This blog is trying to save the live of Little Dora, a puppy rescued from a kill pound. Please read it all, watch her video, and please help her by sharing her post on Facebook and Twitter.

Little Dora was found at the last cage at the end of the dark, damp corridor. Curled into a little ball, whimpering in pain. Who knows who here family was, mother siblings, long gone. Little Dora was dumped at the pound two weeks ago with a massive bleeding injury on her left leg. A quick clean up and a shot and she was returned to her cage. The leg got worst, noone cared.

Little Dora´s time was up. It was her time to die. An unfair death, a waste of a life. She would have died without having had the opportunity to savour the good things in life, running in the park, playing at the beach, sleeping in a human bed. The injury has got much worst. There was a smell of decay.

She will be better off dead, they said. There is noone out there that would care for a puppy in her condition, they said.

We know they are wrong. We know there is people out there that will look at Little Dora´s face and leg and will think that she has suffered on her own long enough, that it´s time to do something for her… that she is the prettiest dog in the world and deserves a second chance.…

Little Dora is at our clinic receiving the best of cares. Her treatment is going to be long and costly and it will be done in two stages, first we will have to eliminate all dead tissue, including most of the skin of her leg in order to stop the spreading of necrosis that would end up killing her. Then we will work on recovery, possibly needing several skin grafts.

It is the end of the year for us and with your help, let´s mark today as the beginning of a new life for Little Dora…

December 6: Debridation

I have been rescuing animals for over a decade. By now you would think I´ve seen it all…  but today, standing in front of Dora while we were doing a surgical debridation in order to stop the progress of necrosis I couldn´t hold myself and burst into tears.

Tears thinking of the callous indifference of BOTH the family that abandoned her AND of the shelter workers that allowed this disaster to happen when simple antibiotics would have saved her.

We had to literally peel her leg of dead skin and necrotic fat… We are hopeful we will be able to save her leg, but we are VERY concerned about her little paw…

December 8

We had every reason to be concerned. The condition of Little Dora´s paw was irreversible…

Dora lost her little paw this morning while doing her daily cures. These are terrible news but we were ready for it, we knew the paw was very damaged but we still have to try.

On the positive side, the rest of the leg is having a wonderful evolution and we are confident we will be able to save it.

For now, her daily cures will continue and in time we will be installing a prothesis to replace her lost paw…

LITTLE DORA CONTINUES HER TREATMENT DURING THIS CHRISTMAS!!!!

Dora´s cures continue and slowly slowly her skin is being rebuilt. For the time being Little Dora remains hospitalised at our best clinic.

Update 5 of January

This is the process Little Dora is going through once a week in order to have the skin of her leg regenerate completely…

In the meantime she is staying at our clinic under the loving supervision of our veterinary team.

Please help us offer Little Dora´s a sparkling bright future Help Little Dora donating towards her treatment…

Many thanks!!!

Viktor
P.S. After her treatment is over, Little Dora is going to need an extraordinary home. If you are that home PLEASE write a letter to me on viktor@myletsadopt.com telling me everything about you and your family of animals.  (only serious requests will be answered)

P.S. Please follow Little Dora´s updates at Let´s Adopt Global

  10. Such a pretty, brave little girl. Your work Victor gives me hope and strength that there is unconditional love in the world for every person and every animal. My Dog Marvin has got me through some dark times in my life in London but I NEVER stop donating the small amounts I do as I know it all helps for those who are not as lucky…
MARVIN has a wonderful life and won’t miss a treat here and there so others can be helped. Jonathan. X

  11. Lady Rose is such a big beautiful sweetheart and I hope that she is deemed healthy and is adopted by a good, kind and loving person or family that will love her for the rest of her days. I will never understand how a family can abandon a beautiful family member that has given them her everything for many years and then they just can’t be bothered with her any longer. Lady Rose must be feeling so sad and lonely without her family but a better life is waiting for her.

Little baby Dora is simply amazing…she is so small and so very beautiful. How could anyone with a heart and soul not help this little puppy to survive ?? I am so pleased that this little baby has been rescued by LAG. I am really hoping that her little leg can be saved and she can soon be boudung around, humping and running like every other little energetic p[uppy…I am very interested in adopting Dora and I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of puupy she is because I live in an apartment that will accept little dogs….Please let me know…. Please give Dora big hugs and kisses from me.

  12. I kinda stumbled upon this when a friend shared Dora’s story on Facebook. How can people be that ignorant and how can a puppy that cure end up in a kill pound? Anyway, i hope she gets well soon and finds a new home with loving and caring people. Also donated, i know it’s not much but every little counts, right?

  13. THANK YOU from one Pointer rescuer to another- for saving this precious little Lemon Pointer puppy. We adore our lemon heads and have rescued so many that look like little Dora. 1. Viktor Larkhill says:

  18. gary simpson says:

Donated, well done to the team 🙂 as always showing the world all animals can be saved with effort and good people donating to help.

  19. Stephanie says:

I cant be sure but she looks like maybe a Lemon Beagle and a foxhound or some other hunting dog. I would think she would be medium sized. My Lemon Beagle is a little taller than the tricolor beagles you see but still considered a med. sized dog at about 22 pounds. Gosh she is adorable.

  20. Kim Worthington says:

Come ON guys. You can do this. You can do this. All of us out here have great faith that you will do everything you can do for this sweetheart. Pause for a moment and you will feel us all behind you willing you onto success. xxxx

  21. Viktor TY for saving this precious little girl. How someone can be so inconsiderate of her little life that they let her suffer like this. Especially like you said if she had the care and antibiotics she would be fine. Some people are just so selfish it makes me sick. I am still not working but will share on FB that is all I can do at this time. I just signed a petition that is going around to create an animal abuser list just like they do for sex abusers etc. If this works these people will never be able to have an animal again. Please save her leg I know you will do everything you can. Otherwise being she is so young she will hopefully do great as a tripod. TY Viktor and your team.

  22. Christine says:

I am pretty sure she is an English Pointer (American field lines), her color gis called lemon & White. like my Aura who looks almost identical to Dora!. Females can range from 40-55 lbs. Because if the heath issues and injury so young, she could end up a tad smaller.

  23. Maggie Cain says:

What a sweetie,, all of them are worth saving…thank you for making the world a bit of a better place with all of your efforts. Donated and hoping to donate my time in the next few years…how can I get involved, hands on, with Let’s Adopt?

  24. Kim Gromow says:

Viktor: I don’t truly know how you do this. It breaks my heart to just see this little girl (Dora) and others that you have saved. We need more people like you out there. I will keep my fingers and paws crossed for her. She deserves every chance. Such a little young life with so much pain already but obviously some one was watching out for her or she should have found you.
Donated some money to her today. Hope she recovers quickly and that both her leg and foot can be saved.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Kim… that paw is really worrying me, I think we got in time for the leg, but that paw…. I don´t know

  25. So many of your cases make me cry, just breaking my heart and this one is no exception. I cry thinking of the pain she has been in for way too long. Precious little girl, deserves so much more than she has gotten. I hope and pray that her leg will heal. I know she is in the best hands for recovery. Bless her little heart. I will keep her in my prayers. I just donated to your organization last week. I will do so again soon. Thank you for caring for her.

  26. Still sending prayers for this little baby girl. I did make a donation last night…Please take care of her and keep us updated!

  27. Nancy Shufeldt says:

she is such a beautiful dog!

  28. Nancy Shufeldt says:

    such a beautfiul doggie!

  29. Just donated 50.-USD. I know what pain this little sweetheart is going trough, one of my dogs had an infection just as similar as Dora has. It took months to heal it and was a very hard way to go. Nearly lost the paw. I hope Dora finds a home where she gets the care and love she deserves. I would take her immediatly but I have already three rescued dogs and a 4th is not possible… 🙁 Thank you for all you do. Heaven will bless you, I am sure.

  30. Marion Crist says:

Poor baby now she is with you Viktor we know she will get the best thank you for rescuing her Viktor your team of people and you are amazing please help her we love you Viktor xxxxx

    Where is Dora located?

  35. Liz from Montreal says:

Hope you can save her paw as well. Donated.

  36. She is a beautiful puppy and I know if there is a way to safe her leg and paw, you will. I so wish I could help but I am struggling to come up with money to take my AJ Kitty to the vet. I did share her link. So glad you are helping this beautiful girl.

  37. Wouldn’t it be better to maybe amputate the leg? It might be too far gone. Either way, God bless you for what you do!!

  38. Desiree Velez says:

    I gave for Dora…
    It’s her Christmas gift!

  39. Michele Roddy says:

I am so Glad that this baby has been found and brought to you and your team. She is so young to have gone through all this. I watched the removal of dead skin and fat, but I also noticed your team didn’t work on the paw area. Instead of having to put her under again to do the paw why didn’t they go ahead and work on the whole leg?
I am also a rescuer and have seen what human kind is capable of. So I am following this little girl as long as you will let me.
Thank you so mush for all you do!!

  42. Zara Benton says:

Thank you once again for taking her and helping her LAG, you are ALL wonderful caring people. I do hope you can save her paw too it would be sad to see her loose her leg but I do know that Tripaws get on very well in life too, still I have everything crossed for her paw and for her. She is absolutely adorable I wish I could take her she would love it here in the French countryside. I have 3 terriers and they just will not allow another in to their pack, sadly. I have shared and donated a little and Dora is in my heart surrounded by my love and gratitude that she is no longer suffering in that Hell Hole.

  43. Kent from Sweden says:

A small donation . Hope it helps Dora’s paw.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

  44. Donated! Thanks Victor to have taken so much good care of gorgeous Dora…I am sure she will be able to adapt to a prosthetic paw. She deserves the best treatment and a loving adopting family for all the pain she went through so young. All the best beautiful Dora!

  45. Thankyou for saving sweet Dora, I so love her, how anyone could treat a poor defenceless puppy like that is beyond me. I have been waiting a few months for my rescue dog to come from Turkey otherwise I would of loved to offer Dora a forever loving home where she will be loved and spoilt. I hope she gets the very best home there is, give her a big hug and kiss from me plz

  46. Sara Chapman says:

Dora is such a beautiful dog. Would love her to come live with me and my family in the uk xx speedy recovery to u Dora x

  47. I love her face and omg those ears!

  48. I’m in love with this precious little girl. My husband and I want to be the lucky couple that gets to adopt this precious little Angel. We have an older dog that looks like her. We would give her a very good home and a wonderful life. Our dog is 13 years old and she is still healthy and doesn’t act her age at all. We take her for walks everyday even though we have a backyard. We feed her Healty dog food. We take excellent care of her because she’s our baby. We don’t have any kids together so Dora would be our little girl just like Chili is like a daughter to us. I’m praying for Dora’s recovery. Thank you so much for saving her life. Have a blessed Christmas.

  49. Ruth McCarty says:

Just today I saw on the internet (will try to find it) about a woman in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, USA. A husky was born with two legs too small. She couldn’t use the wheelies. This woman took her to foster. she is the head of a firm called 3D (think that’s it). with 3 d copier she made legs for the little husky. First time she had them on she ran..tears everywhere of course. The lady says this is what 3D is meant to do. In Asia, a US volunteer is making prostetics for people using the same 3 D idea. so let’s do this for Dora…email me. I will try to find the info Victor. email me your address. I’m computer handicapped, little old lady, so ….

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Dear Ruth… I know about that case… don´t worry, we are already working on something for her… many thanks for being there. Love. Viktor

  50. disgusted that a place called a SHELTER would even allow this to happen and NOT do anything about it. What the heck do they think the Meaning of Shelter’s definition is? All Kill shelters are really just Living Morgues. though some may survive it a good most don’t. They are there living to die. This poor baby deserves more than they gave her. It’s time to make “Shelter’s” face the music and either close their Morgues or become a NO KILL place of refuge for those who deserve it. And for letting puppies and older dogs degrade without treatment That is a felony. They should NOT be allowed to have even 1 animal under their care because it’s NOT CARE they are providing.

  51. Christelle says:

My heart broke while watching this movie. So very sad, but there is light at the end of this tunnel, and soon the sparkle in her eyes will return. She is a little fighter. God bless you all for helping her and God bless little Dora.

  52. Dragana Piazzola says:

Victor, you are a true angel. What you and your team do here on Earth will take you to the highest of heavens. I love you and your work. Please don’t ever stop.. We need more people like yourself. You have inspired my daughter to go into medicine and me to become a vegetarian. One love 🙂 <3

  53. I love dora is the cutie puppy I’ve seen
