Most of the world’s greatest movements begin with a single person taking a single decision. A normal person that looks around her, doesn’t like what she sees and says NO.
That act of defiance is, in itself, more powerful and of far more reaching consequences than the combined discussions of a thousand bureaucrats, and yes, you have those types in governments, companies and NGO’s.
A few days ago, Lacey Tippett, a young girl from Bonavista, Newfoundland (Canada) decided to do something about the horrible treatment of circus animals. Her city has invited The Cirque Estival, a circus with a track record of animal abuse to perform in the City’s summer festivities. So, she headed to Facebook and started a group to protest and demand the public to boycott the circus performances.
The response in the small town of Bonavista has been overwhelming, the city’s youth flocked to the group and expressed their reject. As a response she received a not-so-veiled threat from the management of the Stadium buy ambien in france where the circus is due to perform.
Today, Let’s Adopt! is going to lend Lacey a hand.
Mrs. Betty Fitzgerald, the Mayor of Bonavisa is a modern woman, she is on Facebook, she understand the power of social media. She will be very happy to hear from you.
Please send a Facebook message to Mrs. Fitzgerald and ask her, in a nice and polite way, to do the right thing and cancel the performance of the Circus in Bonavista due to overwhelming public demand.
The cause is right, the approach is right, I therefore trust you will do all you can to help Lacey Tippet in her quest for Change. The city of Bonavista deserves much more than this and its name shouldn’t be associated with this cruelty.
Write to Betty Fitzgerald HERE.

P.S. I leave you with a video that displays the treatment circus animals receive on a daily basis. This should be enough to motivate us all to do something about it.
Thank you Viktor! The message has been shared with my friends. An email has been sent to Mayor Fitzgerald. A thank you to Lacey for choosing to act for the animals, to be the voice for the voiceless.
I find my energy and perseverance increases when one more person decides to take a stand, and like you said “doesn’t see like what she sees and says NO.” We are faced with so much sadness, horror, and disbelief in what is being done to animals across the world – something like this restores my faith in people and helps push me to continue the fight.

Message sent! I stopped taking my kids to the circus many years ago when I realized the obvious…wild animals could only be trained by fear!! I taught my kids the reasons why going anywhere that an animal was used for entertainment was just pain wrong! Many people never stop to think about the lives stolen and captured for their entertainment, so this young girl should be very proud of herself for her fight against animal cruelty! Thanks for the info!
Ban the circus for public entertainment because it exploits animals who should be in their natural habitat. Newfoundland should find a way to provide entertainment for its citizens without this kind of show. I support all those folks who will be present at this demonstration.
Lamentable de traiter les animaux ainsi!! Mais boredel, on es au troisième millénaire et l’homme se conduit comme une merde!!
Arrêtez d’aller au cirque et arrêtez d’autoriser les cirques à s’installer dans les villes!!!!
I am against animals being abused and caged in terrible conditions. The circus should be stopped from coming to NL, in fact, it should be banded world wide.
i cant believe ppl would do this~!!!! why dnt we beat them like they did them!! I have never been to a cercus but best believe im never gonna go! this is sooooo sad! cant believe employees of the place wouldnt speak out!! this is soooo sad i couldnt even watch the whole thing~!! imma write a letter to the mayor just hope she listents to the ppl voice & not the polictic part
look at these sad eyes:(
