Pooh has left the Clinic!!!
After what seems like an eternity to us (and probably even longer to him, Pooh is leaving the clinic and coming home with me to complete his recovery!.
He was very happy to leave the hospital but he has made lots of friends there, doctors loved him. He’ll be back next week for a checkup to see how he is evolving and whether there any problems that need attention.
Pooh’s weight when leaving the clinic, 27 kilos, he should be at least 35 by now… he’s got some serious eating and catching up to do!!!
As I write this he’s resting under Monkey’s cat tree. He’s skin and bones, heartbreaking to see but mark my words, he will look completely different very very soon!
His name is Pooh, like Winnie the Pooh…
Pooh is just 8 months old.. just a baby, he’s scared and he doesn’t know why he’s in that cage or how long he’s going to be there for.
He also doesn’t know that his family has just paid for his euthanasia and cremation.. Blood’s money.
He’s alive but to all effects he’s already dead. In their minds, Pooh is already a pile of ashes, his death has been assumed, the family left the clinic, they had to go buy books for the kids return to school. I didn’t see any tears. It was a cold and unsentimental decision. I was there. I saw it.
Why is Pooh going to die? Because he has Parvovirus, and because he has been on treatment for two days and as there is no visible improvement.
So, in their minds, they convinced themselves that after two days of sickness it’s going to be too expensive so better cut their losses now. It doesn’t matter to them if Pooh is young and strong, it doesn’t matter if he loves them and would never leave them. What matters is that he may have to spend a week or 10 days in intensive care, and that he may or may not survive, and who wants to pay for a dead dog? So they kill him.
He doesn’t know any of that… and I better not tell him because it’s not going to happen anyway. Pooh will not die, at least not today.
I have just asked the vet to call the family and cancel the credit card charges. I have asked them to give me the dog, and allow me to do my best to save him. Of course they’ve sad yes. I’ve been called an Angel. Yeah right..
We are taking over. We are not going to let Pooh die here like this. We are going to give this young baby every possible chance to survive like Monkey and the vast majority of our rescues have survived before. Poo will battle Parvovirus like a warrior, because he wants to live, and because when facing life or death, every dog chooses life, regardless of the pain, regardless of costs that they are not equipped to understand or care about.
Help me give Pooh 10 days of the best treatment modern medecine has to offer and I bet you he will survive. I KNOW he will survive, I can see it in his eyes. You can’t beat Pooh into submission just like that right Pooh?
Please let’s get together and Chipin to save Pooh today… I will update you on his progress as the treatment progresses.
Please Help us save baby live today…
