Pippin tried to become invisible, curling up in a tight ball at the bottom of the ditch. But the rocks kept flying down, smashing into his fragile body — they hit his head, back, legs. The people standing above him jeered and laughed, encouraging one another to continue the torture.
This is the sight that unfolded in front of Pippin’s rescuers when they first saw him. Lying at the bottom of a ditch was a small sick dog, terrified and alone, merciless people standing around throwing stones at him.
Probably somebody’s pet, Pippin’s world abruptly changed when his skin started turning red and wrinkled, his fur began to fall out and he became unsightly. Shortly after that Pippin was dumped in a ditch by the roadside — best thing to do when your pet gets sick. Much easier than taking him to see a vet. Right?
Wrong. But a sad reality for so many abandoned pets.
Rescued by our Indonesian volunteers, Pippin is now in a clinic in Jakarta. Thankfully no bones were broken during his ordeal in the ditch. First series of tests and examinations have determined that he does not have Demodex (mange). His current diagnosis is deep Pyoderma. Pippin is receiving daily medicated buy cialis baths with a special topical solution, and a skin scraping has been taken to obtain further details of the infection’s exact origins. We are also expecting the results from a full blood and biochemistry panel.
Pippin’s treatment will take time. His entire body is covered in lesions and pus-filled pustules, and he has lost almost all his hair. With the proper care his prognosis is good, but the rate of improvement of skin conditions relies on a strong body able to fight back, while Pippin is currently thin and weak.
poor little soul…….thank goodness he is now in safe hands thank you x
I will be sending something towards Pippins treatment and hope he gets a loving home one day soon…………
Sent what I can for now, good luck.
This broke my heart. Please keep us updated. Donated
NO comments of support for this poor baby? Come on, people! Show Pippin that not all humans are not cruel monsters!
Can you keep us posted whats with Pipin in near future?
This just makes me so sick. I feel so terrible for Pippin. I have donated, I hope I can donate more, and I pray and hope for his quick recovery. How do you place him in a home after he recovers?? Assuming he will. There’s a look in his face that reminds me of my dog and I have been looking into getting a companion for me and my dog, Brownie and I would be very interested in rescuing Pippin if that were an option. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Thank you for all that you do for these sweet babies.
Hi, thank you for inquiring after Pippin, we have sent you an email explaining our adoption process.
Breaks my heart all over again that people would throw rocks at an already scared and abandoned little guy who’s already sick and in pain! Had I been there I would’ve yelled at everyone to leave him alone and stood in the way of the rocks so they would hit me instead of this poor baby! That’s how much I love animals, especially dogs. People have no conscience or soul and it’s not only sad but scary that they treat innocent creatures like this! I’m praying for a speedy recovery for this little angel and thank you for sharing all these stories!
Thank you for rescuing Pippen. Poor baby. How people can be so cruel just astounds me. Just when you think you’ve seen it all. Sending healing prayers for Pippen. Sharing with many prayers. 🙏🐾🌻❤️
How is pipin now? Is he still alive?
Hi, Pippin is very much alive and doing better and better each day. Here is a recent update on him: http://bit.ly/2932JRJ 🙂
This guy looks strong, despite his weakened body. I hope he pulls through. What an awesome little guy. He deserves a great home.
This is heart breaking, absolutely I wish I was there when people were throwing rocks at Pippin, I would have not only yelled at them to stop, but stood in the way so the rocks hit me instead of him! How can people be so cruel? These stories make me cry. How much does it cost to adopt Pippin and do I pay for the flight for him to come to me I live in California? Also, will he have long term expensive care if I were to adopt him could I get insurance or help to pay for long term medical treatment?
Hi,
I have five yorkies. All are very cute. I don’t want to see them without hair. Fortunately i got your article to learn about this.
Thanks
