Peta is not operative in Turkey.
Why?
Because it is nearly impossible to get people to work together AND because they know there will be no donors.
Peta is nothing but a fund raising machine. Some good work comes out of it.. maybe, but with the tens of millions of dollars they receive on yearly donations little wonder..

Bu arada dediginiz gibi Beykoz Belediyesinin cok iyi icraatlarida olabilir tebrik ediyorum kendi adima ama sunu bilmeniz gerekir bu onlarin yapmasi gereken seydir. Nasil hergun babamiz eve ekmek aliyor diye ona minnet duygumuz kadar bunun onun gorevi oldugunu biliyorsak, belediyeye de ayni duygularla sorumluluk arayisi icerisindeyiz.Ortada toplumsal bir problem varken bunu bireysel yardimlarla cozulemeyecigini bilmeniz gerekir. Gerek medya gerek negatif yaklasim gerekse sizin gibi ayni tarafta olupta ayni gorusu paylasamadigimiz kisilerlede olsa savunma savunmadir. Unutmayin ki “Aktivistlik her şeyden once dürüstlüğü ve adil olmayı gerektirir. Sadece gazetecilerle ormana hayvan beslemeye gelmek, elde hiçbir kanıt olmadan köpek ölüleriyle gösteri yapmak, kişilerin kendi güvenirliğini yok eder” dediginiz kisiler bu yola herseylerini koymus ne bir reyting ne bir oy nede para arayisi icinde olmadan sadece insan olduklarinin farkinda olarak mucadele yapmaktadirlar.

O yuzden bir susup iki kerede dusunelim konusmadan once…!

The best way to end the cruelty in these regions is to encourage the local people themselves to work against it – hold public demonstrations, take their case to the media, and use any political clout at their disposal. We fight for animals in many countries, but without the invaluable support of local people fearlessly denouncing cruelty, we can only offer animals so much.
For this reason, we recommend that you contact animal advocacy groups in Turkey. For them, the problem is local, and they will be your best source of information about local laws and other relevant matters.
Ultimately, great courage and strength will be required to fight against the injustice and cruelties currently practiced in Turkey. It is vital that local activists enlist as many influential people, as well as “people on the street,” as they can to support their cause by writing to the papers, talking to the media, and encouraging those in power to help effect change.
