Lets Adopt! has some to the toughest adoption rules amongst all adoption groups out there. Particularly in Turkey, but surprisingly also in the US and Canada.
They are simple rules, but they are the toughest. Period.
Contrary to other groups, we are not obsessed on personal details; our screening procedures are character-driven.
Those procedures are designed to clearly separate the good from the bad, and it works. We constantly receive emails from people who don’t understand the reasons for those rules. They believe we are here to simply give animals away. Those people don’t know the way we operate. We are an educational group who aims to provide perfect lives to our rescues.
This is the reason for everything we do.
Very rarely, though, we make mistakes. Those mistakes happen because we make exceptions to our rules.
Moved by an “animal lover’s” explanation we may be tempted to believe that the person may, after all, be a good owner. Whenever we make exceptions we fail.
Today we are launching the Let’s Adopt! Adoption Blacklist.
This list is here purely for information purposes and it reflects nobody’s opinions other than Viktor’s.
The aim of this list is to help the decision making of those people in Facebook who may be looking for an owner for their rescues.
We will not enter into public discussions on the reasons why the people in the list are blacklisted. One thing you can be sure of though.. IF YOU SEE SOMEONES NAME YOU SHOULD NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, GIVE THAT PERSON AN ANIMAL, DOG, CAT, PARROT, RAT, FISH…NOTHING THAT BREATHES!
How to use that list:
General Public: Please check this group before taking the decision of giving an animal in adoption.
Admins of Facebook and Adoption Groups: Please feel free to drop us an email providing with a name to be included in the Blacklist as well as your reasons for it. We will then do our own checks and decide whether to add the person to the list or not.
We hope this list will act as a deterrent as well as stop animal abusers and other unsavoury people roaming around Facebook from being able to get their hands on poor, innocent animals.

That is a very good suggestion. İ have a few vets in Bodrum that need to be blacklisted as they are not even decent butchers!!!

As somebody who tried to support Sylvia from Beylerbeyi when she was trying to give a blind baby kitten a chance to see again and saw how she cared for that little baby, I really do not understand why her name is on such a list.
As we are surrounded by idiots with evil minds, we all get angry and frustrated when we see what damage they can cause and the lives they can ruin. I can also understand that those trying hard to help out must feel this even more. However, creating such a haphazard list and publishing it online is opening the door to a very dangerous game. I hope we all understand that the word responsibility has a very broad meaning.

Sokakta bulduğum yavru kediye her ay belli bir ücret karşılığı bakacağını söyledi, aylık 100 tl olarak anlaşmıştık fakat yüzyüze görüşmeye gittiğimde 200 tl’ye bakabileceğini, onun bir yer kapladığını ve mama yediğini, fiyatın bu kadar olmasının normal olduğunu söyledi. Ben vazgeçtiğimi söyleyince de taciz boyutuna vardırdı işi. Bu kişi kesinlikle karalistede olmalı.
Alp vet clinic (Çapa-fatih) must be definitely on the blacklist also. I found a pussy in the street and brought her to the clinic, i asked if i pay them 100 tl (50 usd) they can look after her for a month. At first he said ok, and after he wanted 200 tl and he said ”the cat occupies place and eats some food. so the cost of it is 200 tl. he was so persistant when i changed my mind and he was extremely bothersome.”
Basak, 100 lira per month is not only reasonable.. is EXTREMELY CHEAP… It works out at 3.3 lira a day.. I normally pay 10 lira per day in the pensions we work with….

My criteria are very simple. I would not give a dog to someone who runs a shelter where animals are dying for lack of proper veterinary care. I rescue animals from Uskudar shelter, I would NEVER give an animal to be cared by Asude.
So she goes on the Blacklist.

Sera Group in Acıbadem/Kadıköy should be on that black list with a huge black star near it!!!! We adopted a baby cooker from them which was ill, like most of the animals there, and they are lack of med., vet and care. They just see their place as a trading agency and just care about the money. They sell us a cooker -which was named Caramel- and our first dog ever!!! I fell in love with the little one as I saw her. They told us that the vet. was ill so not be able to check her, but told us that she had all the vac.she needed so we just needed to take her to vet if there is smtg wrong with her! I loved that baby!! But one day she started to cough, and move little different than usual. I wanted to get her checked and went to a vet. After a couple of test, they told me that she had a disase and she will die in a couple of days. I was devastated. I called the SERA GROUP and told them that they had sold me an animal who had a disase and asked them to help her. They just said “Bring that one and we will give you a brand new”
I couldn’t believed my ears!! We fought. Even, I went their places and bring the place down (literally)!! Then in 2 days my dog suffered and died in my arms!!!!!!!
Please people, watch out like these people!!! They see the animals like a trading item, when they got the money there is no problem anymore. We have to stop these kind of people.
Animals are living too, like human beings!! They have feelings, a soul and they need care from humans!!
Stop ANIMAL TRADING!!! Let’s adopt.
I have 2 dogs in my house right know, my beloved Piper and Blade. I took care of them like I took care of my children. I don’t have a children yet, but I feel like they are a part of me and, when I see those animals who need help, I cry all the time.

Thanks Viktor for helping another sweet dog…I’ve been following you since Tidus, am amazed at your perserverance and loyalty to helping our four legged friends in dire need. At this time I’m not able to help, I’ll remember next month when I get my pension, to send something to help with your endevours. I wish I could be there to assist with each animals recovery. I have a rescue cat now 14 years old…his sister, Sugar Princess developed liver disease and I had to put her down two years ago in February. I pray Juliette will recover and be loved by a good person/family who will love and protect her always. Thank you again for your devoted service to animals.

I see your black list… and wish that you also had a list of vets you can recomend etc.. . I asked for your help some months ago. I was in a desperate need of a good vet for my sick cat. but you didnt even answer my mail.
We live in a city (istanbul) where we always cannot trust the vets knowlegde. Maybe they mean well but the outcome is not always good. Therefore I asked you since you have so much experience.
I belive that we have to share experiences in the name of the animals..

I left a comment yesterday asking why Rachel Gawith is on your list? It’s genuine curiosity as I adopted a dog from her Twitchy Noses rescue last year and wondered what the problem is? My comment has disappeared. Also I have emailed and messaged you a few times re how can I donate to Let’s Adopt when I can’t use Paypal, looking for help with some homeless pups and their mum in Crete who are in grave danger of being found and poisoned and finally to ask if anyone still runs Let’s Adopt Greece as there’s no reply from them.
