What you are about to witness is a true story.
Meet Wendy.
Wendy lived in a garage with her owner’s other dog. One day the other dog attacked and hurt Wendy, and her owner — rather than get medical attention — simply threw her out. Wendy survived, and being a loyal friend, she did not run away, staying in the neighborhood. Her owner brought her back to live in a different garage. Wendy spent her days in filthy damp darkness, slept on the bare floor, and received food every couple of days. The garage was unlocked but Wendy still did not run away, because this was all she knew.
This was home.
Soon Wendy fell sick and again received no medical attention. Her condition worsened, her skin dried up and started cracking, flaking and bleeding. The floor under her became smeared with her blood and dying infected skin.
Then Wendy also fell pregnant.
She spent her entire pregnancy in these conditions. She gave birth in the same garage. She faithfully continued trying to take care of her babies, while sick, bleeding, desperate. She kept trying to be a good mom even when her puppies started dying one by one, from hunger and diseases.
When our Indonesian volunteers learnt about Wendy they immediately organized her rescue. During the rescue Wendy kept looking and barking affectionately at her owner who was also present — loyal to the end, unable to realize the full extent of the criminal betrayal she had suffered.
Wendy is with us now. She was immediately placed in a veterinary clinic and a battery of tests were performed to establish a correct diagnosis, and ensure every condition she is suffering from is found. Tomorrow we will share an update on her medical state, stay with our Facebook page to catch it.
Wendy’s two surviving pups haven’t even opened their eyes yet. They were immediately started on puppy formula milk as Wendy should no longer feed them once she begins receiving treatment.
Wendy’s story is one of loyalty repaid with betrayal. One of desperation followed by hope. Will Wendy live to find a loving owner and a good home? Can we save her and her puppies? The decision is in your hands, today and in the next few days.
Hi, I’ll donate shortly. But can you put me on the list to adopt Wendy or her pups. We’re located in the U.S. Will pay for their travel.
Hi, we have just sent you a reply via email!
Dear Lord, Thank you for the wonderful people caring for this beautiful animal. I pray her babies grow strong, and find loving homes. I know you are watching over Wendy. You’ve given her the strength to overcome her adversities. In Jesus’ name, amen.
I am saddened that there are people in the world that do not value animal’s lives. Donating what I can.
Poor sweetie. Thanks for your help
So what is happening with the scumbag owner? Do they charge people in that area for neglect and cruelty? I hope so….if not then tgat is so sad.
I donated today. I am so so very disappointed that anyone could leave that poor girl and her babies in such a horrible place. Didn’t anyone see what the owner was doing? She lost little babies that had no chance at a life and also is fighting for her own. Please save their precious lives. I hope this person gets what he/she deserves in life. To also be treated like this poor family was treated. I will be watching. How will we know what is donated for helping this little family?
Hi, thank you for your support! This story comes from Indonesia where there are no animal protection laws or authorities that would normally help out in a situation like this. Our volunteer team there are true heroes for managing to do what they do in those circumstances. With regards to funds needed, we usually continue the fundraising plea while we continue to need funds. Wendy is in a veterinary clinic, will require a lengthy treatment and the vet team is fighting daily for the lives of her pups, because since she started her treatment she can no longer nurse. Stay with our page for updates and thank you for caring! http://www.facebook.com/letsadoptglobal
that owner needs death do your best for her and the puppies
Sorry that I couldn’t give more – that’s what it means to be on a fixed income. Nevertheless, here’s hoping that every little bit will help – truly I’ll love it when the news breaks that Wendy and her young are back to full health and are adopted to loving and worthy homes. God Bless you for your work!!!
Donated. All my love to sweet Wendy and her pups!
