Injured animals often suffer in silence..

Pamela lived at a train station. Alone in the world, she spent her nights looking for scraps to appease her hungry tummy, and her days fitfully napping curled up in a hidey-hole, simply trying to stay alive.

One day, just as Pamela was stepping over a junction in the tracks, loud clicking rang in her ears. She froze, listening. Little did she know that she was standing over a rail switch. The automatic mechanism had just received instructions to move the rail points to another position.

As Pamela stood unsuspecting, the remote-controlled actuator changed the points, heavy steel beams shifted with a clang.. and tore off her right paw, indifferent and unaware of the terrified animal caught in their jaws.

We will never truly know the terror Pamela felt when her leg was mauled in the steel trap. Unfortunately, this type of injury is seen all too often with strays who live near tracks. The little cat’s suffering was spotted by a kind-hearted person who did not give up until she was captured.

Pamela urgently needed help, and thankfully she was lucky enough to allow herself to be caught.

The little cat is currently on medication for the infection, and an operation is pending as soon as she is stabilized. This type of wound buy xanax uk paypal does not close easily and will continue to hurt, bleed, the skin not sealing over the bone, eventually becoming even more infected. The stump will also impede her walking, and must be removed for her to properly distribute weight among the three healthy legs.

Life should not be so full of danger, and little cats should live in a cozy home engulfed by love. But Pamela was an injured, invisible stray.

UPDATE / 27 August, 2015

Pamela has been operated! Thank you for making it possible!

She is stable and our volunteers in Indonesia sent us these photos from the operating room and from little Pam coming round after the anesthetic started wearing off.

Pamela was immediately taken to a veterinary clinic. She is being stabilized for an operation, and is receiving treatment for infection. Thank you for caring, Kathy.

  2. Poor little Pamela! You are in the best of hands now. G*d bless the kind human who found you and stayed with you till you were caught and taken to the vet. You will recover completely, and a very lucky family will adopt you and love you forever! You’ll never have to scavenge for scraps ever again, and you’ll sleep on a soft bed.

  5. Pamela is only one of countless abandoned and frightened cats who are at the mercy of their circumstances. I hope her surgery will be successful, and that she will find a loving permanent home!

      Hello, Carola,

We have never returned an animal back on the street. Pamela is in Jakarta and will most definitely be adopted after she is healthy again. Even we don’t know the total cost of her treatment – she is currently being stabilized, treated for infection, we don’t know how much of the leg the surgeons will remove (probably all of it up to the shoulder), how long the operation will take, and how long her stay in a hospital will be.

      Thank you,

Thank you so much for taking care of this poor defenseless baby. She has no voice to express her agony, grief and loneliness. And she has no voice to express her gratitude to you for giving her, probably the only care and attention she has ever received in her life. I hope she gets a forever home where she will experience unconditional love for the rest of her life. G-d bless you for doing this.
