I was planning to write a long post today wrapping up 2014, an incredible year for the animals Let´s Adopt Global saved. Also, a year where we have lost some good friends, both human an animals. I was planning to make a rescue video with highlights of the year. I wasn´t short of material, we´ve rescued hundreds!

But as I sat to start writing I received an urgent telephone call… We got him!! We got him!!! We got SUNDANCE!!!!

And so… scrap the Year End post… we are going to end the year exactly the same way we started it… RESCUING!!!

IMG_6517
We learned about Sundance about three months ago. He had been seen stumbling along several stretches of highway, emaciated, exhausted, badly injured, but at most people would take a video or a picture. Noone really bothered to help him. Several times we went to the locations where he was spotted, but it was always too late. Sundance was always on the move.

We put several teams of volunteers in charge of finding him and rushing him to our clinic but he was never found. We knew he was there, but noone could catch him. The videos kept coming.

Until today… Three months after we heard about him, we managed to get him!!!…. PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO!!

Sundance is now staying at our clinic. We have run full tests on him and the results are heartbreaking… He is completely anaemic and he is positive to Leishmania, Erlichia and Anaplasma… That combination has ravaged the skin all over his body. Tomorrow we are going to do an more in-depth cure, but so far it looks just terrible.

And so, we end the year as we started and as we have lived every single day, giving a second chance to an animal that fought so hard to stay alive and at the end, lost of all hope.

Update 2nd January

Sundance spent two days being stabilised.. during this time we also made him more comfortable greatly reducing his paint and discomfort…

Only when he was ready we tackled the painful cures he needed…  Here is the video we took… watch it, you´ll understand what he had to go through during all those months on the streets…

P.S. After his treatment is over, Sundance is going to need an extraordinary home where he can enjoy a wonderful life. If you are that home PLEASE write a letter to me on viktor@myletsadopt.com telling me everything about you and your family of animals.

P.S. Please follow Sundance´s updates at Let´s Adopt Global

I wish I could help but I am still unemployed and having car problems. I will share on my Facebook in hopes my friends will help you. As soon as I am working again I will help like I did before. Just cannot at this time. TY for being there for him.

  7. Laura Perkinson says:

I can not believe the patience of this dog while the people work on him, He must be in pain yet he is kindly excepting all they do.
I hope to be able to donate for him next week.
Thank you for all the good work you do to save these animals

  8. Sundance touched my heart. I gave a little money for his care. Please keep us posted on his treatment and recovery. I’ll keep my eye out for him and sending a prayer.

  13. Just looks terrible. I don’t know how long he could have gone on for in this state. Again, as always, thank you for being there.
Will donate when I can. Always happy to give but I need to get rabies shots for my guys this week. But after that is done
I will see what I have left. Always willing to donate what I can when I can.

    Thank you Viktor.

  14. SUE GRIFFITHS. UK. says:

My last donation of the year goes to help Sundance. I could have cried when I saw the state of him, with his raw and bleeding paws. I know LAG will take good care of him. I can’t believe that no one tried to help him before LAG. What is the matter with people? They must be missing the compassionate gene. Bless you Sundance, you are now in the best hands. Thank you team LAG, I hope 2015 will be a good year for you all.

  15. Thank you so much for saving this extraordinary boy. His condition is heartbreaking but I know if anyone can end his misery and bring him back to a health it’s you guys. I will donate after the first of the year as that is when I will have some money. It won’t be much but I feel the need to help this boy. I just want to wrap my arms around him and hold him for the longest time so that he knows his life matters. Please take care of him.

  16. God bless you all! I will never understand cruelty to animals. I’m so happy Sundance has a fighting chance with a fighting determined team. Again, thank you all and God Bless you all.

  17. Viktor…more than any other animal you’ve rescued, Sundance needs to be saved most of all…it’s a testament to his temperament that he in fact has lasted so long…and to the Grace of God…plz do whatever you need to do to accomplish this…GOD BLESS YOU…

  18. Thank you thank you thank you for finally getting him to safety! Breathe easy now Sundance, you’re in great hands.
Donating to his recovery. I wish I could do more.

  19. Elizabeth Rutledge says:

I WISH I COULD HOLD EACH OF YOU THAT STUCK TO IT AND RESCUED SUNDANCE! I pray GOD will have a very special place in heaven for you later and will comfort and fulfill your days right now! POOR, POOR SUNDANCE. I am weeping with him and I am sending you what I can to help right now. I wish I had all the money my sister has so I could help more significantly. I know you will do your upmost best for Sundance and that is what makes you so, so, so wonderful!

You could have sent a video of the years accomplishments and I would have made me feel good for thirty seconds, but there is also another cat or dog that is desperate for help. I prefer to focus on that and not one what has been done. Thank you for sharing Sundances story and for loving and caring these sweet innocent pets in ways no one else would. It absolutely horrifies me that no one would stop to help him.

I have one question if you would be ever so nice to answer it. Did you numb Sundance while you were taking blood and cleaning his wound, especially that ear?

God is using you every single day to do what others should be doing but are too selfish to do.

May 2015 be a lot better than 2014 was, Elizabeth Rutledge

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Many thanks Elizabeth…
Answering to your question… Sundance wasn´t sedated or numbed in any way while performing the initial cures. But today we have sedated him fully to perform in-depth cures. You will see those in a video I will update this evening…
Many thanks for being there for us during this year Elizabeth!
Happy New Year to you and yours.
      Viktor

  20. Alison Jackson says:

Thank you for helping this sweet boy. Donated, not much but I will donate more.

  21. Sundance looks so sweet and precious! He knows you all are trying to help him! He can tell you love him and want him to get well. You go, Sundance! You are in good hands now! If only you knew what is ahead of you, you would not have been so hard to catch! You would’ve run to LAG for help! <3 But that's ok, you're going to be all right now. If LAG can't help you, no one can, but the best is yet to be for you!

  22. Debbie Cooley says:

omg. he is so sweet and the ppl taking care of him so gentle…I am praying for this baby…I will donate as soon as I get pd….give him a kiss for me pls….tell him auntie debra loves him….

  23. Anonymous says:

  26. This Sundance has massive courage and it looks like you managed to get to him just in time . I cannot bear to think and imagine his suffering – I just hope and pray that with your compassionate and expert help he will pull through . The diseases sound excruciating too but they’ll hopefully respond and quickly become less sore . I will donate as much as I can the beginning of next week I hope , as long as my pension arrives on time .
I think he is a deerhound x lurcher , perhaps with airedale . Love and all my good wishes to him and all of your team . Happy New Year

Thanks for your help to Sundance and to our animals.

  32. Just donated. Sundance is in good hands with you, I know. I have a dog from Spain who was also suffering of Leishmaniosis and Ehrlichia. We managed it and he is in a good shape today. It is manageable but expensive. So I hope many others will donate too. Every life is worth to be saved. Thank you Viktor and have a wonderfull new year. You do a great job 🙂 Regards from Switzerland

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Thank you Barbara.. thank you for being there for our animals.
      Happy New Year!
      Viktor

  33. What a sweet dog!!! He was so calm and accepting of your care. I know many people who saw him were probably afraid to help because they might be afraid he wouldn’t be so accepting…. but I would have tried, at least to see how he would react. I believe most animals know when you are trying to help them. Bless you all for everything you do! I can’t donate again until after the 1st of the year but I will have you first on my list! God does have a special place for all of you, I am absolutely positive!

  34. do you have a “Paypal” account set for donations ?
thank you for everything that you ALL do to help these babies…. you are truely Angels among us xxx

      Happy New Year…

  35. Christine says:

Once I’m brought to tears by one of your rescues and I am again in awe of all that you do for these poor creatures. I am so grateful for the work you are doing and so try to contribute to as many cases as I can. I’m donating again for Sundance and hope to hear good news for him in the days/weeks to come. Warm regards, Christine

      Dear Tom,

Many thanks for your kind gift to Sundance. I cannot tell you how much this means to him. I promise you are going to see the most extraordinary recovery… I will be updating more on his condition this evening…
Just one thing… PLEASE don´t send us all your tips from last year. This is too much for one person. Please help Sundance, but don´t send it all…

      Our paypal address is donate@letsadoptusa.org

Whatever you decide to send it´s the amazing gesture that counts.

Many thanks… and Happy New Year!!!

  38. All the animals that you rescue break my heart when I learn of the suffering they have experienced. Thank you Victor and all those who work with you. And thank you to all the generous donors who are always ready to do whatever they can to help save these animals. A donation is on the way. I want so much to see this dog happy, well and loved.

  40. Kim Worthington says:

Hi Viktor and LAG team, you wonderful people. My donation to this beautiful gentle creature is on behalf of the dog who now sleeps beside me and wakes me each morning with a kiss. Carpi – now Chappie – who you took from a shelter with his paw hanging off and made new and brought to me. I am SO VERY GRATEFUL. May 1015 be an even greater achievement than this year. Love Kim xxxx

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks for having been with us during all this year Kim…

We would be willing to open our home to Sundance. We have a Wolfie, a corgi, two cats, eight chickens and four ponies. A fenced in yard in the country next to a Minnesota state parks.

  43. Linda maurer says:

Omg!!!! What a sweet and trusting soul Sundance has with his personal angels…..he must have been in such horrific pain but once he was caught, his fear turned to passion for his rescurers…..the painful look in his big brown eyes brought me to tears…..for all those years he was on the street, hurting and hungry……I just can’t fathom what hoes through the minds of people who throw away their p er ts like garbage. ….if it wasn’t for people like you, I would give up on the human race…..I recently fostered a little 5 year old chi/jack Russell terrier that was taken to a high kill Ft. WORTH SHELTER as a stray..microshipped…the couple had to show an i.d. for bringing in the stray….turned out he was their dog….he was so frightened that a rescurer saw him as a he was picking up another dog….she urgently posted on her site that if he didn’t get rescued or fostered, he would be euthanized at 7 am the next morning…I stepped up and said I wold foster if a rescue could pull him!!!! They did and I agreed to foster him….he was also never neutered, never housebtoken, and Heartworm positive!!!! I picked him up a week later and I went thru his housebreaking, and he had to have his HW treatment which is just horrific …..I never under why the previous owners couldn’t give a little pill monthly to prevent heartworms…..he is 5 weeks post on his treatment and is the love of our lives!!!!! I fell in love with him that day I saw his sad eyes in the photo that was shared that day he was thrown away….as the attendees carried him to his cell…..I knew I had to help him…..and as I write this , he is asleep by my side in bed….it’s now Jan.1, 3015….I didn’t mean to ramble on, but I was do affected by your post, in honor of my newly adopted baby, Patch…..I am donating $50.00 to Sundance medical care….Thank you do much Viktor for wearing your big heart on your sleeve for Sundance….. please keep us posted on his ongoing care…. you and your team are so loved by all of us………Happy New Years!!!!! Love…from Texas!!!

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Many thanks Linda!!!
A big kiss from us to you and Patch! 🙂

  44. Hi Vicktor
He reminded me of my rescued dogs. I have to give – please give him lots of extra love for me. Happy new year.

  45. Watching this made me weep like a child. I just don’t understand that kind of lack of compassion. So many saw him and no one did anything to help him except you. For that, I’m certain you have several pairs of wings waiting for you on the other side. Your work makes my heart happy and restores my faith in humankind. Happy New Year, Viktor and team. May this year bring even more blessings than the last.

  46. I am donating each week to Sundance and to the guy who wants to donate his tips… let him!!
Every time I have ever given money to a dog I have gotten it back in return somehow or someway the universe always gives measure for measure so thank you to him and thank you to everyone else who donated and to you!! so once again I will just try to donate weekly until I get up to at least $100! Sundance needs our help and we are happy to give it!!
    🙂

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Thank you for being there for Sundance Lisa… Glad to have you with us

  47. I just want to thank you for everything you and your team do, if only there were more kind , caring , compassionate people like yourselves in the world. You do an amazing job with every animal you rescue. This beautiful boy has pulled my heart strings. Each video has made me cry. Just by watching you can tell he is a placid loving soul , as he is so willing to be helped.

I have donated and shared the post on facebook.

Get shining your halo Viktor as you certainly are one special angel.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks for your help Jennie. I promise you we´ll change his life completely

  48. Hello
I donated today what I had left over from my rabies shots. It’s a little but I hope it helps somewhat.
I watched that video, OMG those poor feet. Looks like he is going to be another winner. Thank you for the caring work you provide for these lost souls….

  49. Viktor, Sundance is going to make you proud! He’s a fighter and with your help will get better soon. I know you won’t give up on him like so many others did! I donated a little bit, wish it could be more but we’re on a fixed income and have many animals of our own to take care of too.

  50. Very difficult to type with eye’s filled with tears. Once again Viktor and LAG team do what they do best. Happy New Year to the team from Australia. Usual donation to follow. Pawhugs to you all .

  51. I made a small donation towards the care of Sundance. Wish it could be more. My thoughts and prayers are with Sundance and bless you all for rescuing this poor soul.

  52. I donated before I saw ALL of the problems Sundance has. That poor innocent boy! I will be sending another donation as soon as I can! Looking at the first video of Sundance I saw the same look little Romeo had when he had almost given up. Your crew worked their magic on him and I am positive that you can work the same magic on Sundance! (( hugs )) to our Boy!!

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Thank you Rothery… He has nearly the same combination as Simba had… don´t worry… we´ll make him whole again, promised.

  53. catherine says:

I absolutely love Sundance. Will send money next friday. I hope he makes it. Thank you so much for taking care of him.

  54. Viktor you and your team are angels on earth. I have four rescue dogs, one of whom came to me very sick and medically fragile. She is now a feisty healthy (a little Chubby!) and whole once again. These dogs, with their loving, endlessly compassionate eyes bring meaning to my family. Thank you for doing for Sundance what no one else was willing to do. He will be well and whole again, you efforts reverberate through a global community of animal lovers and inspire each of us to do better. I hope my donation helps. I will watch daily for updates. With love to you, your team and that majestic dog.❤️

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks for your assistance to Sundance Heather… thank you!

Thank you TL… just been with him.. he´s feeling better.. we will have an update tomorrow..

  61. Kim Worthington says:

Hi Viktor – glad to hear he is getting better slowly. Just to let you know something about your last video (perhaps the music copyright???) prevents me from seeing it. The message says it ‘contains content from SME and has not been allowed….’

  62. I’m in the US and it wont let me watch the “Cures” video… 🙁 Thank you for all you do!

  63. Margarett says:

I tried to watch the video but it says due to copyright I cannot watch it. I am so sad I will not be able to follow his progress via video but will continue to read about him. I know you do a fantastic job of helping these poor animals survive and can’t thank you enough for that. Please keep up the miracles you are performing with every rescue. <3

  64. Anonymous says:

i am so glad you had eyes and hands all on the lookout for him. You finally got him once he could go on by himself no longer. Without your vigilance he could have passed away. He just had no more effort in him and you will be his support until he has rested and healed. I want to help but cannot yet, the large profitable corporation I work for had cut out all overtime hours and that is how I got the funds I was donating. I am with you all and Sundance in heart and spirit!!!!

  65. Christa Park says:

    Viktor,

Please let me know what I need to do in order to bring this beautiful, amazing animal into my home forever. I am thousands of miles away from Spain, but am willing to do anything within my power financially to bring him to the US. He has captured my heart with his incredible eyes, and terriers are amazing creatures as it is.

He deserves a forever home where he will be cherished for his whole life.

I’ve sent you an email, both telling you about myself and requesting an update.

  66. Hi Victor,

    how is Sundance doing?

    Best regards

  72. Can I see the latest picture of sundance I want to see happy ending story for sandace

  73. It was all I could do to keep from bursting into tears at this video. Poor Sundance! Those ears, those feet, his look of absolute defeat-I seriously wondered if he’d make it or not. Am so happy to hear he was adopted. My 4 dogs are rescues & now I think I’m going to go fuss over each one of them! They could just as easily been in Sundance’s position.
