Tanya Fusco, E-Learning professional, mother and social media enthusiast, former Olympic torch carrier, from Peterborough, Ontario, and in her spare time, Founder and Administrator of one of the worst examples of slander and libel on Facebook, the Page Let’s Adopt Global Beware. At some point last year, attracted by Let’s Adopt! remarkable success in our animal rescue operations across the world, Tanya Fusco, a former assistant professor at Fleming College and former consultant at Saint Elizabeth Healthcare opened up a Slander and Libel Page on Facebook, in an attempt to undermine our work. For about a year, much like a dead corpse rotting in the fields would attract all kinds scavengers and bugs, Tanya Fusco’s little internet corner has become a meeting place for every puppy mill and illegal teacup breeder, animal hoarder, scammer and internet stalker out there, lurking and operating on the fringes of animal rescue. For over a year, Tanya Fusco did everything she could to conceal her identity. At some point when I figured out who the creator of that Page was, I reached out to Shirley Sharkey, CEO of Saint Elizabeth Healthcare, and at the time, her employer. It was a direct and friendly letter urging her to do something about the activities of her employee/contractor during normal business hours. Sharkey, herself an animal lover, took my note seriously, and through her HR department, they communicated Fusco their extreme displeasure. For a while, it seemed as it the slander and libel would stop. But it didn’t… after the cessation of her contract at Saint Elizabeth Healthcare it got worse, and worse, and then some… the lies continued, the unfounded accusations of financial impropriety, the personal attacks, the misleading of the public, presenting a completely false image of our organization continued. Until yesterday, Tanya Fusco crossed a line that should never be crossed.  Tanya Fusco On the 15 of July, through a Facebook post, Tanya Fusco implied that the Founder of one of the worlds most respected animal rescues is stalking her daughter on Facebook. Her public accusation on Facebook is not only yet another lie, it’s an attack on every Let’s Adopt! member and it’s an embarrassment to everyone that knows both Fusco and ourselves. This is not a new move for Tanya Fusco. In April 2011, Fusco stated on CARE2.com that she and her family had been threatened due to her negative campaign on Dean Del Mastro an Ontario Politician. There is a pattern here, one that I have no doubt must have extended across Tanya Fusco’s personal and professional life until now. Tanya Fusco, is now strategically using her daughter as a human shield. A move that has placed her in the top 10 of most repugnant human beings we’ve ever come across. You need more proof? Ok, here… as a visual it couldn’t be clearer. Who on earth would both conduct a slander campaign whilst at the same time exposing her child in such a perverted way? This is her own Facebook profile. I ask you: If she was “protecting” her, why would this become her very PUBLIC Facebook cover at what appears to be soon after the alledged attack? After.
What she’s not counting on is us calling her on her gamble. Tanya Fusco is accusing us of committing crimes against a minor, a libelous comment against the organization. Why would someone put so much effort in launching out baseless and ridiculous accusations, slandering and attacking an organization that does as much good as Let’s Adopt! Global? This is an organization that goes where nowhere else goes, that focuses its attention on the rescue of severely injured, blind, paralyzed and handicapped animals and that succeeds there were most other animal organizations fail. Why would anyone go through such an effort to destroy our work? Why would you want to destroy an organization that rescues blind kitties? Why would anyone go to the extend of lying and showing herself and her daughter as victims of imaginary attacks on a minor by an organization like ours? P.S. Tanya, most blinds are closed because in the hot Spanish summer you so much dream about, the sun hits that part of the building and its too hot for the families living there. This woman should seek some serious counseling. I have researched her and she has a major pattern of slandering people and lies upon lies. She purposely goes after people and lies about them. She is nothing but a self rightous self centerd person who is full of hate and will stop at nothing when someone catches her in a lie and calls her out. She is one of those relentless psycho’s who thrives on other people’s misery and creates as much of it as she can. That’s what people like her get off on. It’s unhealthy and usually people like that end up in jail or worse because when they can’t control something or someone, they lose control. Right now she is losing control and this is getting way out of hand by her own doing. It’s harrassment at it’s worse and it will only get worse. If her endless goal to destroy LAG ever comes to an end, she will only target someone else. People like that are so sad. I feel sorry for them.
What the hell is wrong with this woman besides undiagnosed mental illness? Her vindictiveness is evil.
This fat-mouth “person” ( and you can tell she has a fat mouth just by her girth) has nothing better to do during the day between the Twinkies, Chocolate cupcakes, high calorie sodas. (If there is a legitimate medical reason for this “problem” then I truly apologize). I cannot understand why someone would try to cause harm to an organization that’s only purpose is to help animals in need who’s only alternative is death. As far as Victor’s finances goes, well it takes a lot of effort to run an organization such as his and if he takes a few bucks for dinner or a movies, so be it. He has earned every cent (or Lira) he gets for his work. If I had money (i am medically retired) I would gladly donate as much as I could for his organization. I could only wish that the supposed animal welfare organizations in this county could do as much for the animals as Victor has in Turkey, but I cannot tel you what I have personally experienced with these unhelpful groups. I can’s get started on these groups because there is not enough time left in the day for me to do so.
I realize that “Let’s Adopt” has raised funds despite Tanya. But he behavior reflects attitudes that are not likely to change – so she will most likely pull the same tricks whenever the next person offends her. Therefore, in the interest in legitimate free speech (rather than the right to slander and libel) I believe we need to put a stop to this behavior.
I find Tanya Fusco’s position and statements highly offensive. Therefore, I believe she has no place on facebook. How many names can we get on a petition to ban her?
Dear J White, thanks for your comment. Whilst I shouldn’t comment on Tanya Fusco’s junk food diet, I can comment on the comment about me taking a few bucks for movies…
We don’t… that’s not how Let’s Adopt! works. Since its inception, Let’s Adopt! has been a volunteer-only organization. The only professionals that get paid are vets, airlines and the occasional company providing services like internet hosting, etc…

I’ve come across some of the most amazing people on Facebook. I’ve also come across people I did not want to know existed and definitely did not want to have to deal with. Tanya Fusco is one of the latter, together with her group of followers and her many many fake accounts on Facebook from which she keeps posting her utter nonsense and accusations. Having been a member and supporter of Let’s Adopt! Global for a few years now I know for a fact that Tanya’s accusations are false, very false. It sure looks like she has made a fulltime job out of making up stories.
I have NEVER come across anyone as rude as Tanya Fusco! Further, the only kind of person who would make a Facebook site using someone else’s name, adding “BEWARE”, is a troublemaker and a liar. Tanya Fusco needs to do something constructive with her life, rather than spending all her waking hours trying to hurt people. She needs to stay away from GOOD rescues like LAG! If her heart was TRULY in helping animals she would go make legitimate complaints where needed. This just goes to show she really isn’t interested in helping animals.
To add… Viktor and the people on/of LAG would NEVER stalk ANYONE! Ridiculous!!!
What Tanya has done by targeting Let’s Adopt Global is beyond comprehension to me. A group that rescues animals, especially ones that are handicapped, becomes a target of an obsessed woman whose goal is to destroy them and their work. Sounds like a Hollywood movie to me. But the unfortunate thing is that this is really happening. This woman is attempting to destroy the reputation of some of the most caring and selfless individuals I have ever known, as well as LAG as a group. Please share this blog, people need to know the truth and this woman needs to be stopped from the lies that she tries to spread. The worst part is that the ones who will be hurt the most are the animals that won’t be saved. LAG is the most incredible rescue I have ever come across and I will continue to support them through donating to the animals and sharing them and their work with my friends.
Since I have been on FB, I have seen some of the most disgusting behavior by many individuals hiding behind the computer keyboard. They say vicious things without reason and absolutely tear people apart for just the fun of it. The internet is a wonderful tool for the hateful to vent their spleens and no one knows who they are as they invent FB pages, trash whoever they need to, and disappear.
The most ironic aspect to the Fusco fiasco is the fact that Tanja Fusco NEVER contacted LAG and asked to find out the truth behind her false accusations. Not once. She had been a silent observer and based all her accusations on second, third, fourth hand information. I am ashamed to share this planet with her.
I approve of Viktor’s work with Adopt Worldwide! And I am happy to donate to support the animals and Viktor’s work. I wish that people who have negative things to say would fix their own lives and leave others alone. Thank you, Viktor, for the work you do. PS. I also donate to other small groups that do animal rescue and adoption, and I do not choose to audit how they spend the money or even insist that they have not-for-profit status. Namaste,Viktor. Yup the psycho is at it again. This time she claims my mother and I have posted abuse on this blog targeting a minor! We have said NOTHING about any minor on here or anywhere else! WTF is wrong with this woman?! She should be locked up in an assylum and put on heavy meds because she clearly needs them! This all snowballed this morning because my mom posted a comment on here. UN effing real! There is no way in hell myself or my mother would waste our time with these people. For some reason they keep coming after us lately. I’m starting to feel like I’m stuck on some stupid reality TV show! All of this because I love a page that she hates! And I will defend it. Never at the cost of doing something illegal but I am a US citizen. I have the right to free speech and my own opinions! That doesn NOT make me a child abuser or a terrorist! I do NOT have to like this woman and I do not! That does not mean I would go out of my way to get myself in trouble over the likes of her! What bothers me most is how contrived she may have made this situation with her daughter.
Who exposes her daughter even more in a very public way AFTER reporting some alleged attack or harassment? Who?
If I had a child, and I am claiming that someone has harassed or even assaulted my child, I would not have my child’s photo on my very public facebook cover page. Nope. But in this case it appears that she placed her child’s picture on her page AFTER this alleged assault. Very, very strange. Apparently this social media consultant doesn’t seem to understand Facebook’s very good privacy settings. Anyway, no one seems to be bothering her daughter here or at Let’s Adopt! Global. She’s a lovely child.

Unfortunately having been in rescue/spay neuter (mostly cats) since 2006 you learn that you see “all types”. I have had people threaten to throw cats out windows, to the dogs you name it all in order to get what “they want” which is something for free. They win because I run right over to rescue these cats because I am afraid some of these people will do what they say they will.
Rescue work pays off in the end with all the love we get from the animals and every now and then the greatness we see in the human beings we get to work with…. though lately that is few and far between. We do what we do for the animals and nothing more.
Great work Viktor! I believe in you and I know that you are making a difference in every animal’s life that you can. Your care and compassion show in every post, every plea that we read and I wish you lots of luck fighting off the parasites that continue to plaque you. Viktor, I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I have been hearing about these supposed threats and abuse towards a child and it is refreshing to read the truth behind these stories.
I lived in Majorca for a year and agree that in the afternoon one has to close the shutters because it becomes so hot…and it’s also the time for siesta.
I know of another organisation in the UK that does fantastic work rescuing ex puppy farm dogs. They came under the very same type of attack where an internet blog was set up making very similar allegations. Some of the posts were found to be posted during working hours and, quite rightly, the rescue contacted the employers and asked them to get their employee to stop. Most organisations have internet usage policies and I would imagine that making false allegations about individuals and organisations would contravene such policies. I think you did the correct and proper thing by contacting her employer. She should have been working…not harrassing others.
I am so sad that this is happening and especially now the stupid comments relating to where your mother lives. This is simply pathetic and truly worrying.
