Also you can adopt after you leave Turkey. The dog can be delivered to you in the cargo section of plane and you pick it up in any Us airport.

Hi Danielle,
Probably you are already back in the US by the time I saw this post..Yes of course it is possible to adopt a dog from Turkey.. Very easy procedure...Or you can ven pikc a free stray one wondering in the streets
You adopt the dog, then have vet check and get a stamp Id from vet that his vaccinations are done and he is healthy then you take it with you by plane to USA..No waiting required at the Turkish customs except I believe 24 hrs before flight you need take the do to airport and check him in a day before and leave the dog there overnight..And no waiting at the US customs, no quarantine period.. Well it used to be like that when I decided to bring my cat from Turkey to US in 2004..I do not know the procedure now..You can talk to someone who administers this site, or a Turkish vet, Or US embassy to get an update info.

Thank you for these lovely photos.

Please put me on your mailing list.

I fundraise for Greek Animal Rescue so the situation is the same as Turkey - the only difference being is that dogs in Greece cannot have "Sterilization and Return to the dogs territory" as they would be poisoned etc.

Do you re-home dogs in the UK?

Best wishes

So glad to see all these little friends have great homes even it hurts me to read that it was nearly impossible to find a Turkish home for these great ones. I have my 3 beautiful sons and daughters in my house which of 2 were paralyzed. Now i m so happy that i can give them a happy home. I wish i could have chance to have more...

God bless all of you. You have to accept this calling "hero" when we compare all you with the normal (!) people.

I would just like to say thank you very much. To be able to read the above stories instead of the normal death and illness mails - is brilliant.
God bless those of you who have made this possible.
