kittens and the mother. I think the shelter should be exposed for allowing the kitten to end up in that condition however i will never ever support leaving cats out there to suffer on the streets.

Actually i know much more than you about animal welfare and i pick up cats all the time i guess though i dont live in Turkey where animal neglect is everywhere.

Its not my fault the cats are out there you putz its people who dont desex the cats or leave them out there to keep breeding like yourself.

Cats must be desexed other wise they just keep breeding, then there are to many cats and not enough homes. Pull your head out of your ass!

Nathan… sorry, this blog is written for people with an IQ or at least 90.
You seem to be below 50. No wonder you don’t understand the post.
      Anyway..

  5. Oh and i bet you eat meat as well you hipocrite.

  6. Does Viktor seem like the type of person that wants to keep all the stray animals on the streets? Come on Nathan. Be productive not destructive. He’s adopted 18 cats for goodness sake.

You make some valid points about desexing the animals so they can’t keep breeding… but Viktor’s point is if you can’t take the animal home with you don’t just dump it at a shelter and wash your hands of it. If you really feel the animal can’t be left on the street then investigate the shelter or vet you want to take it to. Make sure it’s going to a better place. Then go back and check up on the animal’s welfare even if you think the shelter is ok. Be a part of the solution rather than patting yourself on the back and doing the easy thing of just dumping a stray at a shelter. Make sure the animal is getting a better life rather than you absolving your conscience by picking up a stray animal off the street without investing a cent into it’s welfare and expecting someone else to foot the bill. A real animal lover donates, investigates, sponsors or adopts. (And supports other people who are trying to do the same).

You say you ‘pick up cats all the time’. How many do you have living with you now? How many have you followed up on after you took them to shelters and ensured they weren’t just being put down because no one wanted to take them?

  7. Lotti i have 2 cats that were adopted from Shelter.

I live in Australia and our shelters dont have inhumane conditions. When i take the animals in they are assessed. If they are fit and healthy and able to be adopted they get DESEXED, microchipped and vaccinated PRIOR to adoption. I follow up on most of the animals i take in to Shelters some get loving homes some get put down i can live with that. I would prefer the animal gets a chance at a loving home than to live out on the streets suffering and being at the mercy of cruel humans.

Viktor has adopted 18 cats well thats good but i have picked up over 600 cats in under 12 months so i think its safe to say i care more about them strays than him.

Viktor you are ignorant and you just want the cats to keep breeding more and more and many will end up being put down as there are not enough homes. Pull your head out of your ass.

DO YOU EAT MEAT VIKTOR? I BET YOU DO!!!! IF SO YOU ARE A HIPOCRITE

I DONT I CARE ABOUT ALL ANIMALS!!!

  8. Oh and we have animal laws in Australia unlike backwards Turkey!!!

  9. Hi Nathan,

I’m an Australian living in Dubai. So I’m well aware of Australia’s shelter conditions having adopted strays there. I currently have an adopted stray here in Dubai who will be coming home with me to oz when we’re ready to leave.

Not all shelters in Australia are equal. Sadly that’s a fact. And not all vets have the time to try and rehome animals. Even in Australia some take the easy road of putting them to sleep rather than investing proper time into finding them a home. Please don’t put false halos over every vet or animal shelter in Australia. It’s a case by case basis. But I do agree they are much better than Turkey. Maybe that’s where you could be a little more understanding to Viktor’s reasoning of leaving them on the streets in Turkey. If you’re not prepared to follow the animals welfare through properly it may just have a better chance of survival than in some of the horrible shelters that are allowed to stay open there.

I just don’t think hurling insults in productive. I think we can all agree that we love animals. I think every discussion is worth a debate. It’s a touchy subject for some. There’s a world of people out there that really don’t care about animals. I get tired of being scoffed at for caring about them. Like I’m wasting my time. It’s all the more reason for those of us that do care to work together and support each other.
