After 11 years Lady Rose´s death was being announced on Facebook. The family was moving to a new apartment and they couldn´t take her with them. She was going to be taken to the pound the following morning where she would be destroyed.

It was all written in her beautiful old boxer face… her puppy years, the many litters… her love for her family, her children. Here we had a dog that had given all to her family and in her final years she was going to be killed because they simply didn´t know what to do with her.

We couldn´t let this happen… It was the ultimate betrayal to someone that had given them nothing but love and was about to receive a lethal injection as reward for a life of loyalty.

We organised a meeting so that the family could hand her over… It was heartbreaking. Lady Rose knew something was happening and you could see she was nervous by how badly she wanted to please them, rolling on her back and asking to be petted. Here was an old lady desperately BEGGING HER FAMILY NOT TO GIVE HER AWAY…

They made it short… a few pats on the head and they jumped on the car. She followed them with her eyes until they reached the crossroads and joined the highway.

Lady Rose didn´t stop crying on the way to the clinic where I took her for a check up. I was feeling terrible… at the backseat Lady must have been thinking I was taking her away from her family while I knew that I was saving her life.

Lady Rose is looking for a home to spend her golden years. She is incredibly good natured, eager to please and she will do anything for a cuddle. She loves children and everyone she´s met since she´s been with us…

Here are some pictures that fully describe Lady Rose´s character… 🙂

  1. So terrible….
How could a Family…. I’m unable to describe what I’m thinking about such a decision…. Please help her to find a home that will give her a home with Love and Peace… If I could I would adopt her…but unfortunately it’s impossible

  2. Viktor, my heart is breaking. I know how this beautiful dog feels. I am also a “senior” and no one pays me any attention. My kids and grandkids don’t come around much, only when they need a babysitter. I live in senior housing now, and they won’t let me have a dog. I was allowed my two cats, but there are no dogs allowed. That also seems unfair, because I would take this dog and make her happy the rest of her life. And she would do the same for me. I hope you find her the very best home, I know you will. I will pray for her.
    Love, Nancy

  3. She is adorable!!! Thank you for helping her. I would have to be unable (as in very sick) to take care of my pets to give them up. Finding a place to live with them can happen. Sad… sad… for Lady Rose.

    Beautiful sweetie

  5. This is an incredibly sad story, about a companion they had for many years whom they abandoned for what? They didn’t know what to do with her! Shameless!

  6. Why would anyone do this to a dog, they had for many years?

  7. This article does not even hint to the dog’s location. Can someone please tell me where she is?

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Hi Alicia, she is in Valencia, Spain.. the reason we don´t emphasise her location is not only because most people don´t know where that is, but because location is indifferent as we will send her to the perfect home, wherver that is and we will cover the transport costs ourselves.

  8. Who would go to such lengths to write about this AND ask for help… And NOT TELL US WHERE THIS DOG IS?!!! I’m guessing America–but you wouldnt know it because it doesnt even mention a state.

I’m sorry to say–this may be a person manipulating animal lovers for money. This post is irresponsible and preys on people for cash. Very very very suspicious.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

David… she is in Valencia, Spain. Most people don´t know where either is.
We are looking for the perfect home for Rosie, whenever that is… and no David, you don´t have to send any money, if you are the perfect adoptant we will pay all the transport expenses so that you don´t even have to pay for that.
So.. how is that preying for cash? Tell me David…

  9. Where is this beautiful dog. I live in NY Please don’t kill her. There must be something that can be done. I would take her and hold her here for the Holiday, but I don’t know how this works. I am so heartbroken for her. She had the worst betrayal of all time from her family. I hope they rot and burn in Hell. I could never do this to my pet especially after this dog was with them for so long. How do they do his. They must be heartless. In my prayers baby. Please someone save her.

  10. Lovely and faithful and loving friend . Someone will keep faith with you , someone just around the next corner . XXXXXXXXXXX

  11. Traci Grantz says:

IS she safe from being euthanized???

  12. Sue Swartz says:

I started crying the moment her video started. I am so very grateful that you take on these precious dogs that have no one else. I can’t donate this time, but am praying that God would hand pick an adopter for this sweet girl. I LOVED watching Lady Rose interact with the vet tech! Absolutely precious!

  13. Diane Porter says:

Thank you for helping this sweet baby!!! How very sad!! This story made me cry! I wish I could help!! Praying she finds a loving home to live out the rest of her life!!

  14. It is very sad that Rosie has lost her once forever home and it is hard to understand how someone can do it, I am sure it wasn’t easy, she was obviously very loved and cared for. Circumstances change for all kinds of reasons, let’s not judge the people as we don’t know them and the aren’t able to defend themselves. They done a good job or raising a sweet, balanced dog, and didn’t leave her abandoned. Let’s just find her a home peop’s and accept they had no option. Good luck sweet Rosie.

  15. Jana Muniz says:

I would love to have Rose .We are a couple on a farm and we have a spayed 4 yr old boxer who is our child..she sleeps between us in our King sized bed and there is plenty of room for Rose..we love our animals and she would be with us forever…she deserves much better treatment than a family giving her up at this age..I would have problems as far as travel to get her…omg please don’t let her be euthanized…we would love her forever and so would our Sassy…who is very timid and not mean at all !! We are both home at all times and when we go our dog goes with us !!! in the double cab F250…She would never be alone again !!

  16. Lorraine Winson says:

David -why dont you just go onto the internet and look up Lets Adopt Global. You should maybe have done this before you commented, but Im sure that when you have looked, and seen the amazing work that LAG, Viktor and his team do, you will retract your words and perhaps eat a little humble pie.

  17. Once again Australia with their laws regarding animal quarantine stops me from even applying. To bring an animal into this country requires it to be locked up in a facility that does not allow visitors. Would be more traumatic f this beautiful girl.

  18. Would it be hard for someone in the US to adopt this baby? Have you had many people inquiring there in Spain? Probably less traumatic for this precious pup. My heart just broke when I read this.

  19. Millie Portante says:

Is she in a loving home yet?? The last update was Dec. 10, 2014. Please post a picture in her furever home.

  20. Viktor this is so exciting! I am so happy for her! TY for saving her and giving her a second chance.

  21. Karen Zarinsky says:

I have lived places I didn’t want to live because it meant my dog could live with me. How could anyone turn their backs on a lifetime pet and family member? Just unforgivable. Thank you Viktor and company for working your magic again. Bless you.

  22. marion crist says:

Viktor how awful poor lady rose that video made me cry don’t understand people that does this I would never do that to my animals I would never move somewhere where my pets can’t come with me just love them to much

  23. marion crist says:

Im so glad to see that she has been adopted she is an beautiuful dog and such wonderful personality looks as thou she is having some fun to with her friend what an lovely ending to this so sad at the begging but an great ending as she is obvioulsy with people and another dog who will love her 🙂 xx

  24. Once again tear jerker! I’m speechless but always feel that they would take credit for the dogs happiness through their abandonment! Sigh very heartwarming and SO Grateful that you are out there making the world a better place! Thank you Viktor and Lets Adopt Global!! You are amazing

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Thank you Lisa… it´s wonderful to have been able to build this incredible community. It´s thanks to it that all of this happens..

  25. Matthew Williams says:

You know it is terribly sad that a family would give up a pet like this. A member of the family. However not everyone thinks the same as some of us pet lovers and whilst they were thinking of euthanising her, now that she will be adopted instead is a triumph for the community that people stepped in to help. Now it is terribly sad that she has left her first family, life for Rose will go on and what is someone elses loss is someone elses gain. You can see she is a real softy. Rose will have a new life now with someone who will never give her up. This is what matters. We cannot hate the old family – they brought rose this far. Now Rose has to walk a different path. Animals adapt and if loved will become happy again and who knows maybe she will see her old family again one day. You see if it wasnt for a family having a divorce I would not have had my last dog. If it wasnt for an owner unable to cope because of getting old, I would never have had my first dog. If it wasnt for people choosing too strong a pulling type of dog then I wouldnt have the wonderful loving dog I have now who is rolling around on the bed wanting her tummy scritched. Looking backwards isnt the way. Also perhaps its should be left to those close to that family to decide the full circumstances and if what this family did was good or bad and perhaps in this type of situation, because we as the internet dont know the full story. Rose is clearly in the best place and that is what matters.

  26. Ginette Major says:

    Merci Viktor
    Merci, Merci, Merci Viktor
    Gin.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

      Merci bien Ginette… Amitiés!

  27. So honored to be a new monthly donor to this fantastic animal rescue group! Viktor and friends do AMAZING work and I cry tears of joy every time I see a happy video like this of Lady Rose – thank you thank you thank you! 🙂

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Justin.. honoured to have you with us..

  28. Love these happy updates even though I cry my eyeballs out. This is no exception. Thanks for the update .We all need to see happy endings. Will continue to make regular donations for no particular animal. That’s all I can do from Australia.

  29. Ana Chavez says:

Her dream cam true thanks to LAG!!!

  30. So happy for Lady Rose! She has a whole new life to experience with a new best friend too!!
Did I spy Little Dora in the crate next to Rose’s at the airport? Has she also found a forever home? So, so thrilled for both of these wonderful girls !! <3

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

YES!!! That´s Little Dora… There will an update on her this evening!

  31. Karen Neubauer says:

Just so wonderful 🙂 Yet another happy end thanks to you Viktor, your fabulous team and your tribe of wonderful supporters 😀
Hooray Lady Rose! May your twilight years be even happier and more fun than your puppy ones x

  32. So sad.
I love my boxer. He was brought home for another dog that had separation issures. So he turned into her Buddy.
I lost the 1st dog 3-3-2013 to cancer.
Beautiful Buddy died from some kind of neurological issue. On What the vets said. On 3-3-2013 he was let go due to health issues.
I never thought about getting rid of my dogs. I still miss and cry over my babies.
And I am still paying Vet bills on them.
That’s what my credit card is for.

  33. Victor, you and your team are miracle workers. I always feel safe donating when I can because there is never question i how donations are used. Thank you for this uplifting video. Lady Rose is in bloom!

  34. Amazing. Amazing. I sleep better knowing that you are in this world. Thank you Viktor.

  35. Chaitanya says:

Heart Touching .The abandoned caretakers should see this video

  36. Wonderful! That seems perfect for Lady Rose!!! Have a good life beautiful girl!!!
    Great Job Guys!!! Well done!!

  37. David, check before such judgements, viktor does amazing work with these dogs, anyone who cares about animals will know of lets adopt and viktor. The internet provides a wonderful source of help for the rescues and animals, the downside is that it also provides a platform for foolish people who can’t be bothered to check their facts, I think you should hang your head in shame.

  38. Go Lady Rose!!! I think she has a much better family and home now than she did before!!! (What kind of a family could it have been if they moved somewhere she couldn’t follow!) She’s got the life now!! Great video, so wonderful. Thank you Viktor, working miracles as always!

  39. I am with you Lorraine Winson, so many people so ready to slag Viktor & his lovely Vets & team of workers, I have followed them for many years & will continue to do so….Here is a prime example David of what LAG do & it has always been done, they bend over backwards to make sure the animals they rescue & save have the best treatment they can get them with love, care & dedication, I guess people like you wouldn’t go to these lengths, but then I am sure you are not an animal lover, as you wouldn’t have said what you have said, otherwise you would have seen ”Lets Adopt Global’s ” history first….I will be donating a small amout to help get these wonderful dogs a home they deserve, because NO ANIMAL should be treated in such cruel ways like they are…..AND after all that, I thought the video was superb it reduced me to tears of Joy, just wonderful to know that ”Lady Rose” now has a lovely companion & looks like a lovely new home for her retiring years….Thank you so much to new parents xx and for Lady Rose <3 <3 xxx

  40. Thank you so much for the update on her. She has SO much life left in her. Shame on her selfish family. So happy she gets a second chance at a better life 🙂

  41. Linda Norris says:

Well done again Victor and team, what a perfect home you’ve found for Rose, she looks so happy, it brought tears to my eyes. I was so upset when her story first came out, I will never understand the mentality of people like her previous owners. My old cat of 19 years has just died and I would give anything to have had a little extra time with him! Such a shame that there are idiots like David posting uninformed, spiteful, stupid comments on here, but I guess there’s always one! Keep up the great work xxx

  42. sema pezukoglu says:

Thank you again Viktor for working your magic and saving Rosie. David obviously doesn’t know about your work but I’m sure, after the reaction of your supporters, he will realise that Viktor, LAG and his team are verified rescuers and that the world is honoured to have them working to help those that we cannot.
    Thank you again Viktor.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Thank you very much for your words Sema..
