THIS IS A DESPERATE APPEAL… Please watch this video…

Mika was found in one of the worst shelters in Turkey, stumbling from one side to another, fending off the attacks of other dogs that didn’t respected the fact that she was too old and too blind to be any real threat.

We can only imagine what she must have gone through. The loss of both eyes due to chronic glaucoma. This could have been prevented, but for that she should have had a friend, an owner, someone responsible… she had noone, she only had pain and a progressive darkness totally taking over her world.

Mika is an absolutely incredible dog. She is super social, friendly to everyone she has ever met, like most dogs, if you met her you wouldn´t even think she is blind!.. her incredible sense of smell and hearing guides there through the world without a problem.

But a dark cloud casts over Mika´s future. Just the day before was due to fly to her forever home a final vet check has found out a tumor the size of a tennis order xanax usa ball on her front shoulder. Please look at this video…

An initial exploration and cytology indicates that it could be some form of cancer, but we need to operate her AS SOON AS POSSIBLE in order to figure out what form of cancer it is and to design the right protocol for her.

We are fighting against a most cruel disease, but there is also hope, and we would want to cling onto it.

We don´t know how bad it is, but I can promise you something… Mika is going to have the best of everything, of absolutely everything.

Update 21 July…

Mika has been operated. The mass has been removed from her shoulder and immediately sent to the lab for a pathology report.

We don´t know at this stage what the future will bring.

Her life, is in our hands now…

Please, if you can, help me secure enough funds to continue Mika´s treatment…

  1. Victor I sent over a small amount that is all I really can do right now. My money is really tight but this is very important and needs to be addressed right now. She is beautiful and deserves the best of the best after all she has been through. Please take care of her. I wanted to help Tara also but that will have to wait for a while. Give her a hug for me please.

Many many thanks Sue… Really appreciated. I will give Mika a hug from you. Promised.

  2. Pam Garlisch says:

I hate to ask this Viktor because you know I am always behind you 150% and have donated many, many times and I did just now donate for Mika, but why was this not caught sooner? The growth seems to be quite big and it seems that anybody petting her would notice this tumor and have done something about it.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Mika came from Turkey where truly, the standards are not the same.
She has an incredibly thick fur, when she arrived here it just went unnoticed. She is staying at our boarding facility that has been sending daily pictures, pictures that have been published on our site. Noone noticed anything until now.
But that´s the thing with growths… they are there, growing, and one day someone notices it.
But actually, think about it.. had we noticed it earlier we would have probably just wait and see its evolution, can´t start doing procedures like these every time a little lump appears as they tend to be mostly Lipomas (Fat). Anyway, we got it now. We are going to biopsy on Monday, then well see..

  3. Bettina Krüger says:

Viktor,I spend a little bit.God bless Mika, you and your team. My heart is with you and all animals that you rescue. Thanks!

  4. I have supported you and donated also how could this have gone unnoticed till now ?

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Ken… Mika came from Turkey where truly, the standards are not the same.

  5. SUE GRIFFITHS says:

I’m so sorry that a tumour has been found on lovely Mika. After all she has been through, this is so unfair. Life can be so unfair. I hope Mika will come through this, she deserves the best life possible, bless her. Thank goodness she is in the capable hands of LAG. I’m also sorry for the wonderful family who have offered Mika a good and loving home. She should have been with them by now. I will send a small donation and hope it helps together with other donations for beautiful Mika. Also sharing. Sending my love from Wales, in the UK.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Sue… we hope its not something that can´t be dealt with. .

  6. I have also donated a small amount as well. Gave to you the other day to help with the little kitten with the exploded eye. Sorry forgot the name. There have so many of late I am running out of brain space to remember all of them. Hoping the lump is not cancer at all. Please also give a huge hug from me and my hubby. Thank you Viktor.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks for your help to Mika and to Carlitos, that by the way is doing GREAT.. Ill give an update on him during today… you’ll love it..

  7. Lynette Elliott (Morrow) says:

This one makes me cry. I rescued a 14 year old Jack Russell terrier from death row about 9 months ago. She’s nearly blind and almost completely deaf and was recently diagnosed with a bladder tumor (transitional cell cancer) that is inoperable. Time is precious. Even if you cannot rid sweet Mika of her cancer, at least she has known real, true human love…human touch…unconditional care. I tell my little Bingo every day how sweet and special she is and how much I love her. If I could hug and kiss Mika and tell her the same thing, I would! I’m sure you all do, but maybe you can give her a little extra from me. Prayers and wishes for a removable tumor!

  8. Virginia Stewart Carton says:

How is it Viktor that this mass was only discovered at the moment Mika was to be sent to her family? This type of mass doesn’t grow overnight and someone taking care of Mika was not paying attention it seems. Hope the cytological biopsy is a ‘benign’ result…this poor girl has been through the wringer!! Thank you for helping her…but you must have a good talk to the caretakers…anyone caressing this dog on a daily basis would have noticed a growth!

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Virginia… Mika was in Turkey were the vets are .. well…
Also, had the growth been discovered while in Turkey there would have been nothing we could do as she couldn´t have been treated there.
When Mika arrived here a couple of weeks ago she went straight to our boarding place, which is, believe me, wonderful. Mika´s fur is incredibly thick… the lump is not noticeable in plain site, believe me. Add to that the fact that her behaviour is completely normal and you get the situation we have… Anyway, we noticed that and we are sorting it out. Nothing else I can tell you I´m afraid.

  9. Jacqueline Robinson says:

Donated for sweet Mika and sharing on FB!~~ Please help save her so she can have a good life in the years she has left.

  10. why did nobody find this “tennis ball” earlier? did nobody hug her or grab on her
    regards

  11. Sylvie Auger says:

Hi Viktor. I send a little money via Paypal and I shared on Facebook for this beautiful baby. I’m sorry to can’t give more right now but it’s from my heart. I wish you the better luck to help Mika.

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Many thanks Sylvie… very thankful for your help.. thank you

  12. I do understand that veterinarians need to make money too, but sometimes they should do surgery at cost, or even free for animals such as this. They should set up offices where a number of vets give some time for free. These animals need help just as much as animals that belong to the rich.

  13. Karmen Sarioğlu says:

Hii Victor, I try to donate, but I can just send small amounts. As far I understand MIKA is not in Türkei, because I would love to see her here, to spend some time with her. PLEASE, give her a very big hug from me,

    all best, Karmen

    1. Viktor Larkhill says:

Yes Karmen… she left Turkey a few weeks ago. She is not in Spain being treated…
Ill tell her you say thanks.. she is being operated today..
      Love
