The beautiful dog you see laying on the floor with two broken legs is Gala, and she is a Spanish Galgo.. Today I’m going to start her story with a hunting video shot in Spain, in Medina del Campo, a town in the middle of the central plains of the country. In it I’m going to take you to the kind of event none of you will ever visit in real life. A few minutes witnessing the deplorable spectacle of hunting with Greyhounds (Galgos in Spanish). I encourage you to watch it… it will take you to another world…
Other than the cruelty and brutality of such an event, the noises, the brutal screams of the people witnessing the hunt, I want you pay attention to the dogs themselves. One of the purest of breeds, and the fastest. An unbelievable animal bred for centuries to achieve sharp reflexes and amazing speeds. An animal of pure beauty used for the evil amusement of some. Not the fault of the dog…
Galgos are also some of the most abused animals in the world, used as a tool by hunters and betting professionals they are often discarded at the end of their useful life, killed in the most heinous of ways, or like in Gala’s case, discarded like garbage.
This is Gala… she was found abandoned in an open field in Sevilla with multiple open fractures. There is no way of knowing how those legs were broken but it’s obvious that it was through the use of brutal force, and then, after her legs were destroyed, the brutes that used to be Gala’s owners dumped her on the fields.
Broken fractures, exposed bones, there is no need for a Xray to appreciate the full extend of the injuries, but here they are anyway, as they need to be seen.
We MUST operate Gala urgently.. we don’t know how long she has been in this condition and the pain must be excruciating. The bones are completely exposed and starting to sign signs of necrosis. To fix her legs we will use blockage buy levitra next day delivery plates as well as a new product not widely available yet, TruScient. TruScient’s active ingredient, Dibortermin alfa acts on the bone structure accelerating it’s re-composition This product has been only made available so far to a selected number of vets in the country. Our clinic being one of them.

Gala is well on her way to recovery.. her injuries are healing well, and best of all, she walks!!!.. we promised you she would walk, and soon run.. and here she is!!!!

I am very touched by the history of Gala and very sad about humans
This is so utterly horrendous. I can’t wrap my mind, around the facts, she was hurt in this cruel manner, starving, and left to die. Some of the human race, make me sick, and my blood boil. My thoughts are totally numb for all the continued abuse I witness of all animals, and this one is not any sadder than any other. Although, I pray that you can save her, it seems to me that the cost of her medical far exceeds what could help many others to be relocated that don’t need extensive surgeries. Sometimes you have to just let them go and end her misery. It’s a shame that people abuse animals and call that entertainment.
It never ceases to amaze me the brutality that humans inflict on sweet innocent animals in the name of sport/hunting, etc. The human race is a sick, sick species that inflicts pain and suffering on animals for pleasure. This poor dog must be in agony – I broke my foot badly and the pain was horrific and mine wasn’t an open fracture so I cannot begin to imagine how much pain Gala must be in. I’m sharing this story with my friends and other groups I’m involved with.

There has to be something seriously wrong with your country if these cases are – rampid. I must agree with @Pat above. Correct the problem in fining these inhumane persons that are tormenting animals in your country. In this case, I hope you choose amputation and find this dog a decent home – if possible.
That is not a sport — this is a BLOODBATH –the rabbit has NO WHERE to go or anyway to find a hole- The dogs will run themselves into the ground. . What are all those horses for?
I will never ever understand how people can stomach doing this to helpless animals. Or children. Our creator must look at how we have turned out and be so dismayed. Such cruelty. I hope each one of these vicious individuals reaps their just and severe punishment someday, somehow, even if it is in the afterlife.
I hope her legs can be saved but if not there are special “carts” which have helped many dogs to have a very good life without the use of their back legs. One person I knew, her dog had CDRM and lost the use of his back legs. He had a very good quality of life with his “cart” – two wheels and a special harness that enabled him to do what dogs love doing – going for walks, chasing a ball…just enjoying life. Beautiful Gala at least has a chance of having these things – and a loving home where she will never be ill-treated again. Curses on the scum who did this to her.

I cried for you because I just can not understand the cruelty of the act of breaking your bones… I guess you are very lucky to have been found but my tummy is twisting with the thought of all those Galgos out there,with a similar faith that was never found. I hope your story can help us to change and change those people who see it in their right to inflict pain upon you. I have read the story of this gorgeous dog and it brought tears to my eyes, I watched just the beginning of the video (that was the furthest I could go) where the owners are petting their dog but yet they’re going to do something so cruel and sickening to the dog and the dogs cries before the event started just broke my heart I couldn’t even watch what was going to happen to these gorgeous dogs I was already feeling their pain. This should be OUTLAWED any TYPE of animal abuse, fighting should be! It’s a disgrace and for people to get enjoyment out of it is SICKENING! I love my dog and I give him all the love any animal should ever know, now I’m going to go hug my dog and continue to be a loving, caring pet owner to my baby boy as I have always been since he was 3 months old when I got him

Is it just the one leg thats broken .. or is it both ??? surely with a fracture like the one in the photo and gangrene being a risk it would be best to amputate the leg … dogs do very well on 3 legs … if other legs are involved then I understand that might not be a feasible option … and I’m sure the vets know best … but I kind of hope they not using her as a guinea pig to try this new treatment out rather than amputating it which may be a better option

I watched the film Earthlings this weekend, what animals can go through, it’s just not right, when there is a chance at life we must give it to them.
So glad that Gala will walk again! I can’t believe people think death or amputation is preferable.

I have just sad and laughed and cried through Gala playing with the kitten. Despite the pain she was in she played so gently with the kitten – what a wonderful heart-warming video. I have had a leg amputated and believe me, it is the surgery of last resort! After everything she’s been through Gala has remained trusting of humans. Most animals that have been through such trauma would hate humans but she seems so kind and just wants to be loved (don’t we all?!) God bless you Viktor and all your team of staff for taking such good care of all these animals who other vets have said they are unable to help. I would love to adopt Gala, she is such an amazing dog but my circumstances are such that I don’t feel able to at the moment. I’m sure she’ll find an amazing home.

I didn’t realise one of Gala’s front legs was broken too – thought it was both of her back legs. Really hoping this lovely girl makes a good recovery. Infection setting in is always a risk and problem so hoping and praying that doesn’t happen. Really, really hoping for the best for this lovely girl. Please give her a cuddle from me x

Am wondering about the bone, it seems to me that the broken parts were exposed to air, dirt, and germs…was it safe to use it. I’m sorry I just cannot watch the videos, it is to hard for me. Please explain how the operation was accomplished. Thank you for rescueing these poor creatures.
You people, if you broke your arm or legs and it has a chance to heal and you being able to use it again, would you rather amputate it and lose your chance of having both of your hands to use again, or go ahead and give it a shot? -.-

You are all angels the way you demonstrate compassion and commitment to beautiful animals who only wish to be loved and cared for. Part of our family now is a rescue greyhound who is a placid, loving, gentle giant. He and our 3 rescue cats snuggle up together to sleep. I find it sickening that members of the so called ‘human race’ commit acts of cruelty against animals. I am praying for Gala and hope she will find a home where she can be loved and spoilt. I have great admiration for you all, ans thank you for helping to restore Galas faith in humans.

I love greyhounds they are so beautiful as they are graceful! Their legs longs and thin and easily broken to begin w/ as in the states they race these beautiful dogs and when they are finished in the racing business we in the states do about the same w/ these beautiful dogs as that country does put them out to pasture where they don’t care so here in the states we have special sanctuaries set up for the lucky ones that get to live out their life there but what happens to the unlucky ones? Gala is a very lucky dog and for those who think she should have been put down, do you put humans down just because they have a bad break? Well of course not than dogs should have the same rights and medical care that humans have if it is available, right? Let these good people help these animals w/o any negative convictions, please! It is very sad and heartbreaking for thinking how much pain Gala had to deal with…. physically and mentally. I am glad to see her recovery under the great care of loving people, thank you very much. I strongly wish these inhumane events will be none from this world some time. May your rest of life be full of happiness, Gala!
Is there a paper that we can put our name on to come agains this kind of sport and treatment of the dogs, so that they can shut this hunting down ? Please let me know if someone is trying to STOP THIS with enough signitures to bring to SPAIN’s GOVT so that they can’t do this sport again ? OR that they will be LIABLE AND GO TO JAIL IF ANYONE IS FOUND HURTING THEIR DOG AT ALL !!!
I cannot believe how so called human beings can be so cruel. They have got to be sick and completely void of any feelings. I wish they could be punished, it is a disgrace that nothing is done to protect these poor animals. Surely something can be done to stop these atrocities.

Diana, they saved her from the fields, but we paid, and we are still paying for all her treatment and operations. IF you want please write to them and ask them.
Just paid another 700 Euros for her rehabilitation last week.
This is so distressing i cant believe that people would ever do this to a beautiful animal!!.poor girl.It is to much for the mind to take in to see this. is there a petition to stop these dogs being used like this and then being dumped. surley the government can do something or someone can set this up x..thank you so much for all you do and the skill you use to make them better you are such wonderful people x i hope she is doing well and gets a forever loving home soon xx
