Carlos was most likely kicked by someone as a result of which his diaphragm was punctured. A punctured diaphragm causes an enormous amount of pressure in the lungs as well as in the abdominal area. It will cause unbearable pressure even to the heart.
Now, imagine you can’t breathe and there is so much pressure in you that you are ready to explode.
Carlos was just like that when a member of Let’s Adopt found him on the street about 20 days ago. The vet who operated on him gave him just 17 per cent chance of surviving. But Carlos took that 83 per cent and made it. He has been recuperating for 3 days now in a foster home.
Our best guess is that Carlos is 2 months old. He loves chicken, and made it clear to us that he doesn’t like milk that much. Oh, and he is very joyful around people. Mind you, he loves playing hide and seek!
He now lives with Tayfur and Carmen the cat, two of the wonderful members of Lets Adopt.

Amanda was found with a broken hip in an Istanbul village.
The villagers told us she had been there, unable to move for over a week. Some of them were giving bred and water to the dog, others were complaining and wanted the dog removed just in case it would recover and started attacking people.. Nobody bothered calling a vet. Nobody. One week.
Unbelieveble…

We rescued the dog, treated her broken hip. We named her Amanda.
She lives now in Germany, with a lovely family.
It doesnt look like she will be attacking any Turkish villager any time soon…

here is Puffy.. from Mersin to Ankara as a gift to some capricious kid. …
Abandoned in the garden of a mental institution…
We saw this case on the net… we were very touched by the helplessness of the poor animal and the callousness and viciousness of the so-called-owners. He was just there, abandoned in that park, approaching everybody and wanting to play. The usual shitty neighbors were complaining, the dog was about to be picked up by the municipality and, in all likelihood killed as it is the custom here.
These are the first pictures we saw of Puffy on the net.

And then we intervened… one of our volunteers went and rescued the dog inmediately. A few days later that person, whom we had never spoken earlier, drove the dog all the way from Ankara to Istanbul.
Today Puffy leads a happy life with Gokhan and his family in Istanbul…

Elektra
Elektra is a beautiful german shepherd female. She is about two years old.
She was an emergency case. She had been abandoned in a villa in Riva.
The family left and of course, couldnt care less about what to do with the dog so they left her behind.
We dont know how long she has gone without food and water. She is in a very good state of health but we needed to find her a family ASAP.
The poor thing was waiting at the door of her home.. waiting for the family to come back..
She is very very nice, very loving and nice character she was just there.. abandoned.. waiting for someone to kill her .. because this is what would have happened if she had stayed there for long.. sooner or later Muharrem Ergul would have found her or some crazy nutter (there are many around) will decide to do something nasty, like cutting her tail, or ears, or god knows what. Or worst, some crazy hoarder would have taken her to some shelter.
We needed to find a place for Elektra… urgently.

We were lucky… it took us only a few hours to find the right place for her.. we flew her to Ankara where she lives happy with her new family.

Timucin was rescued from one of the worst cases of animal cruelty we have seen in Turkey, Fathma Balkanli, the woman that runs the little shop of horrors in front of the Ciragan Palace.
Painstakingly we nursed him back to health.. it was a long and complicated process but today Timucin is a healthy and happy dog.
