Chanel’s story is somewhat atypical amongst the vast array of cruel
realities we face daily here on Lets Adopt.
We didnt find Chanel abandoned in the forest, or in the highway, she
wasnt rescued from the hands of some brute maganda and no, she doesnt
come from Beykoz either.
Chanel was found when she was going through the metal detector at
Kanyon, Levent, Istanbul’s ultra-modern shopping mall.
It was pure luck.. as I was heading to a meeting I was struck by the
weird vision of a small Pomeranian-sized dog, cropped shaven, entering
the shopping mall, rushing through the metal detectors and running
towards the automatic stairs followed by a couple of security guards
screaming orders on their walkie-talkies. They were trying in vain to
catch her but she was too fast.. she went past the Harvey Nichols
security guard and entered one of the worlds most expensive department
store.
She passed through the perfum and make up section, past the mens
section and headed straight to the Womens designers area. She stopped
in front of the Chanel display and waited.
The security guards didnt know what to do.. luckily a handsome
Zegna-clad gentleman (me) was there to save the day.
I named her Chanel.
Chanel is a beautiful and sparkling Pomeranian mix, she has the little
mouse face, and the big bright eyes, the speed, the charm, the
playfulness… whomever is the idiot that decided to cut all her hair
with scissors desserves to have his penis chopped (but that is another
story).
Actually, Chanel ended up in a home where the are no penises to be chopped off! She lives with two nice ladies in Levent, Istanbul.
Her new family love traveling. They spend summers in the Aegean coast of Turkey, and travel all year round around the country. Chanel will get to travel with them, see new places, and maybe check out the fashion stores in some of the new places she will be seeing.
As for me, I will keep waiting in front of Harvey Nichols in Kanyon.
Just in case another Chanel drops by…
