THE SENTENCE
We found Stray on Friday. Upon first glance we noticed he was strikingly beautiful. Then a double take revealed that the fur around his neck and flanks was gone, and bleeding wounds had spread along his naked skin. The poor boy was skinny and could barely walk.
We asked around but apparently Stray was nobody’s. He was just that, a stray — unwanted, unneeded, sentenced to wander the streets, getting weaker, his sickness worsening until one day he would have just died, alone.
THE DIAGNOSIS
The decision to help did not take much consideration and within hours we were at the vet clinic where the diagnosis was massive skin infection, pyoderma, leucocytosis, and severe emaciation. The vet team prescribed drastic measures and Stray’s remaining fur was shaved clean while he was placed on a three-week long antibiotics treatment.
NEW HOPE
Stray will remain at the clinic until he is stable enough to be discharged into a safe foster environment while we look for his forever family. He is a special boy, very sweet, trusting and loving, constantly looking for pets and cuddles. As we held him in our arms one last time before we left, we promised him that everything will be ok now. Stray was so weak that he had forgotten and could not tell us his real name — if you have an idea what it might be, leave us a comment here.
